i talked a while ago about how i find leafhawk compelling because of their parallel destinies of being used as pawns by higher powers

bluestar spending the last months of her life convinced her entire clan are traitors out to get her, fireheart desperately acting as a bridge between them even though the clan resents and blames him for their problems, only to remember in her last moments how deeply she loved them all and is loved by them

mistystar spending her entire life pretending that her whole clan didn’t allow what happened to her + stonefur + their apprentices to happen, putting aside her bitterness and grief and rage to be a good leader to them, feeling like her son reedwhisker is the only cat she can truly trust to have as her deputy, hoping desperately she made the right choice by staying. and then finally, when she is the oldest cat in the clans, she gets the chance to reform things, to change the rules to prevent something like tigerclan from ever happening again, only for her clan to look at her and say you’re fucking crazy, why would you want this, that could never happen again, maybe somewhere else but not here, and in her last moments while her last precious child is far off in the woods being murdered and her heart is giving out she realises her mistake

i would be a kittypet all the way in the warrior cats universe. if i heard a bunch of guys were in the woods killing each other for survival and they think i'm the lame one for getting mediocre banquets i would be like you guys are stupidd and then when the thunderclan medicine cat comes by my fenced lot to pick yarrow i would be like what are you doing and shes like medicine so my clanmates don't die and i'm like wow you guys really have it that rough. and she keeps encountering me and one day i'm like why don't you come inside there's plenty of kibble and she averts her eyes shyly and is like ...no that would be against starclan and i'd go To have a little kibble? and she's like You know what i mean. and i do. 5 moons later she is getting adopted by my people and visions of her ancestors still haunt her and she is from time to time like Did I do the right thing...? how could i be so selfish...? and i'm like my toy mouse squeaks

i edited lionblaze.. his og design looked too out of place

also i changed my mind. lionblaze is the youngest and jayfeather is the middle child

designs for the leafhawk au…

notes on the designs vv

- overrall i tried to reference their existing merch palettes to make it easier for myself.. i also tried to basically adjust their canon mini designs to be simplified and to my preference

- i wanted the tails to be related to their names. so leafpool for example has a tail that looks like leaves attached to it and hawkfrost has a beak-like looking tail

- jayfeather i immediately decided to have the closest pattern to leafpool cus i feel like it suited him more and made him closer to leafpool. i also changed his name from jayfeather to kestrelwing as it was fitting for the bird portion of his name to be closer to a hawk then a crow. also the ‘wing’ part is actually reference to mothwing ^_^

- i wanted hollyleaf to have some white markings to make reference to scourge and also to have her most similar to squirrelflight. i also made her the oldest because i believe it would be a bigger blow to be the oldest without the blessings…

- i tried to vary the bodytypes. so all the kids inherited the taller and bigger gene from hawkfrost’s side but they vary in body. jayfeather is more slim and sleek. lionblaze is bulky and topheavy. hollyleaf is a nice balance.

- leafpool is easily round and soft to me

- everyone has a vague combo of leafpool and hawkfrost’s bangs, i decided against jayfeather having bangs cus i felt it suited him more for his mane to be pulled back. i also gave jayfeather a lazy eye!

i cant be bothered rn to write up everything abt this au but i just wanted to get the designs down on paper.
