Fluorescent lights buzz overhead, persistent and droning. The sort of sound that, if you focused on it too hard, would make your ears ring and brain fuzz with irritation. It almost made one feel sorry for the cashier behind the counter, subjected to the torture for hours upon end.

Tomura was done with it after just a few minutes. Short but sharp fingernails scratch scratch scratch at his neck, nearly as persistent as the fluorescents. It did little to soothe the itching beneath his skin, but the motion made him feel more settled, at least.

It was never comfortable leaving the safety of home without his hands. But they aren't the sort of attire you could wear in public without getting strange looks at the least. Let alone being recognized. Tomura tugs the dark hood of his hoodie further over his face, framed by messy strands.

Tired eyes roam over the shelves of bright packaging. Glance at labels without really reading them. It wasn't unusual for someone to do a late night snack run, considering it was the safest time for any of them to go out – what was unusual was Shigaraki being sent out on one.

But it was fine. If he had to do this, he wasn't catering to everyone's preferences. With that, he grabbed some random packets, throwing them into the basket slung over his arm. Nails return to his neck, itching and scratching the already raw skin.

He turns, ready to move away from the aisle he'd already spent too long in, only to pause at a figure blocking the end of the aisle. Tomura breathes out a sigh, weighing the options of pushing past or simply turning around and heading to the other end of the aisle instead. Decisions, decisions.
