STAR WARS: EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE (1977) PROMPTS *  assorted dialogue from the film, adjust as necessary
uh... everything's under control. situation normal.
this will be a day long remembered.
in my experience, there's no such thing as luck.
i have you now!
let's blow this thing and go home!
great shot, kid, that was one in a million!
look, a few minutes ago you said you didn't want to just wait here to be captured. now all you want to do is stay?
he doesn't like you.
it's a wonder you're still alive.
no reward is worth this.
i'm surprised that you had the courage to take the responsibility yourself.
the more you tighten your grip, the more star systems will slip through your fingers.
screaming about it can't help you.
i see your point.
i wonder if he really cares about anything, or anybody.
what is it? some kind of local trouble?
i have the death sentence on twelve systems.
this little one's not worth the effort.
i sense something.
should i have your ship standing by?
you don't believe in the force, do you?
i've flown from one side of the galaxy to the other. i've seen a lot of strange stuff.
there's no mystical energy field that controls my destiny.
the force will be with you, always.
how did my father die?
if there's a bright center to the universe, you're on the planet that it's furthest from.
i don't know what all this trouble is about, but i'm sure it must be your fault.
you watch your language!
we seem to be made to suffer. it's our lot in life.
either i'm going to kill her or i'm beginning to like her.
aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?
the force is strong with this one.
i fear something terrible has happened.
we had a slight weapons malfunction, but... uh. everything's perfectly all right now.
we're fine, we're all fine here now. thank you. how are you?
we're sending a squad up.
we're doomed.
it's not over yet.
i ain't in this for your revolution, and i'm not in it for you.
i expect to be well paid. i'm in it for the money.
use the force, [name].
i find your lack of faith disturbing.
this bickering is pointless.
hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side.
look, your worshipfulness, let's get one thing straight. i take orders from just one person: me.
give us a few minutes to lock it down!
who is this? what's your operating number?
[name], we're gonna have company!
you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. we must be cautious.
let me see your identification.
you can go about your business.
move along.
my ship has fallen under attack.
this is our most desperate hour.
you're my only hope.
i've gotta get home! it's late! i'm in for it as it is!
i'm getting too old for this sort of thing.
look, i can't get involved. i've got work to do.
it's all such a long way from here.
evacuate? in our moment of triumph? i think you overestimate their chances.
we have no weapons!
you're far too trusting.
i recognized your foul stench when i was brought on board.
marching into a detention area is not what i had in mind.
that's what i'm afraid of.
this is all your fault.
i don't know who you are or where you came from, but from now on you'll do as i tell you, okay?
surely he must be dead by now.
i have something here for you.
there was nothing you could have done.

The clans were scattered, the planet was glass, and Tajur had watched his own boys do it. Plenty of nat-born troopers, as he'd heard some Clones refer to non-cloned sentients, had taken part but even under the helmets and the new dehumanizing armor designs he could recognize a Clone Trooper. From Mandalore he'd watched the holonews as Jedi were gunned down and the Republic seemed to implode on itself and then had seen those same boys glass the surface of his homeworld and Tajur couldn't understand why.
As the Empire solidified its power the Rim held more appeal to Tajur. His whole life had been spent on Mandalore and Kamino and now, even as an adult, he found himself often looking around like an awestruck child. Thank the Force for his bucket.
Here on the Rim, inching closer and closer to Wild Space, there was work for those who didn't have too many scruples. Tajur was finding that as someone who did have scruples ... work didn't come quite as easily. It was during one such negotiation that he spied a flicker of familiarity in the passing crowd. The black and gold armored Mandalorian stopped and turned toward the movement. Was the Empire extending its reach here?
Was it hunting the Mandalorian refugees ... was it trying to erase anyone who knew about where the Clones came from and how they were trained? Tajur drew his blaster and waded into the crowd after the familiar shape.

Thinking about my Mando OC Tajur. He was a trainer on Kamino, raised with the troopers by his father and eventually taking over training his father's troopers.
And just, how heartbroken Tajur was to see his troopers turn on the Republic and never knowing why.
Yup I'd love for Tajur to meet some of the troopers who've made it out of the Empire.

