Design III Phase II: Future Exchange
Experiment in Materials for Business
-Target is developing pattern tiles for its suburban stores to enable the company to come up with the new way of compartmentalizing merchandise. -Target is developing pattern tiles to enable customers and guests to engage and interact to the sign like flooring. -Target is developing Cherry Merry to enable the store to expose goods in all (round) directions. -Target is developing Jolly to enable customers and guests to engage and experience environment created by the curved shelves.

Phase 2: The mechanism
Thomas Heatherwick’s Device
The device allows you to experiment different materials with specic rules and methods. The mechanisms of the device represent Heatherwicks design processes. With the input materials, the instrument constraints and gives the possibilities of output in small scale base on Heatherwicks design techniques; Spining, Extruding, Adding, Subtracting, Folding, and Relating.

Design III Beg, Borrow, Steal Project
Phase 1: The code: Draw
This phase is about analyzing and interpreting the architectural language and code of the renowned architect, Thomas Heatherwick. After the long research over the features in his works, how he made choices beyond constraints, what factors influence his design, and the details over his significant projects, I was conceived that the code of Heatherwick is ‘experimenting materials.’ Heatherwick experiments material to get the possibilities of form in small scale depends on the offering of the characteristics of each material. There are six processes he used within his experiment; adding, subtracting, spinning, extruding, folding, and relating.
