For anyone who hasn't seen them before, Hidden Search Operators are handy tricks you can use when you're either searching or filtering AO3.
summary: string is a generic way of explaining that you can search AO3 for a specific word that appears in a summary. You can do this from the search bar in the header, from the Any Field box at the top of the Advanced Search form, or from the Search Within Results box at the bottom of the filter menu.
Examples:
summary: Bruce
summary: "Bruce Banner"
summary: Bruce OR summary: Banner OR summary: Hulk
You need to put quotation marks around your search term if it is more than one word. The quotes make sure that the site searches for those two words together.
The other two operators listed work best in the Search Within Results box.
expected_number_of_chapters: 1 will return results where every fic has only 1 chapter currently posted.
You can use expected_number_of_chapters: -1 if you want results where every fic has more than 1 chapter currently posted.
otp:true will return results where there is only 1 relationship tag on the fic. If you want results where there are 2+ relationship tags (and no fics with only 1 relationship tag) then you can use otp:false

Upper management, emailing Stryker: Liu Ren is ill today; can you take on this work?
Stryker: Fine.
Penny, emailing Stryker: I'm so sorry, but I've got COVID! I think Hypsi's dino gear is stuck at HQ; is there anything you can do to make sure she can get out, and that she's fed and cared for? Sorry to trouble you!
Stryker: How many times per day do you feed her. Does she need regular exercise. Do you groom her feathers. CAN I ASSIST. alsogetwellsoon———

Some extra notes on this:
-I've been fairly inconsistent in which orientation this chart is ordered, so, for clarity's sake, Joe, Stryker, and Rosie's late father are all the younger siblings in their respective families.
-While FossilDig has grown remarkably successful over the years, it was originally Kimmy Richmond's extreme wealth that kept the company alive throughout its first two years of coughing and spluttering. Rupert's privilege was passed down from both sides.
-Rupert's mother is very down-to-earth and sweet, unlike her husband. Rosie's father, Russel, was sweet, but completely out of touch with the lives of those less wealthy than him. As such, when his then-girlfriend-eventual-wife introduced him to one Bartholomew Bullwort, who was, at the time, in dire financial straits, the two could barely hold conversation without their grating differences becoming apparent. As such, Bullwort always resented Russel Richmond somewhat, and when Russel and Lyn both died, Bullwort basically transferred all that resentment onto Rosie. When he then babysat Rosie periodically over the next few years, that resentment began to fester.
-Rosie and Rupert sometimes played together as children. They find each other insufferable, but also still enjoy each other's insights into fossil battling. Even now, they're oddly blunt and forthright with each other, and generally mutually obnoxious; to them, it's a form of friendship.
-Rosie has introduced Rupert to Hunter. The two got on well.
-Rupert has introduced Rosie to Dino. The two didn't get on fantastically.
-Of the Richmond, Wildwest/Varèse, and Stryker dynasties, all three are obscenely wealthy. However, Richmond was born into wealth and then slowly became a billionaire, while Joe Wildwest and Captain Stryker are both self-made millionaires. Joe donates as much as he can to various charities, and tries his hardest to be down-to-earth. Stryker impulse-spends episodically and lavishly, which prevents him accruing wealth for wealth's sake. He and Joe both have memories of what it meant to not be able to afford groceries at some point, so aren't going to lose touch anytime soon.
-There are probably more Richmond siblings of Rupert and Rosie's parents' generation, but it felt superfluous to list more for the sake of it.

Bullet Points About Captain Stryker
-Born September 8, 1980, and first thwarted the BR Brigade’s attempt at world domination in November 2010. He coped about as well as a 30-year-old could: that is, by the skin of his teeth.
-He’s unfathomably stuffy, and incapable of acting naturalistically in social situations, but he also despises bureaucracy beyond belief. He’ll yield details of his personal life about as willingly as a stone will proffer blood; and if he’s willing to admit he’s stressed in the slightest, rather than merely exhausted, something’s likely gone horribly wrong.
-Will not turn on his camera on zoom. Won’t usually turn on his microphone, either, unless he must.
-Has access to stone sleep technology thanks to a sycophantic phone exchange he once had with Mr Richmond. If he wants to get things done, he’ll call, rather than write.
-Despite his inflexibility, he doesn’t give a damn about rules he sees as pointless. Simultaneously the most organised, competent person in INTERFOL, and the least cooperative. Thus, he lets other Wardens abuse the World Gates, skips meetings where possible, responds to as few emails as he can, and acts behind the backs of other staff. Preserving Nibbles in stone sleep for five years was entirely in-character—morally, he doesn’t like compromises, so compromised work ethics to preserve some sense of righteousness. He’s more sentimental than he’ll ever admit.
-Penny, Jura, Sean, Drake, and Liu Ren are the only people who can get consistent email responses from him, and the only people who receive anything other than written monosyllables from him. He’s stingy with words, but very fond of Penny, so when she, in a fit of affability, sent him some articles she thought he might like, as well as some gratitudes for his stepping in to help with a certain task he needn’t have, he actually responded warmly, and read the articles.
