First Ever Moroccan Themed Lounge launched at Mumbai Coworking
Mumbai Coworking, one of the leading providers of shared office space in Lokhandwala, Andheri West has launched the first of its kind Moroccan lounge in the terrace of their coworking space.
Tumblr media
The lounge was opened with the intention of giving the freelancers, owners of small and medium enterprises, media professionals, entrepreneurs, and start-ups an opportunity to unwind themselves while at work.
The beautifully lit, cozy lounge, opened its doors on November 10th, 2017. The artifacts have been carefully picked from Morocco and some antique shops in India, while the tiles for the lower seating area were directly sourced from Jodhpur. The decor almost makes one feel as though they are in Morocco – a feel that one misses when they visit any Moroccan lounge in Mumbai. All current and new members of our Mumbai Coworking are welcome into this elegant lounge along with a complimentary sheesha experience.
When asked about his inspiration to start this unique lounge, Waqar Azmi, the founder of Mumbai Coworking said, “The terrace of our coworking space was not in use due to rains. I am an avid traveller, so when I went to Chefchaouen in Morocco, I was struck by its beauty. It was there that I got the inspiration to convert the terrace into a Moroccan lounge. I personally designed this space.
Tumblr media
Apart from the Moroccan lounge, Mumbai Coworking is also offering its office premises and the terrace to shoot film promos, web series, brand films, corporate films, music videos, TVCs, and much more, to target the production houses situated around their Lokhandwala office. While the shooting in terrace lounge costs around Rs 1,200 per hour, a ten-hour shoot would cost around Rs 10,000. The cost for shooting in office premises will be on an hourly basis.

All You Need To Know About KRA and KPI
Correlations between employee satisfaction and productivity weren’t established until the 1900s. After Elton Mayo measured the relationship between productivity and the work environment in 1920, the government also contributed to improving employee satisfaction in 1950. The Performance Rating Act and Incentive Awards Act were introduced by them. Aubrey Daniels was the one to coin the term ‘performance management’ a couple of decades after that. After a series of evolutionary steps, performance management finally came online in the 2000s.
Tumblr media
Performance management can get complicated. A list of things need to be kept in mind while reviewing an employee’s performance and providing feedback. For this reason, KRAs and KPIs are designed for every employee to measure their performance in a mannerly form. Here’s what you need to know about what is KRA & KPI and how to write KRAs & KPIs: What is KRA?
KRA, or Key Responsibility Areas, are based on the job description of a person and are used when assigning tasks that they are expected to perform. Employees are solely responsible for the specific KRAs assigned to them. KRAs are a larger goal. For example, as a content writer, your KRA would be to produce content that performs and ranks well.
How to write KRAs?
While writing a KRA, here are some things to keep in mind:
Since these are based on job descriptions, go through the JD of the employee thoroughly. Discuss with their manager and them if need be.
Find out exactly what the employee is supposed to achieve and how they would contribute to the organization’s progress.
Note down all measurable critical responsibilities to be carried out on the job. These include things that can be measured in numbers, percentages, etc.
Set goals based on these responsibilities, and write self-explanatory descriptions of every goal.
When describing these goals, ensure that measurable and realistic targets and timeframes are set.
To solve this issue and make performance reviews easier, performance management systems were introduced. With a performance management system, you can automate the entire process. Review cycles can be customized and created as per policies and the requirement. These systems also provide you with feedback forms, and generate reports and graphical analysis of the review. To try out a performance management software that offers a lot more than the above and also sends automated reminders, call at +91 92222 13195 or visit signup.sumhr.com All You Need To Know About and KPI

3 Ways to Handle Payroll for Small Business
3 Ways to Handle Payroll for Small Business
Typically, newly launched startups have a lot on their mind apart from how to do payroll. The smallest details on how to reach a break-even point in sales or to make profit are also crucial. When thinking about all of this, payroll can be a real hassle. What some people find more important than how to handle payroll for small businesses is hiring the right talent for their business. But the point they’re missing is that they’re going to have to pay these people. Before you continue with internal hiring, it’s important to set a payroll process in place. It’s going to make handling payroll much easier as you grow.
Tumblr media
There are multiple methods a small business can run their payroll. To make it easier to decide what suits you best.
Detailed List of All The Different Ways To Handle Payroll For Small Business:
Manually:
For a business of less than 10 people, payroll isn’t that big an issue. You can manually calculate the salary slabs and taxes, assuming you know everything you need to deduct. Whether you’re deducting PF or leaves, getting the accurate amount to be deducted every time is critical. Wrongly subtracting an amount could lead to some serious issues. But everything you need to know about how to do payroll has been made available online, through blogs or youtube videos, all you need to do is look for the right one.
Tumblr media
When calculating manually, using a calculator or an excel sheet, you have total control over everything that goes on. This also means that you are the only one held responsible for any errors that occur. One of the main disadvantages of handling payroll yourself is the liability that comes with it. Computing the salary payable using a calculator could lead to numerous errors if not done with attention to details. You could be knowing the entire process of how to do payroll software for small business and all the deductions to be made, but one incorrectly entered amount can change the end result completely.
With the advantage being complete control, there are also drawbacks. Being a busy professional running a business, processing payroll by oneself can be extremely time-consuming. What could be done in one day with a software, would take a few days of the month, just to calculate and process every employee’s payroll.
Get an easy-to-use cloud-based HR & Payroll software for your small business.
Accountant:
Hiring an accountant would only mean delegating all responsibilities from yourself onto them. They would understand your business and the process, and would know how to do payroll accordingly. However, they would come at a cost with a same possibility of human error. The process would probably still be slow as they’d be running it themselves. As there is not a lot of difference except for delegation between manually running payroll or hiring an accountant, it’s better to choose an online payroll services for small business.
Tumblr media
Payroll Software:
An end-to-end payroll processing software is beneficial for the biggest of MNCs and the smallest of businesses. The only issue here could be finding the best payroll software for small business. A payroll software would take care of the minute details and save you the awkwardness of going back to your high school math experience.
Just like handling payroll manually, you would still be in control of the process with online payroll services for small businesses. Payroll software come with the option of calculating all the leaves taken by an employee, adjust them with their leave balance, and deduct the rest based on their salary. You can quit worrying about staying updated with the latest government policies or income tax deductions, the software will automatically update everything. Based on the employee’s CTC, payroll software will also calculate the estimated TDS and income tax to be paid. Payroll software also come preset with profession tax regulations as per every state’s policy.
Opting for a payroll software would save an enormous amount of time every month. With only a few clicks, you can process payroll for the entire organization. Compared to the pros, there are little to no cons. The only issue here could be the initial couple of days you spend getting used to the software and learning how to use it. But with a simple software, this process can be reduced down to an hour or so. It’s an effortless task to figure out how to handle payroll software for small business yourself. It may sound like such a service would come at a high cost. But you’d be surprised to find that they actually come at a very affordable cost. With only the learning curve being an issue, taking up only a couple of hours, a payroll software is the best method of payroll management for small businesses.

