You got any wholesome headcannons for both the Wii Fit Trainers? I've been pretty interested with them recently.
Here’s some!
Their names are Wanda (Female) and Jacob (Male)
They’re a married couple! They’ve been together for about 9 years
Before coming to Smash, they ran a yoga/fitness studio in a suburban neighborhood
The invitation to Smash was originally a job offer to be the fighters’ personal trainers; Master Hand saw them participate during a few practice matches and was impressed enough to promote them.
Still, even if it’s not their jobs anymore, the Wii Fit Trainers like to keep tabs on the other fighters’ health. They aren’t pushy about it, but they want to make sure their new friends are taking care of themselves!
They’re decent cooks, but have a tough time sharing meals because they have very different taste buds. Wanda hates fruits/sweets and loves spicy food, while Jacob hates vegetables and prefers blander foods. They’ll still cook meals that they know the other will like, just because they want to see them happy.
Wanda gets along well with the grumpier fighters like Wolf and Dark Pit; she’s pretty intuitive when it comes to navigating emotions, even from fighters who aren’t very open.
Jacob loves dogs, and often visits the assist trophy house to take care of the nintendogs.

In which Lucas still didn't get over his moher and brother's loss, and Rosalina sees her /younger/ self in him. (I recommend you to watch "Rosalina's Storybook" from SMG in case you didn't watch it already. It's a very touching story).
(Thank you for the submission!)
The lowrumble of thunder sounded from outside, and Lucas grimaced. Reluctantly, heuncurled a hand from under the blanket he was wrapped under to reach for the TVremote next to him. He turned the volume up, sighed, and tried to relax.
Thepsychic was supposed to be spending the day out in town with his friends; butwaking up that morning with a small fever had quickly put an end to that plan.Of course, they had all offered to stay inside and postpone the trip, but Lucasdidn’t want to be the one to hold them back, and insisted they go without him.
Thoughthat now meant he was stuck inside, with nothing better to do than sit in his dimly lit room andwatch re-runs of old cartoons. It wasn’t all bad; a lot of fighters had stoppedby to check on him. But now the weather had taken a turn for the worse, seemingly dragging Lucas’ mood down with it.
He wasn’texactly afraid of thunder and lightning. Lucasnever had any problems when in battle and using PK Thunder or facing offagainst fighters like Pikachu. But something about thunderstorms always seemedto make him upset and nervous, no matter how many times he tried to convincehimself to get over it.
Lucascould only suppose it was because it had been storming on the night his motherdied. The sound of thunder blended perfectly with the heavy thuds of a drago’sfootsteps. The quick flashes of light brought to mind the look on Claus’ faceas the two of them were pushed into the river, and again when he raised his swordto deal the final blow-
Hescrambled for the TV remote once more, tapping urgently on the volume button. Lucaswanted the grating sounds to force him to pay attention to the cartoon anddrown out his negative thoughts. The psychic tried his best to focus on thedistraction. It worked to some degree, as he hadn’t noticed the door to hisroom opening and Luma wandering in until the little star had poked his cheek.
Lucasyelped, flinching away from the touch until he realized who it was. “Sorry!”Luma squeaked.
“It’salright, you just startled me.” He smiled, reaching out to pat Luma on thehead. The star squealed in delight, cuddling up to Lucas as the door to hisroom creaked open further.
Rosalinadrifted inside, carrying a silver tray decorated by a tea set inside. “Hello, Lucas.”She smiled at him softly. “I heard you were sick, so I’ve brought you some tea.”
Without waitingfor a reply, she set the tray on the bedside table and set to work on pouringhim a cup. “I make this whenever my Lumas feel ill. I’m certain it’ll help youfeel better, too.” Rosalina said. She dropped a single star bit into the hotdrink, then handed the cup to Lucas.
“Thank you…”The psychic mumbled. He wasn’t really sure if he was in the mood for company, oreven tea, but Rosalina’s expectant stare left him little room to decline. Hetook a hesitant sip. The concoction was incredibly sweet; it almost felt likeLucas was drinking pure sugar. Still, it was warm, and that was enough for him.