-Also extremely fond of Leon—recognises some of his own angsty Nirvana fan teen self in him, and thus tolerates much of his misanthropy, and looks out for him.
-Compartmentalises everything. Lives with a deep-seated sense of somehow being morally corrupt; as such, he’s trying, forever trying, to redeem himself for simply existing. He’ll thus do incredibly heroic things and risk his life over and over again to stop fossil crime, but he’s also incredibly cagey, forever fuming over the slightest criticisms. He’s too afraid of people, of how they’ll see him, to really let himself exist publicly outside his own legend, and every time he tries to smile for his ID photo at work, the expression dies halfway.
-Uptight as he is, he’s doing everything he can to improve working conditions for younger Wardens. He’s not willing to watch the next generation endure the same exhaustion he subjected himself to in his early 20s.
-Loves the opportunities that fame affords him, but hates the fact that strangers recognise him in the street. Has hired security guards on his house to deal with the prospect, rather than the reality, of guests. Uses the mythos he’s built up to shield himself from having to actually talk to people. Every single intro speech he gives to Warden candidates is scripted and rehearsed, and, fittingly, stilted.
-Finds it easier to be around his enemies than his admirers, as their judgements of him align better with his judgements of himself. As such, he can get convulsively theatrical when taking on the BR Brigade, and ridiculously excitable around Blackraven. Moreover, he’s prone to black-and-white thinking, so doesn’t feel a need to prove his humanity to those he sees as less than.
-Born in Melbourne, Australia, to an English father and a mother from Hong Kong. His parents divorced when he was about 3. Often spoke Cantonese at home when staying at his mother’s place, but never could read or write the language as well as he spoke it. Still, it’s been useful at work. Now that he lives in Seoul, he’s proficient but not fluent in Korean. Jura has also taught him to curse in Latin American Spanish.
-His older brother is Dina’s father. Stryker can and will lavish gifts on Dina wherever possible.
-Dated Kowloon in highschool, and watched Joe Wildwest on TV incessantly. When he got to actually meet Joe in person, he was a stuttering mess of admiration, especially since Joe was as confident and handsome in person, and unexpectedly warm and humble for someone of his level of fame.
-Gets awful migraines, sometimes with brainstem aura. Though he’s known for missing meetings out of caprice, half his absences have in fact been due to illness. Avoids the World Gate whenever he can, since he’ll inevitably have horrible nausea and photosensitivity within minutes of getting out the other side.
-Hates delegating. Does not trust people to hold themselves to the same standards he holds himself to.
-Has been injured badly over the course of his career—he’s broken bones, degloved his non-dominant hand, and had several blood transfusions through the years.
-His mental health is held together with two bandaids and a piece of discount masking tape.
-Around three years before Frontier started, a high-speed bone buggy crash landed him in hospital; when Jura, a newly inducted Warden who’d always followed Stryker’s orders to a T, asked Stryker’s permission to visit him on the ward, and then offered to take over some of Stryker’s email duties in his guise while Stryker recovered from whiplash and fractures, Stryker hired him on the spot as an effective admin assistant and lackey.
-Jura is the sole person Stryker’s comfortable delegating work to, and while he’s talkative and sunny, he’s very good at keeping information confidential where necessary. Moreover, he updates Stryker on Warden gossip that Stryker would otherwise be too busy to overhear. As such, Stryker trusts Jura with anything and everything. Said trust is bolstered by the fact that Jura’s probably signed as many NDAs as the all of Fossil Park America’s staff have combined in the last few years.
-Stryker and Drake don’t tend to make eye contact or talk often, but have a great respect for each other. Liu Ren was the first to see Stryker’s potential back when Stryker was at his greenest and most incorrigible, and may well be the reason Stryker was promoted to head of INTERFOL; as such, Stryker harbours a certain gratitude for Liu Ren’s presence, but also finds him frustratingly lighthearted and quizzical at times. Stryker and Sean get on excellently.

Frontier Branch Leaders, pt. 3: Drake and Liu Ren
Pt. 1: Background Information
Pt. 2: Sean
Drake
-I stated in an earlier post on this blog that he's 27. Please forget that. He's probably on the cusp of 39 (circa 2015, at the beginning of Frontier).
-Originally from Sweden; moved to Copenhagen a few years before Frontier started.
-Absolutely hates the sensation that occurs when he enters his ancestral battle trance. To him, it's as being possessed, not to mention being utterly exhausting. Starting in his teens, he'd often have periods of abruptly losing control of this trance, and lashing out, sometimes violently, against tormentors and, in worse cases, family. Violet's interest in mysticism allowed her to help him work out what was going on, and slowly learn to detect when a wave of possession was imminent.
-Loves his Ankylo BO because he needn't fear injuring it during one of his trances. He feels most comfortable around padded and armoured vivosaurs.
