i keep having this idea that he had a little childhood friend since young when his biological father was still alive and was still this great army general that every respected, and young yu que was already set to be in an arrange marriage once they turn old enough, but of course that didn't happen with all the things that happened but! feelings were genuine! they did like each other a lot and now i want this girl to be the one (1) person he couldn't really stay away from even though he wanted to in the name of protecting her for whatever reason, and he's just internally suffering all the time :/

also a childhood best friend? best buddy ? maybe the trusted partner and comrade of his in the army troop and just someone he knows he could always trust on, until yu que is being hunted for treason for some reason that is sdkjf give me heartbreaking friendships and betrayals and patriotism !!

someone she is trying to gain the trust of to gain access to his resources, connections and whatnot so she's one step closer and higher in terms of social status and class, which in return, she will get caught and confrontation happens etc etc

half sibling! either her mother has had another child that she didn't know until now, or from her biological father who she wants dead so sibling rivalry and perhaps revenge (for the latter bc she wants her father dead, so might as well as start from the child first)
