joypunk / funpunk

joypunk is a movement or ideology, rather than a term for any singular identity. joypunk is closely related to kindness punk and pridepunk/trendercore, and can also be related to choicepunk and genderpunk in certain uses.

joypunk as a movement seeks to emphasize the importance of joy, happiness, and fun in communities, and disrupt the stigma surrounding the need to take one's identity seriously: by placing one's love of themself first and outsiders' understanding second. joypunks will often institute radical inclusion instead of using arbitrary gatekeeping tactics (such as dysphoria-checking or oppression-checking others). joypunks emphasize fun, kindness, and joy in their communities and seek to expand their community understanding beyond simply their oppression and hardships.

an example of a joypunk could be a trans person who emphasizes gender euphoria. this type of joypunk may not have even considered their own level of dysphoria, as it is not important to them - their joy is. a trans joypunk may also identify their gender in relation to memes, photos, concepts, jokes, or other nonconventional means - they may perhaps even identify as xenogender.

i would like to emphasize that while joypunks emphasize their own fun and enjoyment, all joypunks also take care to recognize boundaries and borders. a joypunk does not get to use their fun-first mentality to hurt others through practices such as appropriation and willful ignorance.

Sonnegender can be any of the following:

A gender related to the sun.

A gender influenced by the sun / by the placement of the sun in the sky.

May be stronger during the day and on sunny days.

A gender influenced by a kintype to the sun.

A gender related to the Greek or Roman God Apollo, or the Greek God Helios, or the Roman God Sol, or any other sun deity.

A gender influenced by one’s devotion to any of the aforementioned gods. 

A gender that can be otherwise explained or identified using the sun.

Generathian - A pride flag for those who coin their own genders, or who identify with recently coined genders. Ideal for gender collectors/hoarders who enjoy coming up with words for their own experiences.

Parsic (or parsgender) is a gender identity for people who’s gender identity and/or presentation changes or swaps depending on who or what* they’re interacting with.

i coined the term and both me and @belladonica​ made the flag! (it was really really cool of her to help me out)

Meanings–

Turquoise stands for parsics who’s presentation is louder, more chaotic, and/or have a lot of genders/sides they swap between. Blue stands for the unity between every parsic identifying individual. Violet stands for parsics who’s presentation is quieter, more controlled, and/or have only a few genders/sides they swap between. The turquoise to violet spectrum stands for the varying level of intensity you can experience being parsic. The cube stands for the differing sides/genders you experience.

Orchid is for parsfems who experience differing genders that are primarily feminine and/or exclude masculine

Lime is for parsmascs who experience differing genders that are primarily masculine and/or exclude feminine

White includes all or every possible gender/side that parsics experience BONUS: the parsic cube with the flag colors (transparent below), which can be added to combination flag edits!

*“Who or what” includes people, communities, media, aesthetics, concepts, mood, etc.

Some examples include–

feeling more feminine-aligned when consuming wlw content but also maybe feeling more masculine-aligned when consuming mlm content

presenting more gender neutral when interacting with others who identify similarly

changing what pronouns you use depending on a specific aesthetic you’re going for on a social media page

This might make it sound chameleon like, but it’s NOT about mirroring or blending in with others; this label is for people who feel like they have too many conflicting, pre-established “sides” to their gender identity, and that they maybe aren’t as consistent as they would like to be.

Parsic can be seen as similar to genderfluid and definitely overlaps, but where being genderfluid can be more random and differ moment to moment, being parsic generally means you have a “set” of static identities that can change depending on the mood or setting. This also means that you can be parsic no matter how many genders you have, you just have to have more than one you swap between!

The name is based on the Latin word “pars”, meaning part, side, region, component, etc. This word was chosen to represent the feeling of your gender being faceted like a gemstone or having different sides like a box or set of dice. This label can be used as an identity on it’s own OR a descriptor. i.e. parsic genderfluid, parsic bigender, parsic demigirl, etc.
