Misumi: Tenma~!  

Kazunari: ‘Scuuuse us!  

Tenma: Woah!? What the!?  

Kumon: For your birthday, remember! We’re trying to decide what to do!  

Tenma: You literally just asked yesterday though.  

Yuki: We don’t have much time, so if you’re gonna pick something then hurry up and pick it.  

Tenma: Hold on…!  

Misumi: Tenma, what do you wanna do~?  

Muku: Is there somewhere you would like to go?  

Kazunari: We can even stay overnight! Just let it out!  

Tenma: …Well.  

Yuki: Oh yeah. You looked like you had something you wanted to say yesterday.  

Tenma: …  

Kumon: You actually do have something in mind already! What is it, what is it!?  

Tenma: …Alright, I’ll be honest. The truth is there’s a certain shrine I’d like to visit.  

Misumi: A shrine~?  

Tenma: A god of entertainment is enshrined there. It was one of the filming location options for my last shoot, but they decided to go somewhere else in the end. It’s kind of far and you have to drive up a mountain road to get there, so I figured it’d be hard to go unless it was for work or something. I thought maybe we could go if it was for my birthday… But it’d also take quite a bit of time out, so I felt maybe a different place would be better.  

Kazunari: Ah, that's what you were feeling? Btw, where is this place anyways?  

Tenma: Oh, right… hold on. The shrine should have an official website. Look, it’s here.  

Kazunari: I see~. Y’know, I think this place is day-trippable though?  

Muku: Wow. The scenery looks wonderful too.  

Kumon: It looks awesome sauce! Let’s all go together!  

Misumi: Yeah, I’m sooo down to go!  

Tenma: Hey, why does it seem like you guys want to go even more than me? This is to celebrate my birthday, right?  

Kumon: Of course we’re going there to celebrate your birthday, Tenma-san!  

Kazunari: You know it! Like, totally!  

Tenma: …I mean, it depends on the weather too. It’s fine with me if we just celebrate at the dorm.  

Yuki: We’ve already come this far. Do you really think these guys are going to back down?  

Kazunari: Alrighty, we gotta check everyone’s schedules first~…  

Kumon: I wonder if there’s any rest stops along the way?  

Misumi: I hope there’s triangles~!  

Muku: Okay. I’ll prepare the snacks for the road. What would everyone like to eat?  

Yuki: See?  

Tenma: It’s my birthday, you know? …I’ll check my schedule.  

-pause-  

Kumon: Morning, Directo!  

Muku: Good morning!  

Izumi: Good morning, you guys. Today’s Tenma-kun’s birthday party, right?  

Misumi: Yep, that’s right~!  

Izumi: Fufu, I see you’re all packed to go. Do you guys need breakfast?  

Kazunari: We’re good! We’re gonna stop at a service area along the way!  

Izumi: Sounds good. Be careful and drive safe!  

Muku: Yes, thank you very much!  

Tenma: Huh? Hold on a second. …If Director’s not coming, then who’s driving? Don’t tell me…  

Misumi: Meee! I’m gonna bring Tenma all the way to the shrine all safe and sound!  

Tenma: Yep, I figured it’d be Misumi. I mean, I can’t argue that Misumi’s driving feels surprisingly safe…  

Yuki: Alright, we’re going not going to have enough time if we don’t leave soon.  

Kumon: Let’s goooo!  

Tenma: I got it. Don’t push me!  

Muku: …Kazu-kun, did you bring that?  

Kazunari: You betcha!  

Misumi: Ehehe, I can’t wait. We’re off!

Muku: He should usually be home by now…

Yuki: Wouldn’t it be better to just do this tomorrow?

Kazunari: But the quicker we decide this sorta stuff the better, right?

Kumon: Yeah, we gotta account for all of our plans too.

Izumi: (Are the Summer troupe members waiting for Tenma-kun to get back home? Come to think of it, he mentioned he was filming at a remote location today.)

Kazunari: Director-chan, have you mayhaps heard anything from Tenten~?

Izumi: Nothing in particular, I’m afraid… I wonder if his shoot got delayed.

Kumon: I see~…

*door opens*

Misumi: AH! That sound!

Kumon: IT’S TENMA-SAN!!

*runs off*

Yuki: And they’re gone.

Muku: Ahaha. Let’s go greet him too.

Kazunari: Why don’tcha tag along with us, Director-chan ☆

Izumi: Fufu, sure.

-pause-

Misumi: Welcome home, Tenma!

Kumon: Tenma-san, welcome back!

Tenma: I’m back.

Muku: We’re relieved you got home safely.

Tenma: Right… Igawa drove me all the way back, but traffic on the way home was horrendous.

Yuki: At least send a message if you’re going to be late, will you?

Tenma: Well! …Sorry about that.

Kazunari: All good, all good. I bet Tenten was exhausted too!

Muku: I’m sure he fell asleep, right?

Tenma: …

Yuki: Bullseye, huh?

Izumi: You worked hard today, Tenma-kun.

Tenma: Yeah, thanks.

