            "  i  know  you're  going  through  it  right  now,  "  sunny  begins,  her  tone  laced  with  the  kind  of  awkward  sincerity  that  made  it  clear  she  wasn't  exactly  a  pro  at  emotional  pep  talks.  still,  she  gave  it  a  shot.  "  but  there  are  so  many  people  who  look  up  to  you.  so  don't  just  give  up  like  that.  "

            sunny  can  definitely  see  the  hype.  he  had  that  look,  the  kind  that  would  effortlessly  reel  in  a  fanbase.  his  features  were  undeniably  .  .  gorgeous,  for  the  lack  of  a  better  word.  nodding  once  in  confirmation,  she  briefly  debated  whether  to  mention  that  some  entities  requested  tattoos  not  for  aesthetics,  but  for  far  stranger  reasons.  ultimately,  she  opted  to  keep  that  little  tidbit  to  herself  for  now.  "  yeah,  i'm  pretty  much  a  magnet  for  these  spirits  and  so,  they  often  seek  me  out.  "

 taking  a  long  drag  before  flicking  the  cigarette  to  the  pavement,  sunny  was  quietly  pleased  to  discover  he  was  a  believer  rather  than  a  skeptic.  "  that's  good,  you'll  definitely  come  into  contact  with  some  of  them.  there's  a  funeral  home  down  the  street  too,  so  sometimes  they  linger  around  my  shop  when  they  have  nowhere  to  go.  "  the  ones  who  stuck  around  were  usually  the  broken,  the  abrupt  endings.  this  time,  her  lips  curled  into  a  wider  grin.  "  sure,  i'm  curious  to  see  how  you  do  these  investigations.  "  also  curious  how  he'd  handle  the  interactions  with  the  spirits.  pushing  open  the  glass  door  to  her  shop,  she  steps  inside,  but  not  without  looking  over  her  shoulder  for  a  moment.  "  follow  me,  pretty  boy.  "

       gaze  strayed  for  the  shortest  of  moments,  looking  at  the  building  towering  the  two  of  them  and  there  was  silent  voices  already  calling  out  for  him  but  the  sound  of  sunhee's  sweet  voice  bringing  his  attention  back  to  fixate  directly  on  her.   "  interacting  with  them  even  ?  "   subtle  surprise  laced  his  voice  when  speaking,  a  lower  obstacle  of  tone  as  he  also  exhaled  the  smoke  through  a  smirk   ;   fang  showcased  of  pearly  whites  as  gaze  lowered  some,  not  without  tracing  down  her  stance  yet  another  round.

"  so  you'd  say  you're  an  open  shop  for  spiritual  visitors  ?  "   cigarette  resting  between  two  digits  near  hip  as  he's  tapping  off  the  ashes,  head  tipping  to  rest  against  the  pilar  as  well.   "  i  do,  very  much  so   ...   i  guess  my  goal  is  getting  the  rest  of  the  world  to  also  believe  in  their  existence.  "   first  sight  of  an  almost  angelic  smile  being  flashed  in  his  general  direction,  unable  to  really  hold  back  one  of  his  own   —-   taking  note  on  how  much  difference  a  smile  could  give  to  somebody's  visuals.   "  would  you  want  to  join  me  for  the  investigation  ?  "   genuine  curiosity,  while  also  wishing  to  witness  if  she  had  any  sort  of  fear   ;   first  impression  giving  vibes  of  sunhee  not  being  afraid  of  anything.

            for  the  past  couple  years  since  meeting  him,  sunny  had  always  known  that  dohyun  was  different,  and  she  could  list  odd  moments  to  prove  it.  she'd  usually  brush  it  off,  convincing  herself  that  he'd  tell  her  when  he  was  ready.  but  now  ?  the  door  of  opportunity  had  swung  wide  open.  "  uhuh,  i  see.  "  she  muses,  mind  racing  through  all  the  ways  she  could  poke  at  the  truth  without  scaring  him  off,  crawling  over  to  his  side  of  the  sofa  with  deliberate  curiosity,  like  a  predator  stalking  its  prey,  "  so,  you  just  took  on  a  group  of  grown  men  .  .  all  by  yourself  ?  "

       eyes  fell  to  the  bandage  evidently  showing  at  his  collar,  having  gotten  most  his  torso  wrapped  up  from  dealing  with  the  wrong  group  of  vampires   ;   his  regular  healing  capabilities  not  sufficiently  curing  the  wound,  unfortunately.   "  white  knight  kind  of  shenanigans.  "   not  entirely  a  lie,  just  leaving  out  the  details.   "  some  guys  was  harassing  some  girl,  and  i  stepped  in.  "

            "  that,  you  are.  "  she  echoes,  and  boy  was  he  a  sight  to  behold.  sunny  hadn't  exactly  braced  herself  to  cross  paths  with  someone  like  him.  already,  her  senses  were  heightened,  though  she  couldn't  tell  if  it  was  just  his  looks  throwing  her  off  balance,  or  if  there  was  something  else  to  it.  eyes  trailing  him  as  he  settled  against  the  pillar,  she  listened  quietly  to  his  reasoning  for  ending  up  at  her  tattoo  shop,  though  she  already  knew  the  place  was  brimming  with  spiritual  energy  for  a  reason.

