The Mount Topazos hood is still happening!
However, in one week or less this blog will be closing and MT will be absorbed by my main simblr, @anachronisims. I鈥檝e found it too annoying to maintain them as separate blogs, so I鈥檒l be reblogging everything in queue there over the next week and then yeeting this one.

Honestly there鈥檚 so much cute flower shop stuff out there one of the families I鈥檓 now most excited to play is the MT florist. She鈥檚 the grandmother of a teen townie promoted to full playable BECAUSE of this excitement.
4t2 Blooming Rooms Kit

I know what you might think, "This kit, converted AGAIN?!" But wait until you see everything! ;)
This is a conversion of all objects from the kit. All plants are placeable on surfaces (yes, even big pots) and have leaves with undersides via mesh edit, so no overly dark/bright spots. Smoothed out meshes (no seams) and no shine on any object except pearly effect on the lamps. All objects have one obj resource and the footprint was auto expanded where needed (can't thank @deedee-sims enough for this trick, love it). Some meshes were scaled down to better fit sims 2 wall height. One mipmap per texture to save up space and objects with two recolorable subsets where possible.

Lord Crumps' shadow file is necessary for the shadows to work properly. I've included the latest version of it edited by @episims, so I highly recommend replacing it if you already had one from previous conversions of @lordcrumps.
Compressed, clearly labelled, picture and collection file are included. Meshes merged with recolors.

Vintage 1920's House Plan Series

Cliffs of Insanity!
~ a Revamp/Mashup of GreatCheesecakePersona's Nhood Deco Cliffs and Voeille's HD DR Cliff Terrain (and Boulder) Textures by sufficeittosay (aka anachronisims) ~

I love GCKP's cliff objects but I decided I wanted to use them to build mountains that would integrate well with the existing Maxis neighborhood deco boulders to combat the unfortunate lack of neighborhood cliff terrain paint in lot view. Here they are, in two flavors for your mountain-moving pleasure!
Details of Changes
- Enabled Lighting on the Cliff objects so they look much better and have dynamic shading throughout the neighborhood
- Made two separate options, each intended to be used as a 12-piece set in the same neighborhood for more consistent-looking variation than GCKP's original texture options. See previews.

- Greened the foliage on GCKP's "Grass" Cliff option and made other various shading/color tweaks throughout.
Explanation of the flavor options: "Hard Rock" and "Soft Rock"
- "Hard Rock" is a more realistic and craggy texture, and overall is the darker option. It is the one I am personally using. It is based on GCKP's original "Cliff 2" texture but edited by me for Cliff 1. It reminds me of the US Northeast. If I was naming it on theme instead of descriptively, it would have been "The Dread Pirate Roberts." (fig. 1 (title card) and fig. 2 (left) above)
- "Soft Rock" is a smoother, sedimentary rock based on Voeille's "Old" Cliff DR (but shrunk from 1024x1024 to 512x512 because it didn't need it because the mapping on these repeats well and often, especially for objects that will usually only be seen in the middle-to-far distance). It reminds me more of the US southwest, but less red than Sedona. (If you want to see my attempt at a third Sedona flavor DM me, it's a hoot.) If I was naming it on theme instead of descriptively, it would have been "The Westley." (fig. 3 (right) above).
Installation instructions are clearly described in the included RTFM.
YES, THIS INVOLVES OPTIONAL DEFAULT REPLACEMENT OF NEIGHBORHOOD CLIFFS AND BOULDERS. You can omit it but they won't match as well, especially in winter.

An experiment to see how exactly all the various textures in a terrain DR get called in-game turned into a super fun heatmap of MT. Weird though how most areas have blending (fig. 2) but some instead have a hard seam (fig. 3) . Luckily the final product is all various shades of green so it should just look like a nice variegation. I did this so I knew how much effort to put into the several different textures and the answer is: a lot.

Proof of concept for a new DR lush terrain based on extracted Oblivion grass. I am not typically a meshy, texturey kind of modder, but I'm sufficiently satisfied with it that I think I'm going to proceed with it for the full New England vibe of MT.
@criquette-was-here May I please borrow the Rural Charm road textures and release it under the title Charming Oblivion?