Kumon: Right, so! Sorry for bringing this up when you’re tired, but…

Misumi: What do you wanna do for your birthday?

Tenma: Huh? What’s this all of a sudden?

Muku: Misumi-san is really motivated since he’s your photographer.

Yuki: Remember? It’s for the birthday bromide set project. The sets are going to include pictures with the theme of “candid shots”.

Kazunari: It’s a super happy birthday project where the birthday boy will request what he wants to do. And while they’re celebrating together with the rest of their troupe members… One of the members will be in charge of taking candid pics of them!

Tenma: Now that you mention it… my birthday is coming up soon, huh?

Kumon: Say what! You forgot your own birthday!?

Muku: I suppose that's not too surprising since Tenma-kun's so busy every day.

Yuki: So, do you have anything you want to request?

Tenma: Ahh…

Misumi: Did you think of something, Tenma? Whatever you wanna do, we’ll do it for you!

Izumi: (Misumi-kun is really fired up and excited about this. He really feels like an older brother right now.)

Tenma: …No, let me think about it. I’m gonna bring my bags to my room now.

*walks away*

Kumon: Hmm, maybe we shouldn’t have sprung that on him out of the blue.

Yuki: That’s why I said we should’ve saved this for tomorrow.

Muku: But… it looked like Tenma-kun actually has something he wants to do.

Kazunari: I got those vibes too.

Kumon: You really think so?

Kazunari: Tenten told us to let him think about it, so let’s try asking him again tomorrow.

Misumi: Okay, sounds good~.

Izumi: (All of them had things they wanted to ask about Tenma-kun’s birthday, but I bet they were really just worried about him coming home so late.)

Yuki: What are you smiling about?

Izumi: Oh, nothing. Don’t mind me.

Tenma isn't a jealous man, despite his very cocky personality. He's been living in the actor scene for years, where the worst in people rear their ugly heads, where no slip-up goes undetected in the eyes of ruthless critics. Competition is the heartbeat of the industry, and Tenma is aware of it.

And he doesn't care, he takes pride in that fact. Sure, he has a competitive streak or two but he'd simply roll his eyes if he met a rival actor boast about his followers.

It's different with you, though. When you’d watch a drama and he noticed you really, really liking an actor. He feels... insecure. It’s immature, he thinks. He doesn’t want to be lumped into those men with fragile egos. But he wants to see you smile at him when he comes on screen too.

He tried his best to hide it, and it worked for the most part, but nothing about him slips by you, and he’s come to begrudgingly appreciate that.

You reassure him that even if you may obsess over a CEO-hot yet cold-billionare character on-screen, Tenma will always be the star of your heart.

Cue the Summer Troupe eavesdropping and teasing him about it. They’ll never let him live it down.

Tenma: —I’m back.

Izumi: Welcome back, Tenma-kun!

Sakuya: Welcome home. I know you said you had a movie shoot today, but were you really filming until this late?

Tenma: Yeah. From dawn ‘til dusk.

Izumi: In that case, are you hungry? It’ll only be something simple, but do you want me to make something for you?

Tenma: Nah, I’m good. I just ate on-set lunch kinda late because of the filming getting pushed back.

Sakuya: Gotcha. Good work today. How was filming?

Tenma: It was fine. We’re about halfway through the filming now.

Tenma: …Hm? Sakuya, what’s with that camera?

Sakuya: Ah, this is one of the Valentine’s Day presents I got from a fan.

Tenma: Gotcha. That’s the same as the instant cameras we’ve got here at the dorms that print right away after you take a picture, right?

Sakuya: Yeah, it is. But I can’t believe you could tell despite the fact that it doesn’t look much different from a regular digital camera…!

Izumi: Hehe, both Sakuya-kun and I thought it was a normal camera at first.

Sakuya: Ahaha, we did!

Tenma: Actually, the character I’m playing in the film I’m shooting right now has a couple of instant cameras as part of his hobby…

Tenma: So there’s all kinds of instant cameras on set as props, and they had one just like that.

Izumi: Whoa, really? It’s interesting that your character has that many instant cameras!

Sakuya: I’m really curious to see what it’s about!

Izumi: Yeah, let’s go and see it once it premiers! 

Sakuya: Yeah!

Tenma: I think my character is a pretty interesting one, so look forward to it.

Sakuya: Really!? I can’t wait for the movie to come out.

Tenma: Speaking of that, you can hardly even compare the number of letters and gifts we’ve gotten for Valentine’s Day this year to last year.

Sakuya: It’s not even Valentine’s Day yet, but we’ve been getting so many deliveries. I really am thankful.

Izumi: I think being nominated for the Fleur Award might be a big part of it this year.

Tenma: Yeah, probably. I mean, we’ve had tons of support from a lot of people in the past, but…

Tenma: Lately, I feel like we’ve been being supported by people who haven’t even heard of the company before.

Sakuya: Yeah. That’s why it’d kinda be nice if we could do another event to give back and show our thanks to our fans.

Tenma: Yeah. I mean, it is almost White Day, so it’d be kinda nice if we could do it for that.