 a  smirk  tugs  at  the  corner  of  her  lips,  as  she  takes  a  languid  drag  and  holds  it,  words  slipping  out  on  the  exhale,  "  i'm  someone  who  fully  believes  in  them.  been  seeing  them  around  as  a  kid,  interacting  with  them.  "  no  use  sugarcoating  the  truth  there,  "  probably  also  why  my  tattoo  shop  is  frequented  by  them.  "  eyes  scan  over  him  again,  making  no  effort  to  hide  the  once-over,  deliberate  and  bold.  "  and  you  ?  i  take  it  you  believe  in  them,  if  your  channel  is  how  you  explained  it.  "  her  head  tilts  ever  so  slightly,  lips  curled  in  a  soft  smile,  aware  that  without  it,  she  tended  to  look  more  unapproachable.

       amount  of  phone  calls  he  had  attempted  to  make,  a  couple  of  emails  in  case  the  owner  had  been  more  old-fashioned  regarding  appointments  and  yet,  it  had  taken  a  month  to  finally  get  ahold  of  them.  yet,  the  minute  yunjae  walked  closer,  taking  sight  of  the  petite  femme,  all  the  frustrations  having  led  up  to  this  moment  was  all  forgotten.  plump  rosy  lips  wrapped  prettily  around  the  bud  of  a  cigarette,  silhouette  rather  petite  and  yet,  something  about  the  air  around  her  said  she'd  be  tougher  than  most.   "  it's  alright,  i'm  here  now.  "   truly  not  caring,  having  acted  primarily  on  instincts  anyway. 

at  the  offering  he's  fishing  out  a  single  one  and  lets  it  rest  between  full  lips,  igniting  the  end  before  he's  handing  back  the  rather  girlish  lighter. a  subtle  smirk  tugging  at  the  end  of  his  lips  as  he's  leaning  against  the  pilar  in  front  of  her,  sharp  eyes  not  shy  in  running  over  her  stance  while  responding.   "  i  got  reports  saying  it  is haunted,  so  i  figured  i'd  come  check  it  out  before  asking  if  i  could  film  here.  "   not  necessarily  a  lie  but  the  alluring  voice  in  his  head  hadn't  really  made  him  aware  it  was  a  filming  location  before  he  was  already  out  the  door.   "  what's  your  take  on  the  paranormal  ?  "   keeping  tone  formal,  unsure  of  the  age  difference  and  to  also  keep  it  professional,  despite  his  wandering  eyes  while  taking  an  inhale  of  the  cigarette.

            "  how's  your  wound  ?  "  the  female  asks,  resting  back  on  the  plush  leather  material  of  the  sofa,  head  tilting  to  the  side.  "  what  the  heck  even  happened  ??  "

            "  you  can't  just  show  up  here  like  this  .  .  "  she  says  in  a  breathless  exhale,  staring  up  at  the  figure  in  front  of  her,  standing  in  the  doorway  of  her  dressing  room.

            once  the  dim  streetlights  illuminated  his  face,  she  had  to  do  a  double  take.  did  she  anticipate  someone  good-looking  ?  sure,  he  did  mention  having  a  thriving  youtube  channel,  and  while  she  wasn't  the  type  to  cyberstalk,  she  figured  it  meant  he  was  either  charming,  easy  on  the  eyes,  or  both.  but  this  level  of  attractive  ?  unexpected.  "  yeah,  that's  me.  "  sunny  kept  her  cool,  if  there  was  one  thing  she  excelled  at,  it  was  masking  the  fluster.  she  gave  him  a  polite  bow  in  return,  "  my  apologies  if  i  didn't  get  back  to  you  sooner.  "  she  offers,  finding  it  hard  to  look  away  from  him,  though  she  still  breaks  eye  contact  to  glance  down  at  her  cigarette.  "  ah,  yeah.  you  smoke  ?  "  she  asks,  fishing  the  pack  from  the  back  pocket  of  her  jeans,  offering  it  open-palmed  before  producing  a  chrome  lighter  shaped  like  a  heart.  lighting  the  flame  near  his  lips,  she  uses  the  moment  as  an  excuse  to  study  them.  "  so,  tell  me,  what  made  you  want  to  do  your  research  in  my  shop  ?  "

       known  place  by  people  around  town,  the  tattoo  parlor  blanc,  but  there  had  been  this  nagging  voice  in  the  back  of  his  mind,  telling  yunjae  to  keep  contacting  this  place   ;   turning  it  into  a  belief  that  it  was  because  of  the  hauntings  present  there,  unaware  of  the  actual  reason.  approaching  it  and  then  eyes  land  onto  a  silhouette  standing  by  the  entrance,  dark  brown  eyes  landing  on  her  and  his  breath  is  momentarily  taken  out  of  him  for  the  briefest  of  moments.  having  to  keep  sane,  to  keep  his  cool.   "  hey,  are  you  sunhee  ?  "   remembering  the  name  of  the  woman  he  had  spoken  to  on  the  phone,  slowly  approaching  her  while  climbing  the  stairs  and  giving  a  respectful  bow  in  her  general  direction.   "  thanks  for  agreeing  to  meet  up.  "   voice  is  steady  as  he  speaks,  gaze  fallen  to  the  cigarette  resting  between  two  nimble  fingers.   "  got  another  one  ?  "   thick  brow  arch  slightly  in  question,  observant  on  how  she'd  interact  and  how  her  body  language  were.