-For a long time, he tried, desperately, to minimise the length of time he had to spend around children and, by extension, the youngest of the Wardens. He's terrified of hurting people accidentally. Moreover, he finds most people too loud, too much, too extraverted to deal with.
-Has a surprisingly excellent relationship with Sean, who quickly worked out that Drake was intensely sensitive to Sean's typical loudness. As such, Sean usually drops his volume around Drake, and where possible, emails or texts him, instead of talking, on bad days. When Drake's overloaded trying to handle the caseload that comes with managing not only Europe, but also cases in Africa, Sean will often offer to take over some of Drake's more menial duties. Drake, in return, bakes for him, and brings him odd fossil trinkets and weird rocks.
-Despite how much he hates loud people, he loves Scandinavian death metal.
-Known to abuse the World Gate to conveniently escape people. ('Sorry I can't come to your birthday, friend. I'm in Chile right now.')
-Suffered significantly with OCD from childhood, being at his worst in his teens and mid-twenties. He waited for almost 15 years before finally seeking help. While he still has intrusive thoughts and compulsions, they're far better managed now. His social anxiety is also significantly better than it once was.
-Was diagnosed with autism at age 4. Will scream if someone enters his office unexpectedly.
-Has some of the same powers as Violet—however, while she can communicate with spirits and occasionally see the future, he can merely hear spirits and detect psychic energy, but can't actually manipulate them well. Generally, if he can hear his ancestors chattering, he knows his bloodthirsty side is about to take over.
-Blows off frustration by punching pillows. If he punches walls instead, he will leave cracks in the plaster.
-Speaks Swedish and Danish fluently, as well as German and English proficiently. Has a very, very strong accent.
-Visits Switzerland all too often for the sole sake of buying too much Toblerone. Violet can and will raid his supply if there's any left by the time he returns to Fossil Park Europe, so he has about three days to consume everything he buys before she can find him.
-INTP 6w5 sp/sx.
Liu Ren
-Originally from Shanxi. Swears he's forty-eight years old, but Drake and Violet both detect a particular spiritual energy coming from him that's far too immense for him to be a normal forty-something. Writes exclusively in traditional Chinese, never mind that simplified characters have been in use since well before the 80s. Moreover, he's clearly far smarter than he lets on. Violet and Drake are both absolutely certain he's at least a century old, and aren't entirely sure he's human.
-Writes his name as 劉仁, but Violet swears that certain Qing-dynasty documents by 劉陽磊, a mystic and self-proclaimed witch, give off the same energy as Liu Ren's own writings.
-Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, six other Chinese dialects, English, and Portuguese.
-Tends to playfully rib Tria for her extremely strong Sichuan accent.
-Consumes obscene amounts of Sprite and Coca-Cola. Nobody knows how his teeth are still intact.
-When other Wardens get injured, he'll tell them to cheer up, and inevitably have a story of a similar injury. As such, he's been poisoned, burned, bruised, and broken over and over. Nobody knows how he's had time to suffer all these abuses, let alone recover.
-Drake and Sean both overtly dislike him. In part, it's that Fossil Park Asia has a longstanding rivalry with Fossil Park America, and that rivalry means that Sean tends to interpret Liu Ren's gestures as patronising, instead of circumspect, and Liu Ren thinks Sean to be green and overconfident. Drake's suspicions about Liu Ren's history remind him of his own supernatural tendencies, leading him to deeply distrust Liu Ren. Stryker is the only one at HQ who isn't concealing some kind of misgivings about Liu Ren, and even then, Stryker is notoriously unwilling to take orders. While Liu Ren has been there far longer than Stryker, and Stryker owes some success to Liu Ren, they exasperate each other.
-He's been in the job for over 25 years, and looked the same then as now. Though few people like him well, he's still impossible to boot from the position, as he's never actually done anything overtly wrong. Fossil Park America claim that he's overpowered and obsolete; Fossil Park Asia claim that he's done more for INTERFOL than Fossil Park America has in the last three decades combined. He's possibly the most experienced person in INTERFOL, and doesn't seem to be running out of momentum; as such, he's invaluable, even if he's incomparably ill-liked.
-Though he's not overtly frayed at the edges in the same way that many, many Wardens are, he can and will go very, very quiet if someone mentions anything to do with Cosmonium, and when he touches the stuff, he claims that it burns. Drake is starting to wonder if Liu Ren's apparent agelessness might have something to do with Cosmonium, and if there may be some awful incident at the heart of what drove him into contact with it.
-Occasionally takes partners for a night, but doesn't appear to be seeking companionship. Has a portrait of a wife in his office, but it's old-fashioned, in black-and-white, and nobody has ever met the woman herself. Mei Lian once worked up the courage to ask her name. Zha Youjing. When Mei Lian looked at the photo of Youjing and called her gorgeous, Liu Ren looked as if he'd seen a ghost.
