Just a reminder that four months ago there was a Republican-led attempted coup in DC at the Capitol. Since that time hundreds have been investigated, dozens arrested, but the GOP still claims it wasn’t them! They want you to ignore the Trump flags or the social media calls for violence. They want to believe the Big Lie that the election was fraudulent. The attempted coup is not over. It’s just a slow-motion coup that has been taking place for a while. It undermines our democracy and our system of government- and it’s being fueled by right wing echo chambers, Russian disinformation campaigns, and a willfully ignorant populace that no longer hides its racism. It’s not over yet and it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better. These anti-democratic Republicans will likely take over Congress in less than two years. Think about that and get scared, then motivated to help save our democracy. This isn’t a left-right divide anymore. It’s about democracy vs authoritarianism. The Democratic Party is the deeply flawed but only functioning governing party in the US. It’s Noah’s Ark - it smells bad and it’s full of s***, but it’s the one thing that still floats.