People liking your personal OCs is still such a crazy feeling, I've been doing this for years and ppl asking about them still fills my entire heart with warmth and idk how to handle it
You enjoy this fictional guy I made up for fun?? Whose only content is random artwork or writing made by me and a handful of other artists at most? They have no show/book/game with a large fandom, it's just one person with an art blog?? I love u

😴 😨 ~ both dreams for Mathafew @sundanceofapache
For a Dream & Nightmare with Mathafew!
The night was filled with a mist of glittering stars, the color of them shifting in the atmosphere of Esverr. Darius grinned broadly up at them as if experiencing them for the first time. "Can you see it, Mathafew?" He asked squeezing his son close as he pointed up at the sky. "Can you feel the flow of Clarr'Proviiden?" They were so beautiful, and he felt so wonderful he thought his chest would burst! He glanced down at Mathafew whose pupils were wide and round with wonder. Starlight danced on his scarlet irises and his face looked like the child he should have been this entire time. A Scourman could only see a bit less than Truemen, but he knew it was a sight. But what made this all worth it was seeing Mathafew's face... A 10-year-old boy seeing the world, the Force, for the first time with his new sight. Darius beamed at his ad'ika and gazed back up at the rainbow-studded sky... When the atmosphere shifted and pain sizzled through his chest... something... red... entered his view as brilliant light hummed from his chest and withdrew. Everything was muted. Darius fell back, stunned, Mathafew grabbing for him as black-gloved arms pulled him back. The Mando tried to grab him, to hold him, to stop the Dar'jetti from taking him! The boy slipped from his fingers, but he could still hear his son screaming for him. "Mathafew!" he rasped, trying to breathe with the hole in his chest. "Mathafew!!" Darkness surrounded him, the very darr'thumbra of their souls were blocking out the sky "He wasn't yours to begin with, Mando," came a smooth, silky, oily voice. "You should have given him to us when you had the chance..." He knew that voice... it was the one that belonged to the first Darr'thumbrian he'd ever met... the boy's handler... a dark trueman... "Now you're going to die, and he's going to return to the thumbra where he belongs..." "No!" Darius choked out, feeling his vision fading and fearing the loss of his son to the Dar'Jetti. "NOOO!"
The Mandalorian jerked bolt upright, his hand still grasping in front of him where Mathafew had been in his dreams. His hand jerked to his chest, clutching the spot he'd felt the Lightsaber in his dream. He let out a choking sound as he leaned back into his bed, pressing a hand against his eyes as he breathed through his horrific nightmare.

Pence was a Videre, trained from the time he was a boy to utilize his people’s natural connection to the Force as a psychic, a tracker, truth-seer, and other skills. Since joining the Rebellion, he’d more often than not been called upon to act as a guide, tracker, and interrogator invading and breaking the minds of Imps brought to him. He had since been attempting his own research into the ancient Jedi tradition … with very limited success. Still, the young man fell back automatically into a simple breathing exercise, trying to center himself, to shove aside the fear brought on by the cold sensation of dread that the Inquisitor brought with him.
When his guards let go of his arms and left, the young Rebel straightened up and resisted the urge to cower away. He licked his lips and watched the Inquisitor looking at him. Carefully, he slammed shut the blastdoors into his mind, closing himself off from any attempts at prying, and also keeping him from getting a true read on the man across from him.
“I’m just a student of the Force.” He said, pleased that his voice was steady. Mimicking the Inquisitor, he canted his head to the side, taking in the body language, the modulated voice that certainly couldn’t be what this being actually sounded like under the helmet. “Atticus Jul Pence.” He finally said, “You already got that, my planet of origin, rank, and occupation within the Rebellion off my identicards. So … you tell me. Why’d an Inquisitor feel the need to come speak to Rebel scum about the Force?” Once finished speaking, he smiled. This was his first time as the subject of interrogation, but … he had a good feeling about this. The Force had led him here, so, surely it had a plan.
Cal Kestis the Eleventh Brother wore his Inquisitor helmet. The ex-Jedi crossed the room towards the subject. He looked from the subject, and then to the guards. "Leave us," came his voice, modulated through the output of his helmet. It was an octave lower than his actual voice and fuller. The purge troopers filed out of the cell and left the two alone. For three minutes, the Eleventh Brother said nothing. The visor of his helmet was opaque, but with the direction in which it was pointed, towards the face of the Esverran man, one could easily draw the conclusion that he was staring at the man's green eyes. Then the Eleventh Brother scoffed. "Self-taught Jedi?" His helmet tilted to the side. "They could really DIY everything nowadays," he muttered under his breath. "Though, I wonder. Why do you think you're so special? Why am I wasting my time... Talking to you?"

