What’s Inside The Mystery Box?

Seasoned greetings to all! It's been awhile since we've been in touch, and we're still contemplating our next move from our icy abode. In the meantime, we decided to allow everyone the opportunity to grab some unique offerings from our back catalog to help stuff the stocking of a loved one or even yourself in the form of the Mystery Box.
What's inside the Mystery Box you ask? Well, we guess you'll have to find out. What you'll get is a randomized selection of at least 3 items from our stock of Vinyl, Tapes, and CDs, plus who knows what else. If all this intrigue is just too much, then just use the code "mysterybox" at check out, and you'll still get 30% off of anything you heart desires at out Bandcamp.
Order your own Mystery Box.
We also recommend checking out our Discogs store. It's chock full of plenty of stuff we've thrifted or tracked down over the years. There's everything on there from ditch-era Neil, to weird Christian folk, and smooth sounding Private Press AOR. No discounts there, but if you see something that strikes your fancy, make us an offer. We are reasonable people.

Awesome review from the much respected @still-single
PBK & The Minus World – In the Rainbow Eye 7” EP (Summersteps)

Despite having followed his chosen genre’s rulebook by hemorrhaging a huge body of work (albeit primarily on the cassette and CD-R formats) since 1988, with occasional profile-elevating collaborations (Jim O’Rourke and Wolf Eyes spring to mind) found within, PBK (Phillip B. Klingler, b. 1960) remains a name found exclusively within the noisenik’s frame of reference. The Minus World appears to be the ambient/noise alter-ego of a dude from the very odd and very overlooked (but worthy of one) band, Kid Icarus. This is a nice lathe cut with four sharp corners and it features two of the four songs that make up this entire EP in its digital version. Both are prog-noise in that they bounce all over the place from harsh power-electronics to a few brief spots that each sound like they could have been lifted from sections of that abrasive “fuck off!” stretch of bonkers shit by The Orb in the mid-to-late ‘90s. Though simple rhythms arrive here and there but only for a short stay, this stays within the boundaries of free-form gurgle-noise with no thick and glistening heights synonymous with the minority percentage of genre efforts worth owning. Only 25 copies of this thing were designated for the listening and buying public, but as of this writing 6 of that 25 are still available via the link following this sentence. One of the projects we are most proud of having worked on is our two double album length tributes to the enigmatic Houston based outsider Jandek. Sanctioned by Corwood Industries & released in 2000 and 2005 respectively (along with a limited CD-R release of outtakes released in 2006); they featured musicians and artists both known and unknown, including Jeff Tweedy, The Mountain Goats, Six Organs of Admittance, Low, Bright Eyes, Thurston Moore's Dapper and many more. This wonderful Janky portrait was rendered by the lovely @misscassierose and adorned our aforementioned tribute outtakes collection, The Corwood Variations. Today only, name your price for a download of this collection of covers. Link in bio. #jandek #outsidermusic #avantfolk #corwoodindustries #experimental #coversong #tributealbum

Cerberus: Das Black Milk - Mid-Level Blues
I feel Das Black Milk are far too cool for me. This nearly-cassingle length matchbox of a cassette strikes the flint hard. It sparks and sizzles, lighting the cigarette in panoramic slo-mo. It’s James Dean hair and Jan and Dean’s dead man curve; racing for pink slips amidst a full midnight moon. Mid-Level Blues growls and groans, and though it’s not as down and dirty as the title suggests, it has a particular earthy cool that marquee bands trading in on a similar style miss in their substance. Not the case with Das Black Milk, who create an air of suspended terror that the drag race is going to take one of us out, and while I fear myself the victim, I realize that I am not cool enough to bite it. That’s the role of the stars. So, I’ll just grip this and keep it clutched close to my bosom so I can tell the tale.
