“i need you to come investigate my place — i‘m pretty sure it’s haunted,” leon teased dramatically as he drew closer to the other. “it’s constantly cold, there’s creaks in the middle of the night, i keep having these vivid dreams of a handsome man in my bed but no one is there. actually, now that i think of it, he kind of looked like you,” he playfully stated, reaching out to gently tap underneath the other’s chin. “i haven’t heard from you in a while. have you found someone else?” he asked, glancing away to mask his thoughts from showing through. “i don’t want you thinking i expect you to be exclusive to me or anything… i would like to know just in case.” be nosy more like it.

a small smirk formed on yunlan’s lips as he tilted his head to the side slightly, “oh? this must be a new haunting, i’ve spent a few nights at your place and don’t recall sensing anything off. maybe you’ve manifested a poltergeist with how much energy you always seem to have.” he teased as he reached out to place his hands on leon’s hips. “did you want me to ask boris to handle it instead? he might shit his pants at the chance to handle something like this.” he continued to try to get a rise out of the other as he playfully stuck his tongue out at leon. “honestly it’s nothing like that, i’ve just been busy. i found something that i never thought to uncover and now i’m throwing myself back into my work.” he confessed. “what about you? What have you been up to? your life is always more exciting than mine.”

while kaz was quite used to the drunks of the club trying to flirt with him and could easily put them in their place, some were rather stubborn. normally, he would have them removed, but he did not want to have to go through the trouble in front of all the patrons. plus, he saw a small opportunity as his eyes caught sight of jax. it was an awful idea — and he was fairly good at making up successful ideas — but he felt as though jax would allow it considering his rebellious nature. he approached the other, gloved hand very carefully and just barely touching jax’s chin to lift it up. he leaned in and pressed his lips to the other’s, allowing them to linger just a moment before pulling away slightly. “for the moment, you’re my boyfriend. this will benefit in your drive to go against your sister’s wish of not associating with me and will keep that woman from trying to sleep with me,” he said, vaguely motioning to the woman at the bar. he could feel a strange sickness in his stomach, but he tried to ignore it.

after a tough day at work, the only thing on jax’s mind was being able to escape all his troubles for a while. he was sitting at the bar at pleasure island, simply enjoying the atmosphere really, when he was suddenly approached by a familiar face. before he could open his mouth to greet kaz, the other boldly reached out to tilt his chin upward. while the touch was featherlight, it was enough to cause a flicker of confusion to appear in his eyes as he stared up at the other — but not a single word was uttered. any confusion he felt morphed into surprise as their lips connected in a kiss, unable to truly return it before space was created between them once more. kaz’s words caught him off guard, briefly feeling silly for thinking that this was some sort of strange random confession on the other’s part. he masked that bittersweet feeling with a smirk, before leaning in to whisper in the other’s ear. “you realize i actually have to touch you to be convincing, right? beyond just a simple kiss. is that alright with you?” even now he wanted to take kaz’s comfort into account. “i want to be a good boyfriend after all.” he teased, a breathy chuckle escaping him and the air tickling the shell of kaz’s ear.

sophie balanced delicately on the picket fence, her paws which were once feet barely touching the wood’s surface. to avoid the water covered trail she had been walking on, she used her newly acquired form to help her. once the sandy colored tabby reached the end she hopped off of the fence landing delicately on her feet. as soon as her feet hit the ground the little sand colored cat swiftly changed into a young woman. dusting off the front of her dress sophie, continued back on to the dry ground but not before she realized that she wasn’t only, causing her eyes to grow wide. “ i- didn’t see you there, “ she admitted sheepishly. 

luke was on his way back to his apartment after a long swim in the woods, feeling freer than he had in a long time. although on his way home he couldn’t help but become distracted by the presence of a cat, the cat landing a few mere feet away from him before suddenly transforming into a woman. it caught him completely off guard as a small gasp escaped him, stumbling backward as his eyes widened in surprise. “uh… wow, i don’t think anything could top seeing what you just did.” there was obvious disbelief in his voice. “if you were worried about no one seeing you, don’t worry. i’m not going to tell anyone about this all.” he would hope that anyone would do the same if they stumbled upon him in the lake and saw his new tail.