Izumi: Well, it’s just about time for a leaders’ meeting, so why don’t you try suggesting the idea there?

Sakuya: Ah, yeah! We’ll talk about it at the leaders’ meeting!

Tenma: (...If we’re possibly gonna be doing a White Day event, I should probably look through those now.)

Yuki: …The hell are you doing rustling around this late after only just getting home?

Tenma: I just thought I’d read some letters I got from fans. There’s still some I haven’t gotten the chance to read yet.

Yuki: Hmm… But if you’re gonna read, why aren’t you reading your script? Aren’t you filming something right now?

Tenma: Don’t worry about that. I’ve got a good grip on most of the movie script I’m working on now.

Tenma: Besides, it’s probably better if I get to reading this now.

*Paper rustles*

Tenma: …There sure are a lot of these that came from people in other regions.

Yuki: That’s what I thought, too. Well, I mean, they did stream the Fleur Award selection thing and all.

Tenma: Yeah, there are so many people who haven’t been able to come to the theater to see our plays until now, but…

Tenma: I’m sure they watched the streams of our plays and decided to support us.

Tenma: That’s a weird point to get riled up about.

Tenma: Sure. We’re supposed to make a heart pose, right?

Izumi: Yep, exactly. It’s to express all your gratitude to everyone who’s always supporting you.

Tenma: I see. You got it.

*dream starts*

Tenma: (…Ngh?) (Where… is this? This is definitely does not look like the dorm’s ceiling…)

Alibaba: …Oh, you’re awake now?

Tenma: !? (—Alibaba!?)

Alibaba: Woah, easy there. Are you alright to be getting up so suddenly? You were sleeping so soundly just a moment ago like you had listened to one of Scheherazade’s bedtime stories.

Tenma: (I see… so this is Alibaba’s house. And I assume this is the world from “Water me!!”.) (…This is probably a dream then, huh?) (That being said—)

Tenma: Um… why am I here?

Alibaba: You don’t remember? I rescued you in the street when you couldn't move since you were being surrounded by townspeople. But then they started chasing after us, so I decided to hide you in my house for the time being—. As soon as we arrived, you suddenly said you felt sleepy. You’ve been fast asleep ever since.

Tenma: (I have absolutely no recollection of that. I mean, we’re in a dream, so I guess I didn’t actually experience it… so that’s what we're working with here, huh?)

Alibaba: Those folks had a keen interest in your clothes. If you stayed there, they would’ve stripped you of everything you had.

Tenma: I see… I guess you're right. In any case, thanks for saving me. And sorry��� for falling asleep after you let me into your home.

Alibaba: Don’t sweat it. You were only asleep for about 10 minutes—. And Scheherazade… my wife was out too, so the timing worked out.

Tenma: (As I thought, Scheherazade is here too… It feels kind of fresh hearing him call her his wife.)

Alibaba: Well, I see why they were interested though. You don’t see the clothes you’re wearing around here.

Tenma: Ahh… I came here from a different country.

Alibaba: That makes sense. The roads here are complicated and it’s easy to get lost. Tourists better be careful.

Tenma: I-I’ll be fine! I won’t get lost.

Alibaba: …That’s good to hear. … By the way, I have something I’d like to ask you… you see…

Tenma: What is it?

Alibaba: Does your country… have a legendary paradise oasis?

Tenma: —! Pfft…

Alibaba: Hey! Why are you laughing!?

Tenma: No… sorry about that. (Alibaba’s still the same as always.) I’m not sure… But I can’t say for certain there isn’t one.

Alibaba: For real!?

Tenma: Yeah. I hope you’ll come visit my country one day. If you do, I’ll show you around.

Alibaba: Sounds great. I’ll ask you when the time comes then. I’m Alibaba. What’s your name?

Tenma: …Sumeragi Tenma. I’m the man who’s going to sweep all the best male actor awards in the world—.

*dream ends*

Tenma: —! (…So I finally woke up? I’m glad I don’t see the ceiling in Alibaba’s house anymore). … (I have to admit it was a pretty interesting dream getting to meet and talk with Alibaba.) (It’s a shame that I woke up right before we shook hands at the end. But next time I'll win the best male actor award…) (And once I’ve become an even more famous actor than before, I hope I can meet him in my dream again and proudly re-introduce myself.) That being said, that’s kind of like meeting myself though. Actually, does he even know what a best male actor award is…?

Yuki: …What are you doing talking to yourself?

Tenma: Gah… since when were you here!?

Yuki: I’ve been here the whole time. You suddenly started reaching out your hand even though you were asleep. I figured you must be dreaming, but I see you're still dwelling over it after you woke up.

Tenma: There’s nothing wrong with that!

Yuki: So? What kind of dream was it?

Tenma: …It was nothing, okay?

Yuki: Oh, was it a dream that you can’t tell anyone else about or something?

Tenma: What kind of dream would that be!?

Yuki: You tell me. People get curious if you hide it, you know?

Tenma: I’m not trying to hide anything… But it was a good dream.
