mafuyu being a mimic octopus and having to masquerade as an inkling in public life is uh, more allegorical than anything. i don't feel like getting into the political implications of that in splatoon/proseka world.

I don't think all the project sekai characters would be inklings/octolings though. In particular, i think nene, rui, kohane, and the tenmas would be fishpeople of some sort. I'm not really big on marine biology, so i couldn't tell you what kind, though. Also, i tried to make akito one of the murasaki-style urchins, but it failed horrendously.

Hi I'm the friend who was able to do it on procreate. For procreate,

tap and hold on the icon of the brush you want to change color, this will take you to "Brush Studio"

go to "Color dynamics"

go to the section "Stroke color jitter"

mess with the "Hue" slider. I do 3-12% usually but its up to you :)

on other art programs, i don't know what i would do, but there should be hue jitter somewhere in brush settings, if there are brush settings...

How did you make your brush that changes colours?

i use a default setting with csp brushes called color jitter! i explain that in better detail here in an old ask about what brushes i use.

i can't speak for other art programs but i think they shooould have something similar? I know one of my friends was able to do it on procreate but im allergic to apples (the electronics not the fruit) (i love the fruit) so i unfortunately don't know 💔 im sure it'll be easy to look up though!!

notes about bias:

i havent played 1 classic at all, i have played a bit of eo2 classic

i havent played either mystery dungeon

i have played through eo3 multiple times (my favorite), eo4 once, eo5 almost done

no thought given to alt colors unless i remembered them. most of these portraits im really only looking at fully while making this tierlist. Feel free to change my mind with good alt colors

just because i dont like some of these doesnt mean i dont like it when other people use it. it's okay when it's your ocs i just wouldnt use the portrait myself

notes about my rankings:

yggdroids are my favorite class bc fuck yes robots, but i wish their designs were better.

dark hunter 5 is so cute, despite the ranking i would play her

most of the problems tier is that yk the designs play into weird stereotypes (wildling and dancer/troubadour) but the first 2 i just dont like blondes, and the bushi just made me laugh the anime boy cut is too funny...

the tiers are unordered. my all time favorite class portrait EVER is [drumroll please...] arbalist 4 alt color.

we got another one >:) This is Aki he's the party's second member. Rendering all that armor was horrible but it's okay even if it doesnt show up in the actual.... portrait.... :,) I also have to confess, I did trace a portrait (i think a female protector from the new adventurers dlc pack?) for his arm and the sword, so that's not really My Work. otherwise this is just heavily referenced from other portraits.

yesterday I modded my OC Ángel into etrian odyssey nexus :3 I had a lot of fun imitating the EO artstyle. not so much fun actually modding but i'm pretty satisfied with the end result so its ok!