5 HR Issues You’ve Dealt With And How To Eliminate Them
HR teams are constantly facing problems while enforcing policies or facing the backlash by employees. Apart from this, HR issues also include dealing with daily struggles like complaints against pesky coworkers, all the while handling tedious spreadsheets and data. Here’s a lighthearted take on 5 HR issues every HR exec has faced and how to solve them:
Tumblr media
1) Payroll
Just like a period, payroll takes up almost a week of every month of your life. The former is something you HAVE to go through, but the latter can be fixed with a simple step. Men, though unrelatable, you get the gist of this.
Payroll isn’t just about processing someone’s monthly salary. There’s a lot that goes into it before you actually reach that step. Usually, during the last week of the month, HR teams are found in their rooms acting like the CBI cum Math Prodigies. For every employee, HR has to calculate the amount to be paid based on the policies and deductions. Late marks, leaves, fresher’s DOJ, and other calculations are carried out. Not just these, there’s also IT, PT, bonuses, loan advances, provident funds, and other computations.
An extremely easy solution to this HR problem is automating payroll completely. While employees do need their salaries, they also need HR to be available for current affairs in the organization that needs their attention.
Process payroll at the click of a button. Focus on what’s more important – the people.
2) Shift Planning
Certain situations demand unique solutions. Let’s take an example. Your company has a customer base that’s across the country. Now suppose you have an election in your city. It would be unethical of you to force your employees to skip voting and come to work. But you also can’t lose out on lakhs of business. In such a situation, shift planners would play an important role. You can change the shift timings of all employees for that particular day to a later time, e.g. 12 pm. That way, they would have enough time to vote in the morning and also make it work without having an unnecessary late remark.
3) Employee queries
Imagine this: You’re handling a crucial issue and an employee approaches you asking…… Actually, wait, don’t imagine this. If you’re an HR, you’ve definitely experienced it. Employee queries are something you can’t run away from. “How many leaves do I have left?”, “Where’s my salary slip?”. “Is FancyPants coming in today?”. How many times have you been plagued with such questions?
A quick fix to all data related employee queries is to have the information present in one place. With an HRM software, you can have automated salary slips, a list of employees on leave, leave balances, company holiday lists, and much more – all in one platform!
If you’ve been facing any of the HR problems mentioned, try out our HR & Payroll software to say goodbye to your woes.
4) Appraisals
Like a retail worker getting off at 5 pm has his eyes dead set on the clock come 4:55 pm, employees eagerly look forward to their appraisal meetings. As an HR, you have several employees to keep track of. But the employees will only focus on one. Themselves. This can mean that sometimes you lose track of what date an employee must have an appraisal meeting. Or, you’re perpetually cross-checking for quarterly/half-yearly/annual appraisals. While doing this, it’s easy to skip setting a reminder, or to completely forget you had a meeting.
The solution to this HR issue? A performance management system. With this feature, you can create review cycles based on your company policies. Once an employee is onboard, you can simply assign a review cycle once and forget about it. The system will automatically notify you when the appraisal is due. You can also select reviewers and approvers for the performance review. These systems also come with a rating scale and the option to create your own feedback form. Feedback forms can be customized based on the employee’s job profile, making your job easier.
Find out how a performance management system will make your life easy.
5) Reimbursement
All these days you’ve said, “Bro, go ahead for the client meeting. We’ll pay you for the cab later.” Well, it’s payback time. In all honesty, it’s not just client meetings that employees need to be reimbursed for. Whether it’s a phone bill or a flight cost, managing reimbursements via emails can cause a lot of confusion. Following up, responding to the trail mail, confirming payments, etc, can make it a dreary task.
A reimbursement feature offers a single spot to handle every reimbursement request. After creating a reimbursement policy, you can assign it to employees, again, based on their job profile. You can create multiple policies for teams, levels of seniority, etc. The policy can be customized down to the point where you can set sections for images as proof or even fill in the compartment your seat was in. Approval and compensation rights can also be given to relevant people so you only need to overlook the process.