But thetea and Rosalina’s presence just brought back more memories of his own mother.More thunder echoed from outside, and his gaze dropped to the teacup, staring vacantlyat the honey-colored drink as he tried to will himself not to cry.
“Lucas?”Luma whined. It was as if it could sense the psychic’s foul mood; the littlestar clung onto Lucas’ arm, shedding a few tears as it tried to cuddle him.
He didn’trespond, too lost in his own thoughts. Rosalina frowned at the display. Thelook on Lucas’ face was one she was plenty familiar with; and between theteacup in his hands and Luma hovering around him, it was all too easy for her tostart drawing comparisons.
She shutthe TV off and took a seat next to him on the bed. “Are you alright?” Rosalina asked, gently placing a hand on his shoulder.
Thegesture seemed to help draw the boy out of his thoughts. He smiled at her. “Y-Yeah,sorry. Thank you for the tea, it really helped.”
The spaceprincess frowned. “That’s not what I meant.”
“Oh…”Lucas blushed, embarrassed at the thought that she’d read him so easily. Heshook his head. “I’m just… thinking about my family. Don’t worry, I’m okay.”
Rosalinadidn’t seem convinced. She stayed quiet, and for a moment Lucas wondered if he’dsaid something wrong. “I’m sure you are ‘okay’,” she finally said. “But is thatenough for you? Don’t you think you should aim a little higher?”
Lucas gavea half-committed shrug. “I guess?”
The spaceprincess hummed, as if mulling over her thoughts. “Forgive me if I’moverstepping, Lucas.” She spoke quietly. “I may not have known your motherpersonally, but I do know what it’s like to be a mother. And I’m certain that she wouldn’t wantyou to live with just feeling ‘okay’ all the time. She’d want you to be happy.”
“I know.”Lucas sighed. “And I’m trying. I’m just not there yet.”
Rosalina nodded, finally satisfied with her answer. She reached out and ruffled his hairaffectionately. “That’s fine. It’s still okay to be sad from time to time, too.”The space princess stood, ruffling his hair one more time before she left. “Butif you’re feeling up to it later, I was thinking of baking a few batches ofcookies, and I’d love to have a partner.”

What do you think the smashers would think of Etika if they knew about him? You can skip if you want if this is a weird or sensitive topic, but RIP Etika
I’m sorry, but I think I have to skip on this one. I’m also sorry if it’s strange I’m answering this publicly, but I’m worried if I give no response it might come off as cold or uncaring, which is the exact opposite of the truth. What happened with Etika was VERY tragic, and I just don’t have it in me to fill this request.
Rest in Peace, Etika. 😔

Prompt: How did Bowser Jr. and his Koopaling siblings all attempt (and fail) to escape Galeem's onslaught on the Nintendo multiverse, and the fear they felt during it all.
(Thank you for the submission!)
They’dhardly been paying any attention to the floating creature in the sky anymore. The koopalings were still a fair distance from the cliffside, and from theirperspective the thing hardly seemed to be moving. However, its appearance hadsparked the debate that Bowser Jr and his siblings now found themselves having.
Initially,Bowser didn’t have much of a problem allowing his children to accompany him andthe other Smashers to face this mysterious new threat that had just made itselfknown. But before they could all reach the cliffside together, the king hadsuddenly changed his mind and ordered them to return to the manor.
Now, thekoopalings were divided. Bowser Jr, along with Roy, Wendy, and Morton, weren’tbothered at all by their father’s change in attitude. It was just some dumbmonster, and there were so many other fighters on their side that it would beimpossible for them to lose. What would the other smashers think once theyfound out that when the fighting got serious, the koopalings were the type torun away and hide?
Alternatively,Lemmy, Iggy, Ludwig, and Larry couldn’t shake the bad feelings they had intheir guts. Bowser was not the type to shelter them from fighting. Obviously,or none of them would even be in Smash. None of them would have ever gotteninto fights with Mario. If Bowser felt the need to protect them from thisstrange being, the four of them weren’t sure they wanted to find out why.
Thearguing had distracted them from the bigger problem at hand, and before theyknew it, the creature seemed to disappear into a black hole. A moment later, iterupted into countless streams of light that stained the sky.
