Let me be frank

Having the flu is the absolute worst even with mild symptoms. My eyes burn, my nose feels dry one minute and then wet the next, my throat feels scratchy, my head is pounding and there is a lot of pressure in my ears. I want to be over this already.

Just a Random Thought

Does anyone else like to eat lunch for breakfast. I'd rather have a hamburger for breakfast than pancakes. Nothing against breakfast food because hey sometimes a pancake or a waffle is just perfect, but most of the time I'd just rather have a hamburger.

Chapter 002: Stargazing

She was sitting down in front of the fire while looking up at the stars. She knew that the fire would keep them safe from regular predators but it would do nothing to protect them from demons. She heard a rustling noise and looked at the space across from her to see disappointed sad eyes.

“Again? So soon after the last time?” The monk asked as he stood up from his spot across the fire.

“She seems to call for him more often.” She sighed, as she took a stick to stoke the fire in front of her.

“How do you feel about that?” His voice was closer as he had come to stand before while she wasn’t paying attention.

“I don’t know what to feel… I love… him.” Her voice was a whisper as she turned back to look at the stars. How could she explain the emotions that were buried deep within her heart. She loved him of that much she was sure but what wasn’t so clear is what kind of love it was. She suspected that her love for him was a leftover remnant of her previous life, one that no matter how hard she tried she would never be free from.

“I am truly sorry that this is happening to you.” the monk said as he sat beside her giving her the support he knew she needed desperately.

Hey yall, I wanted to make a PSA about this because it'll be useful to many of you in the United States. You might qualify for public assistance now, specifically because of rising food prices.

The federal poverty line, the biggest determining factor for public assistance, has been kept artificially low for decades because it was based on the outdated assumption that food was the primary expense for most American households. For decades now, shelter has been the larger expense, but the federal poverty limit has still been determined based on the prices of food commodities.

Because food prices have recently gone up, the federal poverty line has gone up significantly as well. This means if you were previously slightly over the income limit to qualify for public assistance such as food stamps or medicaid, you likely qualify now. I'd like to encourage everyone who thinks they might qualify to apply for these programs. The qualification cutoffs are still absurdly low, so please be assured that if you qualify for assistance, you're not taking something you don't need or deserve.

Please reblog this if you think your followers will find it useful. I haven't seen anyone talking about this, it's just something I noticed recently, so I want the info to become more public to help people who might be struggling.

sometimes you sit down to write and prooduce hundreds of words of beautiful prose and sometimes you have to stop writing five minutes and two sentences in because you misspelled 'wet' as 'weet' and every time you try to correct it you start laughing so hard you feel nauseous

Chapter 001: Flip Flop

All this tragedy started that fateful day that Urasue resurrected Kikyō; she wondered for how much longer this could go on? She had watched him sneak away in the middle of the night leaving them unprotected did he really believe that they wouldn’t notice? Couldn’t he tell that she was awake? He was half dog demon, all it should have taken was a quick sniff in the air or just taking stock with his really good hearing.

“Obviously, he does.” She said out loud as she watched over her companions. He was supposed to be the alpha and from what she had learned that came with a lot of responsibilities that had now become obvious he could not handle. This flip-flopping nature of his she could have probably endured but this absolute disregard for the safety of his companions frightened her. How could he so easily abandon them without a second thought?

AN: This story was originally written for Dokuga.com Priestess Skye's Twisted Fairy tale challenge back in 2012. I did however take a long hiatus and only recently started to go back and continue writing for stories that I have and trying to write new stories. This story has twisted from its original intentions and is probably no longer about a fairtale. As always. I hope you all enjoy this first chapter.

Need Inspiration

I've been slacking off on my writing when I shouldn't. I'm currently trying to write chapters for my Inuyasha fanfiction and it should really be simple since each chapter is supposed to be 300 words or less.

But no.... here I am watching season 5 of Before the 90 Days...

Maybe I just need a music playlist but really I just need to write.

Eight Rules For Writing -- from a long ago piece I wrote for The Guardian.

1 Write.

2 Put one word after another. Find the right word, put it down.

3 Finish what you're writing. Whatever you have to do to finish it, finish it.

4 Put it aside. Read it pretending you've never read it before. Show it to friends whose opinion you respect and who like the kind of thing that this is.

5 Remember: when people tell you something's wrong or doesn't work for them, they are almost always right. When they tell you exactly what they think is wrong and how to fix it, they are almost always wrong.

6 Fix it. Remember that, sooner or later, before it ever reaches perfection, you will have to let it go and move on and start to write the next thing. Perfection is like chasing the horizon. Keep moving.

7 Laugh at your own jokes.

8 The main rule of writing is that if you do it with enough assurance and confidence, you're allowed to do whatever you like. (That may be a rule for life as well as for writing. But it's definitely true for writing.) So write your story as it needs to be written. Write it honestly, and tell it as best you can. I'm not sure that there are any other rules. Not ones that matter.
