spoilers for bllk ch 308 below cut//
this final page kind of struck me.
sae is saying that for those with true ambition and ego, blue lock is nothing more than a stepping stone. yet here we have nagi who, after getting kicked out, isn't mourning his "dream of being the best in the world" but rather the experience of blue lock itself. he doesn't care that he can't reach the top, only that he won't be able to feel that passion again. blue lock isn't a stepping stone for him. nagi is satisfied with being in blue lock forever.
it makes me think about the reoccurring "coming of age" theme in blue lock and how it uses soccer and the program as a metaphor for it. nagi particularly is the least developed out of the cast in terms of his maturity and identity. he is still a "chick" filled with purity.
nagi doesn't think about the future the same way the other boys do. he doesn't have any big aspirations. he's hardly had the same experiences as other teenagers because he's been alone for most of it. then, he finally finds something he feels excited about. he started "living" only for it to be quickly taken away because he is unable to keep up with others around him. they are ready to move forward into this new chapter but nagi isn't. he still wants to stay in the sheltered safe environment of blue lock and believe, like a little kid, that everything will stay the same.
I wonder if Nagi's story will parallel sae's in some way and that's why their storylines are overlapping in this chapter?
similar to nagi, sae also had to leave the comfort of his home country, Japan, where he was considered a genius. yet, we can presume that when he did, he had a rude awakening as to what the rest of the world was like. everyone else is so far above him while sae is getting left behind, struggling to change. if that's the case, maybe he had a similar breakdown as nagi did.
honestly, I have no clue where nagi's story is going to go from here, even if he eventually joins the buratsuta 3. these are just of my thoughts attempting to break down the interesting (albeit jarring) pace and structure we've had so far (:
I will say that I think Kaneshiro is more intentional than we give him credit for. If sae and nagi were both included together in this chapter for seemingly no practical reason, I think there has to be another purpose behind it.

? they're really adding the 2022 wc rule modification here, wasn't the roster number increase supposed to be in response to covid? has this rule actually been there all along, or was it added for buratsuta and ego's deal? also they most likely did snatch the hosting bid from poland, only months? prior to the start date. in dire need of blue lock's outsider pov rn
#another series i like just happened to bring up football politics too so. 🚶here i am i guess#barasbs#blue lock#the roster thing was probably already implemented before blue lock in-universe idk#feels like its intentionally kept hidden for this twist reveal

I know you see a lot of pain on these platforms, but please give me just a moment. We’re living under a brutal siege, and hunger is eating away at our bodies. We can’t take it anymore. The exhaustion is beyond words.
I’ve written and shared our suffering many times. Some of you have supported us and offered help—others have responded with hate and cruelty. But I keep writing, because hope is still alive.
Please, if there’s anything you can do—donate, share, or even just repost—do it. We’re not asking for much. Just what keeps a human being alive.
All I want is a simple life: clean water, electricity, food, and safety. To sleep without the fear of bombs. To live like any other human being.
Your donation today could mean a meal, medicine, or a way to survive. We’re desperately waiting for the crossing to open, hoping it’ll be our way out of this nightmare.
If you’re still reading this—thank you, truly. Please follow me, share this post, and donate if you can.

Thank you for your time, and thank you to every heart that still feels with us.

From A tehrani resident who barely got out let me inform you of some of the things currently going on here:
Israel bombed two of the highways leading out of tehran, both are blocked now. The remaining highways had heavy traffic until few hours ago. After israel bombed every oil tanks and refineries around tehran, a shortage of petrol happened. Now most petrol stations are out of work and if you're lucky enough to find one that's still operating, you have to stay in hours long lines in hopes of getting max 15 liters of petrol. So even with a car, it's not guaranteed you can get very far from the city.
There's also the matter of where to go and stay. The bank system is half working, no cash available at the time. And you can't exactly sleep in the deserts around the city. Most people still stuck in tehran don't have anywhere to go and they don't have the money to afford relocating themselves (it's always the lower class that gets the worst hits)
All of these are beside the fact that most people can't leave the city under any circumstance. They have chronic illnesses, they have sick family members who needs care, they work as emergency workers and can't leave their lines of duty.
But these mfs don't care about human life getting destroyed. It's just numbers to them, expendables. Our own government has abandoned people to die horrible deaths, they never cared and they don't care now. People of iran are worth nothing to nobody. It's Gaza all over again.
I have family and friends still in tehran who can't leave. I'm bracing myself for the worst case scenario. I hope all those who start war, add fuel to the flames of war, encourage it and cheer for it, burn and rot in hell. I don't really believe in hell and afterlife, but I hope it's all real just to see these people get what they deserve