Allconversation was promptly cut off as the siblings looked at the display with amix of awe and trepidation. Ludwig was the first to notice what was happening.“It’s coming towards us!” He shouted as the light bent and weaved in oddpatterns, stretching to reach every crevice it could find.
“W-What dowe do?!” Larry yelped.
Iggyyelled at his siblings to run at the same time Morton called for them toattack. But the light was fast approaching, and there just wasn’t enough timefor them to come up with a coherent plan.
Bowser Jrwas indecisive, unsure if this new threat was something that could be fought orif it really was worth it to run away. His mind was quickly made up for him, watchingin horror as Roy and Morton fired their clown cannons. The impact of the cannonballswas nonexistent; the light simply swallowed the objects whole, along with histwo siblings less than a second later.
They wereall sent into a panic. Bowser Jr scrambled to turn his clown car around and speedaway. From somewhere behind him, he thought he could hear Wendy shrieking. Theyoung koopa didn’t know if it was from sheer terror, because everyone wasscreaming at that point, or if she’d been the next victim. There was no timefor him to turn around and check.
Bowser Jr’sscream had turned into whimpers as beams of light flew past his head and grazedthe clown car. None of them had hit directly yet, but they were closing in fast.
Ahead ofhim, Iggy, Larry and Lemmy seemed to be doing a better job of escaping. Theymust have gotten a head start, as they still had some distance between them anda large portion of the beams. It gave them enough time to dodge the ones thatgot too close.
But they couldn’tkeep it up forever. In his haste to evade an incoming stream of light, Lemmy’sclown car slammed into a rock. The poor koopa was sent flying, slamming straightinto Iggy, the two of them hitting the ground hard. He was too far away to hearit, but Bowser Jr could see Larry shouting as he turned his car around to tryand save his fallen siblings.
The youngkoopa had almost caught up to the three of them. He reached an arm out inanticipation, ready to pick up his siblings and continue running. But the lightreached them before he ever could, the shadows of Larry, Iggy, and Lemmy dissipatinginto dust before his very eyes.
His clowncar was still moving, but Bowser Jr was frozen in place. It felt like time hadstopped, his arm still outstretched towards nothing. Eventually, a choked sobbubbled up from his throat. Tears blurred his vision, but Bowser Jr was beyondthe point of caring. He sank down to the bottom the clown car and cried, not botheringto stop the machine from moving, yet already accepting the fact that hissiblings were gone and there was no escape.
At leasthe didn’t have to wait long for the light to catch up to him.

I wanted to fit everyone in but it’d be kinda difficult to go into specifics for each individual character, so instead I tried making a tier list based on who would be friends with/interested in talking to/fans of/etc. with who. Here it is!

So, in the Splatoon universe, all but a few mammals have gone extinct, so when the inklings meet say Fox, or really anyone with fur, they really wanna touch it
(Thank you for the submission!)
Back in Inkopolis, Judd and Lil’Juddcould act like such enigmas at times. Inkling distinctly remembered the firstand only time the cats allowed her to pet them. The two were so soft and warm, unlike anything she’d ever felt before. Afterwards, she’d sometimes dream aboutwhat it would be like to be able to pet Judd and Lil’Judd whenever she wanted, for as long as she wanted.
Upon moving to Smash, she wasastounded to find so many of her new comrades had fur, much like the cats sheknew back home. Now, Inkling was starting to wonder what it would feel like ifshe could pet them instead.
She couldn’t bring herself to ask ifshe could, however. It seemed like such an odd request to ask of people who shehadn’t been around for very long, and who were used to seeing others with fureverywhere they went. Inkling didn’t want to give off the wrong impression, andno matter how much she wanted to, she knew she’d be far too embarrassed to eventry asking.
Up until now, Inkling had done a goodjob of keeping her resolve. But temptation was slowly wearing her down, andthis moment was finally the breaking point.
The girl had been passing through thehalls, minding her own business until she spotted Fox nearby. The space pilotwasn’t paying any attention to her, already deep in conversation with anotherfighter. More importantly, his tail lazily swished behind him, soft and fluffyand very distracting for Inkling. Impulsively, she reached out and grabbed itbefore she even realized what she was doing.