steven found himself looking down at the cut, mind going momentarily to some sort of mortality-based existential thought before it was cut off and thrown away by the other’s words. he pursed his lips as he took the napkin, pressing it against the wound before carefully standing up. he didn’t feel right for leaving the mess behind. but, he supposed the other was right — he probably should have let a staff member tend to it. “i wasn’t expecting it to be so sharp,” he said as he walked with the other into the bathroom. “i mean, it’s glass. but, so easy,” he said, mind still cloudy from the drink. it was embarrassing and his sober self would hate him for it later. “thank you. i promise i’m not usually stupid. i’m just having a hard time and using that as an excuse to be a mess,” he stated honestly.

bill’s eyes remained locked on the other as he proceeded to press the napkin to the open cut, beginning to lead the way toward the bathroom once the other had risen to his feet. a soft chuckle spilled from his lips as he shot a glance over his shoulder at the man, “s-sometimes we need a reminder of how d-dangerous little things are. one simple s-shard can cause a deep cut.” he mused, pausing to push open the bathroom’s door and allow the other to enter before he did so. “you don’t have to apologize to me at all. even though i m-may not seem like it… i’ve been a mess tonight as well. just before r-running into you, i was having a panic attack on the balcony. so you’re in good c-company, i’m not here to judge you.” he was hoping that his candidness would help ease the other’s nerves just a little bit.

Dusk chuckled softly shaking her head softly “I mean probably, I was expecting a stranger some creep, but let me just say I’m glad it’s you, I genuinely enjoy your company and I’m glad you are out of the theater right now I feel like you live there, kind of like me at the recording studio, we both work way too hard sometimes you know?” She sighed tapping the book softly with her finger “Yeah you know how it goes, I put too much pressure on myself to get it perfect, Thorn and Luna write such beautiful songs with ease and I just wanted to contribute to make it easier on them? But I’ve just put so much pressure on myself it’s like I can’t come up with one full good idea.” She raised an eyebrow at his offer thinking for a moment humming as she did “You know what, fuck it maybe a break is just what I need and I think maybe a movie and change of scenery will do me good, but I only have one condition with the popcorn we have to mix in m&ms it’s my favorite way to eat popcorn it’s really good I promise if you haven’t tried it before.”

Julian chuckled softly as he tilted his head to the side slightly, “Are you saying I’m not a creep?” He teased, shaking his head slightly. It was a common insult hurled toward him, just because he wasn’t exactly the best when it came to conducting himself in social situations. “My parents have been saying something similar lately, they keep complaining about how much time I spend working. But, there’s nothing wrong with doing what you’re passionate about… right? Although, maybe we should start taking a few more breaks.” There was nothing wrong with stepping away every once in a while, even though it was often difficult for Julian. He let out a musing hum of acknowledgment at her comment, “The artistic process isn’t something that can be rushed, unfortunately. I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to pressure yourself too much… something will come to you eventually and when it does, I know it will be great.” He wasn’t necessarily the best at comforting people, but he was decently good at cheering his friends on. Maybe because it felt less forced? He lit up the moment Dusk agreed to go along with his suggestion, figuring this was something they both needed. A little break and some bonding time together. “Mixing m&ms into the popcorn is the only way to go! That and using red vines as a straw to drink coke.” He chuckled. “C’mon.” He smiled as he stood up and easily extended his hand toward her.

antonia found herself beaming, such a smile uncharacteristic for her. but, the other was genuinely enjoyable — a giver of good energy. she laughed slightly as she watched the other curtsey, shaking her head. “oh my god, you don’t have to go that far. but, i do feel very special — especially when you think i’m going to have any factor in overwhelming people when you do that all on your own,” she said, taking the girl’s hand in hers. “you really are so pretty, though. i bet you haven’t danced with anyone yet because you’ve had plenty of mediocre men flying to you like a moth to a flame,” she said lightly, nose crinkling up slightly. it was easy to understand why the other didn’t want to dance with anyone else when she was looking as she was and everyone else wasn’t even to her level. so, antonia counted her blessings with being able to dance with the other.

sarah couldn’t help but chuckle as she tilted her head to the side, easily beginning to move in time with the music once their hands were joined. “i’ve been told that i’m overwhelming before, but it’s not usually seen as a good thing. it’s the quiet beauties that everyone truly admires, the mystery that wallflowers like you carry with them only adds to the intrigue.” she chuckled softly as she allowed her hand that rested on the other’s shoulder to gently caress it. “but as for being swarmed by mediocre men, i feel like that’s the theme for tonight. tell me how every woman here is dressed to the nines and yet every man looks like they just bought the same suit? i don’t envy anyone who has to try and keep track of their date tonight, it’d be an impossible task.” she teased, scrunching her nose up slightly. “but, i’m really glad that you decided to ask me.”

meeting new people over dating apps was usually a miss for ryan, but she was lonely and sought some sort of stimulating company to distract her from her work. she had been sitting on a marble bench within the museum for the past hour, nervously glancing down at her phone in hopes that she would see a message of apology from the woman that she was waiting on. she let out a gentle sigh and nervously fiddled with her blazer before glancing upward and locking eyes with a familar face that stood behind the desk within the main entrance. “you probably think i’m a loser or extremely weird just sitting here…” she chuckled, trying to lighten the mood a bit and play off the situation as a whole. “it’s been an hour, do you think i should just give up and leave?” it was weird attempting small-talk with someone who used to be your best friend.

