Chicago "CURLS CURLS CURLS"  Chi-Town stand up! Join me for a day of learning about everything "Curls, Curls, Curls"! WHEN: MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH  WHERE: The Curl Society

In this class you will learn: - 2 observe & learn demonstrations where you will learn my take on curly haircutting to create shape & movement for your curly clients  - The art of effective consulting with your curly clientele  - My signature hydrating & defining styling techniques for curls - Learn how to use the science of curly hair to help you pick the best products for each client  - How to capture your ideal client through social media to build your curly clientele

This workshop is for licensed hairstylists & currently enrolled cosmetology students only.

My last client of 2018 🌻• • My beautiful curlfriend, Samone, came to see me for her 1st curly haircut after years of having her hair straightened then cut. This week has been full of #transitioninghair beauties in my chair 🌻• • Dione came in ready to get her curls back on track to become healthy again. Her fine textured hair was suffering from heat damage which left her ends extremely compromised. She thought that her curls were all the way gone, but with cutting the damaged hair & creating a bomb shape for her, along with giving her hair maximum hydration with her hair session with me, we found her curls! Let’s make #transitioninghair Thursday a thing okuuuuurrrrrr 💃🏽 😊🌀🌻• • 11 months ago this beauty walked in with a head full of curls that were suffering from heat damage. Swipe to see her 1st session with me & a hella dope slo mo at the end ✌🏽🌻• • The fast paced world of social media makes it look like these hair transformations happen overnight, when in actuality they take LOTS of patience, proper care, & time. • • After Amarillys’ 1st session with me, she now is confident rocking her curls, executes her wash day like a boss, is knowledgeable about what her hair needs to thrive & what to stay away from, & she knows what exact products to use instead of being confused with all of the choices in the curly hair aisle. • • I’m transparent with my clients about their hair & the healthy hair journey using the basics of knowing one’s hair history with chemicals, their current haircare practices, porosity, density, texture, climate in which they live, & their lifestyle. • • I will always want my clients to become their OWN hair goals 🌻• • In my sessions I help create a realistic regimen for each of my clients. This is an oldie but goodie post about how important hydration 💦 is for one’s curls 🌻• • Swipe to see all of my curlfriend, Shanta, & her processes with me 🌻✂️• Curlfriends 🌀🌻 what would y’all like to see on my page in the new year? • • • W A T E R 💦....• • Along with using water soluble products is the key to moisture in the hair, not ingredients like heavy oils & butters #justsaynotococonutoil 👀• • • You see how the water that I’m putting on my client Shanta’s hair is literally just rolling right on off of her hair strands?• • That my curlfriends is the result of extreme buildup of using products with too much oils, butters, or silicones, & replacing your shampoo all together with just a co-wash instead of a surfactant based cleanser is 👏🏽 NOT 👏🏽 giving 👏🏽 your 👏🏽 curls 👏🏽 life. It’s wreaking havoc more than you know • • Oil & water don’t mix, right? So think about what those heavy ingredients & buildup will do to the hair over time 🤔• • • Your hair strands will repel water! Yes yes y’all, your hair will be like when you try to clean broccoli. Yes, you read that right, broccoli 🥦 The water will roll right on off making it hard for you to get any water on your veggies, or in this case, your hair & your scalp 😯• • The heavy ingredients are causing your hair & scalp to suffocate, thus turning your hair into an even more dry palette, your hair is more prone to breakage, & your hair follicles are being blocked which doesn’t promote a healthy scalp for optimal hair growth • • • Water & incorporating water soluble products will help to get your curls popping. That along with going to a professional stylist to help you figure out these key things 🔑• • • Texture, density, porosity, water quality in your area, & the climate of where you live • • • • Last thing, remember that curly hair, no matter the type, texture, etc is naturally dry.