“I was thinking that – h-hey!” Foxstopped mid-sentence as he felt the sudden pressure on his tail. The spacepilot spun around to find the culprit.
Inkling, on the other hand, wasbrought back to reality by the sound of Fox’s voice. She drew her hand backfrom his tail as if it had just burned her, mortified to realize what she’ddone. “S-Sorry!” The girl stammered, struggling to find a way to explainherself.
Fox eyed her with trepidation. Itwasn’t unusual for people to poke at his tail every now and then, plenty of theyounger smashers did it to prank him. But Inkling wasn’t showing a shred of herusual mischievous side; she looked utterly embarrassed.
“It’s fine, it’s not like it hurt oranything.” He shrugged. The space pilot looked at her expectantly, wondering ifshe’d say anything else.
“Sorry.” Inkling apologized oncemore. “I wasn’t really thinking. Your tail just looked so fluffy and… ugh, sorry.” She cringed at her own words. It felt like she was only making a biggerfool of herself than she already had.
Fox frowned, still confused at Inkling’sodd attitude, until a thought struck him and the realization sank in. “That’sright… there’s no mammals where you’re from, are there?”
“No what?”
“Uh, people with fur.” The spacepilot corrected.
Inkling shook her head. “We’ve gotJudd and Lil’Judd! But they’re the only ones. And they don’t like it when peoplepet them without permission, so…” she sheepishly averted her gaze.
“Makes sense.” Fox mused. “But youdon’t have to be so shy around here. Some fighters like being pet, actually. Iknow Pikachu loves it.”
“Really?” Inkling looked at him like he’djust handed her the keys to her own Landmaster. When he nodded, her face brokeinto a wicked grin, and she raced off down the hall.
//
She found Pikachu lounging aroundoutside, curled up at the base of a tree and letting the sunlight soak into hisfur. He perked up as she knelt down to his level, looking at her curiously.
“Pikachu!” Inkling beamed at him. “Doyou like being pet? Can I pet you?”
“Pika!” The mouse pokemon exclaimed, eagerlynudging his head against her hand.
The girl complied immediately, giddyas she pat the pokemon on the head, watching as he moved to let her reach thespots he wanted her to and letting out small squeaks of satisfaction. It feltmuch like petting the fur on Judd and Lil’Jud, but her hands tingled ever-so-slightlyas she pet Pikachu, probably due to the electricity generated by the pokemon. Inklingwas fascinated, sitting herself down at the tree’s base and pulling Pikachu intoher lap. The mouse didn’t mind, cuddling up to her as she kept petting him.
Oh my cod. She squealedinternally at the sign of affection. I’mso glad I accepted my Smash invitation. This is the best!

Can i please have some lucas headcannon s
Of course!
He likes making clothes, though he’s not much of a fashionista and keeps his designs pretty plain. He made all of his alt outfits himself.
Lucas is still shy around people he doesn’t know very well, but he’s much less of a crybaby than he was compared to the beginning of Mother 3 or during Brawl. He has more of a “do no harm, but take no shit” personality now.
He adores pokemon and is guilty of smuggling a couple of mareep and a sunkern out of the pokemon world and into his home (thankfully, they get along just fine with the other animals). One day, he hopes to take the time to go on his own journey through a region.
He’s usually pretty open when talking about his feelings, because he knows a lot of the other fighters have also been through rough times and can understand his situation.
He likes country music, and Ness makes fun of him for it.

Hi I want Snake x Otacon x Leon x Mii Streetfighter™ but make it as heterosexual as possible plz and ty
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Otacon was at his desk one day busy doing whatever Otacon does at his desk. He was so busy, in fact, that he didn’t notice Snake walk into the room, who wasn’t wearing a shirt. He draped himself over Otacon’s desk to force the other man to pay attention to him.
“Hhrrrnngh. Hey Otacon I just got done working out.” Snake smirked.
“Not right now Snake I’m too busy being heterosexual.” Otacon said, shooing the other man off his desk.
Snake was devastated that his not-lover (because he was also heterosexual) wasn’t paying attention to him. He needed a better game plan to get what he wanted, so he came up with a brilliant idea. If one dummy thicc soldier man wasn’t enough for Otacon, he’d just have to bring in backup.
