Today is June 10th and thus it is officially one year since the start of the Surgeon of Death Collab, also called the Law Collab. When I started this, I did not think it would become what it did. I only thought there would be a handful of submissions and it would remain something small and quaint. How wrong I was. All outfits were finished and submitted, a whole community was formed, and I got so many new friends.

I can't express properly how much this means to me. I had never properly participated in fandom before, finding it too scary. Luckily, One Piece gave me the push I needed. As I stated, I've found so many new friends through these character collabs, and I treasure those friendships so greatly. I've joined so many of these collabs and also zines, wanting to show what I can do and further improving my skills. I've gained a whole new reserve of patience, as well as leadership abilities that you don't get without actually being involved. There were ups and downs, of course we're only human and hindsight is 20/20, but I still wouldn't give those up because they've helped me grow.

If I had gone back in time to 2015 to meet myself in high school, a particularly lonely time, and told her about this incredible community that I get to be a part of, she probably would've thought I had lost it. I never had the skills to make many friends because my interests were seen as weird, so to have a place where I can be around people who have similar interests to me, where we can just have fun and be ourselves is so damn precious to me. I wouldn't give this up for the world.

I truly mean it, from the bottom of my heart, when I thank each and every one of you for participating, supporting, or both. This day marks the beginning of something special, something that I'm gonna hold near and dear to my heart for as long as I live
