as someone not from the US I gotta say jaywalking sounds like one of the dumbest crimes ever invented

So people just cross the road here? Like they don't wait for the light every time? When I was a kid everyone told me that if I jaywalked I would get run over. I was walking around yesterday and a bunch of people just jaywalked right in front of cop. The cop was doing something else but wtf! If you are from Boston could you please explain this to me.

I just completed this drawing of a tiktaalik :]

I wanted to avoid the trope of depicting tiktaalik crawling out of the water, forever trapped in this liminal space between water and land. I think the images of many prehistoric animals in popular culture tend to be reduced down to one simple thing they're known for, and I want to remind everyone who sees my art that these were real animals with complex lives.

my sister called 21 old recently and like. she's 11, and I know younger kids don't always have to best sense of perspective. but I can't help but worry a bit for her generation

The social attitude regarding age is consistently getting weirder. You’re not ‘pushing 30’ you’re just in your late 20s. 30 is not old and neither is 40 while I’m at it. Growing older is an enormous privilege and displaying that age is a gorgeous component of life. Spending your days trying to reverse that grace breeds an eternally wasted life.