//
Meanwhile, Otacon was starting to feel a little bad that he was acting so cold towards Snake. He’d have to find a way to apologize and make it up to him later. He was thinking all of these things while getting a snack from a vending machine, and he almost didn’t notice the Mii that was standing next to him.
“Hi there! Which mii are you?” Otacon greeted.
The mii looked really confused, and it took a second for him to respond. “I forgot. I think… streetfighter? Does that sound right?”
“I think so.” Hell if Otacon knew what all the mii names were. More importantly, the mii was actually kind of cute. He wondered if the mii would be interested in his and Snake’s Heterosexual Escapades™.
//
“Hey Snake I got us a present!” Otacon walked into Snake’s room carrying the Mii streetfighter under his arm.
“Hrrmm. What a coincidence. I got you a present too.” Snake said. He walked over to his bed and ripping off the sheets, revealing the fact that Leon Kennedy was hiding underneath. The dummy thicc cop was also not wearing a shirt.
“What’s up.” Leon said.
(… Ok. I’m drawing the line here. Say hi to my sister @your-bodyisbeautiful who sent these lovely and totally-not-trolling asks. Happy late april fool’s…?)

Can I get some headcanons for Alucard dating a female Mii Swordfighter? Thanks!
Here you go!
Mii Swordfighter originally met Alucard because she wanted to challenge herself by fighting with everyone who also wields a sword (even if they don’t use it in Smash).
While sparring, they found out that they actually got along really well. Mii Swordfighter tends to get antsy and distracted easily, but her high energy personality is a great contrast to Alucard’s calm and collected nature.
Mii Swordfighter gets self-conscious about the height difference between them, though Alucard will re-assure her as often as he can. He thinks her small stature is adorable.
Neither of them really had any prior dating experience and it took them a while to finally figure out their relationship. Mii Swordfighter kept thinking their dates were just “friendly outings” between the two of them. She kissed Alucard on the cheek once and he spent the rest of the night going back and forth with Richter because “what if she was just being nice” and “yes but does she REALLY like me?”
Their favorite thing to do together is watch movies. Mii Swordfighter likes to talk during movies, joking during bad ones and theorizing about the plot and characters during good ones. Alucard likes having an excuse to cuddle with her and listen to her rambling.

Friendship headcanons for the two Roys?
👍
FE!Roy originally didn’t like Koopa!Roy very much because he would always refer to himself as “the cooler Roy” whenever the two were near each other, and FE!Roy found it insulting.
FE!Roy tried to get back at him by calling himself “the coolest Roy”, but he couldn’t pull it off in the same way Koopa!Roy did, and the attempt just ended up as kind of sad.
The two considered themselves rivals before the relationship changed to a friendship. Koopa!Roy would directly antagonize FE!Roy with pranks, while FE!Roy would act more passive-aggressive. The fighting was pointless and as a result turned playful and harmless, which sparked their friendship.
They share a similar taste in comic books and will read/geek out over their favorite series together.
They find it entertaining to annoy their other friend groups by acting like the Roy Squad™ is the coolest thing ever (even though it’s only the two of them).
They’ll wear each other’s headband/sunglasses on occasion, either for fun or to impersonate each other.

Samus and Lucina form a strong friendship after finding out about each others dark past. (even if Lucina still gets to spend time with her father now.)
(Thank you for the submission!)
Lucina sighed deeply, sinking into the waters ofthe pool room’s hot tub. She found herself coming here more and more frequentlyas of late, the warm water doing much to ease the tension she built up in herbody during the day. Not only that, but coming here at night meant the placewasn’t as heavily occupied, and the pool room’s glass ceiling gave a beautifulview of the stars. It was a wonderful place to relax.
The princess leaned back against the edge of thetub and closed her eyes. She wasn’t sure how long she spent in such a position, and she hardly cared. But the sound of footsteps coming towards her eventuallycaught her attention, and instinctively she tensed and opened her eyes toobserve her surroundings.
