hey sure yknow what? i’ll throw my hat into the lesbian mike ring. when mike starts transitioning she doesn’t really know where to start w clothes bc there are so many more CHOICES for girls and it’s So Much. she doesn’t really want to dress like nancy dresses, and she got overwhelmed last time el and max tried to take her shopping with them. so she eventually goes to robin because robin has the kind of style that mike most thinks she’d be comfortable in, like its kinda loose and queer and androgynous, and also robin wouldn’t judge her for asking for that kind of help. but she’s not out to robin yet and so she’s stammering and tripping over her words trying to explain what she’s asking for. and once robin understands, she gets this huge excited grin on her face, because like. robin doesn’t really have any of the younger kids to mentor like steve does, but now mike is here, asking her for lesbian advice, which is something steve can’t provide. so of course robin accepts the mentorship role immediately and wholeheartedly and they spend the whole day in robin’s room trying out different outfits and talking about girls and stuff like that. basically i need gnc lesbians mike and robin having that incredibly important solidarity of “we are outside the norm in the same beautiful messy way and we have to stick together or we will fall apart at the seams” if that makes any sense.

this makes me so unbelievably happy. also that last sentence is everything to me, solidarity is so important. robin giving mike her old hand me downs. oh and then nancy teaches her how to sew so she can tailor them to fit her better. but yeah no robin sees a baby lesbian and is like “yes. that one is mine to mentor.”

also you know how robin drew all over her shoes and a lot of the shit she drew/wrote is really gay? well mike copies this because she wants to be more like robin and she also draws boobs on her shoes because,,,, lesbians gonna lesbian, and when most people see this, they’re like “that’s just a teenage boy being a teenage boy” but her friends are like “god you’re such a gay loser” (affectionate)

also robin will recommend movies she finds at the video store that have a lot of queer subtext (or occasionally just really pretty girls) to mike and a lot of time mike will watch them on date nights with el.

i am feeling absolutely crazy out of my mind!!! i might not be able to watch till SUNDAY... WHICH IS INSANE AND ALSO WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE BEGINNING OF SEASON FOUR... it feels really weird for the show to be releasing things again so soon after how much time we all got to ruminate on season 3 and really dig our nails into it and understand it. i am praying hoping and dreaming that max will make it through for for you. also for me obviously bc i love her but i fear for the max stans :(

i as much as i would love for him to be a bit of an incel, I think steve harrington Fucks! i think he loves taking ppl on dates and having sex with them and making them happy and complimenting them like crazy!! i think he likes to hold and be held for a while afterwards!! i think that he believes that he's more of stepping stone on the way to true love than being someone's forever person himself, and i think he hopes that if he's good enough in bed his date wont notice that he's not as smart as someone like robin or dustin. or that no matter how much he wanted to protect his friends, ultimately it was 10 year old erica sinclair that saved him from the gloved fist and the bonesaw. or that he was a coward and couldn't even talk about that one november with nancy when she needed it most- hell, he couldn't even look barbara's parents in the eyes and admit what he'd done, tell them how he killed their daughter and nancy's best friend. and that he still can't even think about it to hard. he thinks that maybe, if he's just a good enough fuck, his date won't remember how he nearly jumped out of his chair when they tapped him on the shoulder from behind, or how when they kept trying grab his wrists when they were kissing he pretended he didn't notice- then shifted and squeezed his eyes together to try to get starcourt out of his head. maybe they wouldn't notice that he was missing something. broken. maybe he could trick them into thinking he was worthy of loving.
