Hey everyone! First off I would like to say thank you so much for your support and interest in this zine, there were almost 600 responses submitted to the interest check! Unfortunately because of the volume in response, as well as real life circumstances, I no longer feel i will be able to adequately moderate the zine. Thank you once again for your support and I'm sorry we wont be moving forward with the zine.

Hi I'm just wondering, do ya have to be a certain age to be able to join?

hi! to be a mod you would have to be at least 16 and for contributors there is no age requirement as this is a sfw gen zine

so if i read it right this first submas zine will be free right? If the zine goes well, would there ever be physical merch in a future one? Like an artbook or stuff like that

yep! the zine will be free to download!

As for future zines I'm not sure! I'm going to be working on school stuff starting in the fall so it really depends on my schedule (+ i have other zine ideas id like to work on after this!). for physical books/merch i don't think it would happen. I've never modded a zine that had a physical book or merch before so i wouldn't be comfortable trying to do that.

Second, what will you be looking for in contributing artist? Like will you require the art to have backgrounds or just simple character art, will comics be accepted?

Hi! This is something that will most likely be a discussion for the mod team after mod applications. We’ll be posting an info doc for contributors once everything is figured out!

I know it may be too early to say, but will you be ideally wanting to see an example of submas art in the artist applications? I’m quite new to this fandom & am wondering if I should do some work with them in advance to have app examples.

Also verrrrry excited about this project! :D

Hi! Most likely we will be recommending that you have some submas/pokemon examples in your applications, but we won’t require them. Feel free to work on some new pieces if you want to though, It never hurts to update your portfolio!

hello! I got some questions! I want to know if you ever ran a zine before?

I see there is only one mod rn so I'll shouldn't get too a head but i can't help it am excited! Will you be selling a physical book if this gets popular enough?

what are the thoughts on traditional drawings/painting? aka Will the zine be digital art only?

Hi! Yes I’ve ran a few zines before and I’ve also participated as a contributor in several more! I’ve been head mod (+ graphics for the first 2 and social media for the last) for @captureonzine , @da2zine , and @zoldyckkidszine (which unfortunately had to be cancelled 😔).

As stated in our faq this will be a free + digital zine so no there will be no physical book or merch.

We would love to have traditional artwork in the zine! The only requirements for submitted artwork is that it has to fit within the zines theme and it has to be to the specs set out by the mod team (size, dpi, etc.)

How does one join the zine as a contributor? I’ve never participated in one before but I am verrry interested

Hi! Contributor applications will open a later date and all you need to do is fill out a google form with some basic info (credit name, email we can contact you at, etc.) and some examples of your work. We’ll be posting more info regarding applications at a later date so make sure to follow for updates!

Does mod = artist or are mods just people organizing the zine? Will there be artist applications? What's the screening process like and what are the requirements? Will the zine have stretch goals that include preorder incentives like keychains, stickers, and enamel pins? Thanks in advance!

Hi! Mod is short for moderator, as in the people organizing and running the zine! There WILL be contributor applications but much later as we haven’t even opened our interest check yet. Requirements for applications will most likely be 3 examples of what you feel are your best works and a portfolio, an info doc will be posted after a mod team is formed and we’ve discussed what we think is best! And as stated in the faq this is a free + digital only zine, there will be no physical book or merch.