It was only Samus. The bounty hunter seemed tohave had the same idea as Lucina, as she was dressed in a simple swimsuit, andwithout a word spoken she took a seat in the hot tub a few feet away from theprincess.
The silence had Lucina feeling a bituncomfortable, though as she looked over Samus appeared totally unfazed by it.She wasn’t bothered by the proximity; there was plenty of space for the two ofthem. But Lucina had no idea if she should start a conversation, or leave theother woman alone. After all, the two of them weren’t exactly close friends.
“Hello.” Lucina said; she figured she should atleast offer a greeting.
“Hey.”
Samus’ reply wasn’t rude in tone, but it wasn’texactly a great conversation starter. The two of them were plunged into silenceonce more, though Lucina found it more comfortable this time. She at least knewSamus didn’t dislike her; the bounty hunter was just fine with silence, andLucina could respect that.
Though as she spent more time in the hot tub,Lucina couldn’t help but occasionally steal glances at the other woman. Shefelt guilty every time she did so, but it was almost habitual for her to keepher eyes on people and their movements at all times. It was what helped Lucinakeep her friends and her alive for so long in the future, and while she highlydoubted Samus was going to get up and attack her, she just couldn’t bringherself to stop.
“I got into a fight with Ridley.” Samus suddenlysaid.
The abruptness immediately shook Lucina out ofher thoughts, and she looked at the other quizzically. “H-huh?”
“You were staring.” Samus looked indifferent asshe pointed to a scar running across her bicep.
Lucina’s mouth felt dry, her tongue floppinguselessly in her mouth as she tried to find the right words. She was incrediblyembarrassed that the other had caught her staring; more than that, she hadn’teven realized that her gaze had been drifting towards the scars on her body. Was it a misunderstanding by Samus, or was she in fact far more observant thanLucina thought?
“I- I, uh… I’m sorry.” Lucina stammered. Thebounty hunter simply shrugged, unfazed, but Lucina wasn’t satisfied. She wantedto explain herself, hoping it would make her feel like less of an idiot. “Ijust have a habit of watching people.” The princess blurted, though it feltlike her words backfired as she failed to express herself properly. How doesone even go about admitting their problems to someone they barely knew? Lucinadidn’t know what to do, and it made her feel even worse.
Samus nodded sagely. The bounty hunter waslooking right at her now, traces of a smile on her lips. “I understand. It’s agood habit to have when surviving in hostile environments.”
Lucina was utterly taken aback; she just didn’tknow how to process such a comment. Was Samus trying to indirectly threatenher? She mentally chided herself; that couldn’t be it. Lucina had always seenSamus as a straightforward person. Perhaps she was genuinely being empathetic, and the realization that the two had such a thing in common had Lucina reeling.
“Do you have a lot of experience with suchthings?” She asked, but quickly realized what she’d said and tried tobacktrack. “Sorry, I guess that’s kind of personal. You don’t have to answer ifyou don’t want to.”
Shaking her head, Samus didn’t seem offended atall, and Lucina breathed a sigh of relief. The bounty hunter actually seemedperfectly fine with detailing some of her more dangerous expeditions. Lucinawas fascinated, listening intently to each story.
She was soon asking Samus all sorts of questions, and the bounty hunter was surprisingly open in the way she detailed both herstruggles and her victories. It felt like the other woman’s confidence wasrubbing off, as Lucina was starting to find herself able to open up about herown troubles.
The two of them lost track of time as theytalked, though neither of them seemed to care. Before long, they’d spent hoursconversing with each other before they had to finally call it a night and bidfarewell. Still, as Lucina retired for the night, she smiled to herself. Itwasn’t like she hadn’t opened up to anyone else before, but talking to Samushad felt especially refreshing, in its own way, and she hoped the two of them could spend some more time together in the future.

Here’s a fun idea. I’d imagine sonic being kind, humble, genuine, and laidback. He laid ha along Arthur’s horse from sonic and the black knight. Except the armor is blue. The horses name is Alloy, btw. So, wanna build up any headcannons from those prolly weird ideas?
I’ll give it a try!
Sonic originally tried to keep Alloy in his room, which worked about as well as what’d you expect when you try to shove an Entire Horse into a bedroom.