            sunny  knew  that  he  had  a  way  with  words  right  off  the  bat,  despite  knowing  zero  info  about  the  stranger.  "  well,  as  long  as  you  don't  mind  having  me  around.  "  she  adds  teasingly,  casually  flicking  the  ash  from  her  cigarette  with  the  tip  of  her  thumb,  "  but  how  can  you  be  so  sure  i'm  good  company  ?  what  if  i'm  secretly  a  bad  person  ?  "  one  brow  arches  in  challenge  as  she  takes  another  drag,  letting  the  smoke  settle  in  her  lungs  before  speaking  again,  "  do  all  lost  souls  somehow  stumble  into  your  little  sanctuary  here  ?  "  she  exhales  slow  and  smooth,  emitting  smoke  from  her  lips  and  nostrils.

             he  didn't  move  right  away,  just  leaned  back  against  the  wall  like  he  had  been  there  all  along,  hands  stuffed  into  his  pockets,  gaze  flickering  up  toward  her  through  lazy  half  lidded  eyes.  ❛  depends  ..  ❜  he  said.  ❛  is  it  still  a  secret  if  i  don't  mind  someone  crashing  it  ?  ❜  he  let  the  grin  pull  slow  across  his  lips,  eyes  following  the  trail  of  smoke  she  exhaled  before  meeting  her  gaze  again.  ❛  you  can  stay.  rooftop's  quieter  with  good  company  anyway.  plus  ..  ❜  a  pause,  head  tilting  slightly  as  his  grin  widened.  ❛  kinda  hard  to  kick  someone  out  when  they  look  like  they  belong  here  more  than  i  do.  ❜

            this  wasn't  the  first  time  sunny  had  been  caught  mid-gig,  mid-song  no  less,  distracted  by  a  sudden  apparition.  though  usually,  the  spirits  she  glimpsed  were  the  stuff  of  nightmares.  but  this  time  ?  this  time  was  different.  what  she  saw  wasn't  unsettling  at  all.  if  anything,  it  was  hypnotic.  feeling  byul's  worried  eyes  on  her,  sunny  snapped  back  into  performance  mode,  smoothly  wrapping  up  the  song  and  nearing  the  end  of  their  set,  though  her  gaze  never  quite  left  the  stranger.  those  shifting,  iridescent  patterns  on  her  glinting  faintly  beneath  the  bar's  dim  lights  had  her  thoroughly  captivated.  she  had  to  find  out  who  this  mysterious  woman  was  .  .  and  maybe  uncover  the  story  behind  those  mesmerizing  marks.

౨ৎ ྀི ｡˚                       this truly was a dark , dingy & rather gritty looking place —- perfect . meant she could get her head down and hopefully not be noticed . exhaustion coursing through her body —- soju at the ready . femmes voice against the microphone soothing her . yet , she was conscious of her own steadily disintegrating song —- the heat of patterns aglow beneath her clothing . a shot down in a desperate attempt for did such emotions as she locked eyes with the lead singer , breathe hitched in her throat suddenly .

            closing  up  the  shop  for  the  day,  sunny  followed  her  usual  routine,  as  she  often  preferred  to  handle  the  lock-up  herself  after  a  full  shift.  but  this  evening  wasn't  like  most,  she  was  leaving  the  door  cracked  open  for  a  guest,  someone  who  had  been  trying  to  get  in  touch  with  her  all  month.  naturally,  she  was  no  stranger  to  her  tattoo  parlor  attracting  spirits  and  ghouls,  and  it  had  become  something  of  a  hotspot.  apparently,  her  visitor  was  eager  to  tap  into  that  same  connection,  having  asked  if  he  could  stop  by  to  investigate  for  his  youtube  channel.  waiting  outside  with  one  leg  casually  slung  over  the  other,  sunny  leaned  against  the  wall  by  the  shop's  entrance,  cigarette  lazily  perched  between  her  fingers,  eyes  scanning  the  street  for  any  hint  of  the  mystery  caller.  she  didn't  even  know  what  they  looked  like.  never  much  cared  for  social  media,  really.  so  for  now,  it  was  just  a  waiting  game.

            "  i  didn't  expect  to  find  anyone  else  lurking  up  here.  "  the  girl  remarks  casually,  knees  drawn  up  to  her  chest,  her  back  nestled  against  the  wall.  she  reaches  into  her  body  bag  for  her  ever-reliable  case  and  zippo  lighter,  lighting  a  stick  with  ease.  smoke  curls  from  her  lips  as  she  exhales,  sneaking  a  sideways  glance  at  him.  handsome,  definitely  a  little  younger,  though.  "  so,  is  this  your  secret  hideout  or  something  ?  my  bad  if  i  crashed  the  party.  "