Stiles hummed softly as he toyed with his necklace, honestly he was doing it to keep his hands busy from constantly checking his phone for the time, the other was over twenty minutes late, which was rather unlike them, his eyes trailed back to his computer trying to do something to take his mind off the fact they were so late, because now he was beginning to worry that something bad had happened, instead of how honestly, they probably overslept from a nap. He was so focused on his online assignment that at first he didn’t notice someone sitting in front of him, the only thing that clued him in was they threw a straw wrapper at him to get his attention, he looked up at them and let out a small chuckle saving his work on his computer before turning his attention to the other“You came, I won’t lie I was beginning to worry something really bad happened to you, like you got hit by a car or fell down a manhole or something, or something more rational and more realistic is that you had forgotten or overslept, but I’m glad you’re here.” 

Despite being an extremely solitary individual, Rey had managed to make a few select friends over the years. Stiles just so happened to be one of them, a friend that she held quite dear. She had made a quick stop before meeting up with the other, grabbing him a strawberry danish from Salinger’s as a small treat. It wasn’t much. But hopefully, it would make him smile. She was scoping out the area in the library where they had agreed to meet, a small smile forming the moment she spotted him. She was quick to cross the room and plop down at the table that he was seated at, a small snort escaping her as she heard his comment. “With my luck, that’s probably not too strange of an assumption. But luckily, I made it here in one piece… with this.” She plopped the bag that contained the still warm danish down in front of him. “I hope this makes up for me being late. A woman at the cafe decided she wanted to order like six drinks, which explains the holdup.” Her lips pursed into a thin line. “How’s your assignment coming along?” Sometimes she envied her friends that were enrolled in university, most of the time that wasn’t the case — especially when she saw how much coursework they had.

kaz let out a sigh as he looked to the table, a thoughtful and strangely softer expression coming over his features. “nothing will ever be easy,” he said before glancing back over to the other. it was clear the other had a bright spirit that refused to be dampened — much like the unrelenting sun in summer. but, there was always a winter, a shorter day, clouds, and the night sky. there would be times of hardship for someone like this person, and he wouldn’t be prepare for it. at the very least, kaz could give him a warning. “but, things are always easier to forgive when you’re forthcoming with them rather than keeping a secret that will unveil itself eventually in the worst way,” he continued. he was surprised the other — olaf — wanted to update him on the progress of his talk with his brother. normally, kaz wouldn’t care to know. but, there was something about the other that made him want to ensure that things would come out well. after all, olaf was living the life he should have had with his brother. “i must say it was a surprise to meet you, olaf. i’m kaz. i’m sure your brother — if he proves to care or not — wouldn’t like that you’re here. but, you’re welcome back, even if it’s just to tell me how your talk goes. if he is unkind to you, i implore that you tell me,” he said, voice low and serious.

while olaf had spent so much time thinking that forcing marshall to address their shared trauma and how it had torn them apart would only make things worse, he was starting to think that wasn’t the case. there was only so long the two could go on simply sweeping things underneath the rug before their relationship was damaged beyond repair. just because it wasn’t going to be easy doesn’t mean it wasn’t unnecessary for them both. “you’re right… in the end, i think choosing to suffer alone has been the poorest decision that either of us could have made.” he wasn’t usually this upfront and candid when it came to the thoughts surrounding the shaky past that he and his brother shared, but it felt nice to consult an unbiased party on this all. but it wasn’t long before a gentle smile spread across olaf’s lips as the other introduced himself and told him that he was free to return whenever he wished. “i hope by your standards it was a good surprise. thank you again for letting me hide out here and listening to me vent, i appreciate it. i definitely wouldn’t mind returning again, you’re nice to talk to, kaz.” he chirped. “i’ll definitely tell you how the whole talk goes, although if it doesn’t go well it will probably be my fault and not marshall’s.”