star wars: kotor   ∕   sentence starters ( part ii. ) more dialogue taken from the 2003 rpg, star wars: knights of the old republic. lightly edited for clarity. feel free to shift pronouns.
just do me a favor and wait till i’m out of here before you start blowing the place up.
neither one of us is getting off this planet unless we work together.
you got another plan? or are you just objecting because you didn’t think of it?
and why would I indulge your idle curiosity?
to think us creatures beyond the need of simple passions is a delusion.
you’re the one who wanted to know more about me. well, this is it. this is what I am.
all my secrets are purely of the mundane variety, unfortunately.
but in the end, you’ve lost something as well.
if we survive all this… maybe we could talk about it then.
i’m asking you to trust me. for just a little while longer.
i wonder how long you would have stayed blind to the truth?
is it vengeance you seek at this reunion?
go ahead and be paranoid.
imagine my surprise when i found out you were still alive.
you do know we’re on the same side, right?
i’m beginning to wonder if you’re capable of trusting anybody.
not all of us have the luxury of choice.
you make me think i have some purpose beyond revenge.
nice speech. i bet you tell yourself that every night so you can sleep.
i would rather not place my life in your hands.
i am prepared to do what it takes.
sounds like you’re better off without him.
how can you even ask if I will follow you?
you always did like to do things the hard way.
blah, blah, blah. don’t you ever get tired of being so preachy?
we’ve survived worse, and will again.
can’t you just admit that you were rescued?
i wanted to hold you responsible for all the things you’ve done.
whatever he said, he was only trying to hurt you.
deny it if you will, but there is a connection between us.
i thought i could destroy all my enemies with a single glorious victory!
i believe you truly mean what you say. for now.
you talk too much and do little.
the darkness that must surely be there, it isn’t who you are.
don’t try to move too quickly, you might not be fully recovered yet.
one more ‘darling,’ and you’ll be sorry, understand?
no one is without hope of redemption.
none of us is perfect, but I realize ___ is a little less perfect than most.
watching you suffer tore me apart.
i assume you had some part in this; you learned your lessons well from me.
the only thing you taught me was betrayal and death.
so he sacrificed you to save his own hide?
i always knew there were some who would think i acted out of fear.
you always could inspire loyalty.

I am not just another NUMBER. None of us are. They're not droids to simply be shut down. They're soldiers who defended us, defended our worlds. -- After all they've sacrificed, you now wish to discard them? Leave them with nothing? Is that how we repay them for their service?

Having been from one end of the galaxy to the other during the war, Cody knew better than most how massive and sprawling it was. Despite that, the galaxy became a confined and claustrophobic for him now that he was no longer on the side of the victors. There were no identicards and chaincodes for deserters, no ready transports to whisk him from one planet to the next while the army traveled, food and uniforms, maintenance for equipment ... none of these were things he'd needed to be concerned with other than to make certain that those assigned to such duties saw to them.
Cody looked down at the new plastoid identicards that had just been passed over to him. Everything needed to travel and function in this new upside down galaxy, at least as long as someone didn't look too long at his face and realize there were millions exactly like it. He cracked a small smile, natborns hadn't looked all that closely at them when they were the good guys, he doubted they'd look too closely now. Most beings just let their eyes slide right off other people.
Thera had been the first person he thought of, after getting away from Kamino and realizing that he hadn't been truly prepared or known what he wanted besides just getting away. "Have any other brothers come to Nar Shadda looking for help?" He bent down to tuck the cards away in his already overloaded pack, then hefted it up onto the table.