He didn’t realize the fighter house had horse stables/animal pens outside because so few people actually use them. Alloy now has his own spot there for whenever Sonic wants to bring him over for a visit.
Sonic rides Alloy surfboard-style and refuses to change his method.
He’s tried to teach Alloy a few “tricks” because he thinks it’d be cool, though he’s had varying degrees of success due to the fact that what he thinks would be a cool idea and what’s physically possible for a horse aren’t always the same thing…
He goes horseback riding with Link pretty frequently.

Simon Belmont forgets that he has to share the chicken with everyone, and doesn’t realize it until it’s too late
(Thank you for the submission!)
At first, Simon wasn’t sure if he should’veaccepted his invitation to this “Super Smash Bros.” or not. The idea was soridiculous and outlandish, he was almost certain that it couldn’t be anythingother than a trap, and Simon refused to be gullible enough to fall for it. Butnot long after his encounter with a strangely shaped man and another who claimedto be his descendant, Simon had little other choice than to accept that theinvitation was real.
Now that he was here, the vampire hunter had toadmit he’d gotten very attached to the place. Most of his fellow fighters weregenuine and good-natured people, and quickly made friends with Simon. And nowthat all of his fights were non-lethal, he found that he liked the chaotic andunpredictability of free-for-all, items-on matches as well as the one-on-onetests of skill against his comrades.
What was most surprising, though, was just howluxurious it felt to live in the fighter house. Having traversed Dracula’scastle, Simon was no stranger to foreign and advanced technology, but he’dhardly gotten the chance to take advantage of these things until now.Electricity that could keep rooms warm and well-lit far better than any fire, infinite hot water whenever he bathed, machines that cleaned and dried clothesfaster than any human; it was incredible.
Though perhaps the most amazing thing out of allthese wonders was the abundance of free food. Aside from knowing that thehouse’s technology allowed the food to last longer, Simon had no idea how anyof it worked. Obviously, there had to be a lot of the stuff in order to feedthe absurd number of people living in the fighter house. But it was like magic, the way Simon could watch someone inhale half the kitchen’s supply of fruit andthen come back the next day to find all of it had been replenished.
And if that was the case, why not help himself?Simon never considered himself much of a glutton, but a scenario like this washard to come by anywhere in his home, so he thought to take advantage of it thesame as he took advantage of electricity and clean plumbing.
At least, that’s what he told himself as he servedhimself the remaining of the kitchen’s roast chicken for the third night in arow. It couldn’t have been healthy for him to eat so much meat and little of anythingelse, but it was free, abundant, and most importantly delicious, and thevampire hunter found it hard to resist the temptation. Still, as he ate thatnight, it felt like something was nagging at the edge of his subconscious, making him feel guilty for enjoying his meal.
He didn’t truly understand what it was until hereturned to the kitchen to clean his dishes and found Ike at a table, themercenary’s face buried in his hands as Marth stood beside him and offered hisfriend a comforting pat on the shoulder.
“… Am I interrupting something?” Simon said, awkwardly looking between the two of them.
“No, no, it’s fine.” Marth shook his head. “Ikejust… needs a moment to pull himself to together.”
The young prince was trying to be diplomatic, butSimon felt just as uncomfortable as ever. He made his way over to the sink, debating if he should stay and clean up or worry about the mess later and getaway from the awkward tension as fast as possible.
Before he could make a decision, Ike spoke up. “Someonekeeps eating all the chicken.” He admitted. “I know it’s a dumb thing to getupset about, but…” The mercenary sighed, looking utterly downtrodden.
Simon could feel the guilt twisting his insides,as if all the food he just ate turned to sawdust. “Isn’t everything in herereplaced when something’s taken?”
“Well, technically yes. But it doesn’t happeninstantly, and some things take longer to replace; meat takes longer thanfruits and vegetables, for instance. And if someone cooks something, theingredients get restocked and not the actual dish. To be honest, I’m not entirelysure why it works that way.” Marth mused.
It was all Simon could do to keep himself fromphysically cringing and giving himself away as the culprit. “Oh. Interesting.”He choked out the words, finished cleaning the dishes, and vacated the room asfast as he could before the two swordsmen could catch on.
