Other Andor things I don't understand people saying
"Cassian only joined the rebellion because of Maarva's speech" Cassian doesn't even hear the speech.
"Vel told Bix to get out of Cassian's way" No? She doesn't? How do you interpret this conversation this way?

Oh, also a development in the last few days is that I've finally made peace with the stupid fucking baby. And by doing that I came all the way around to appreciating the arc 3 choices more.

Thinking about an awkward kleya not realizing the tightness in her chest she's feeling anytime she's by herself is loneliness + Vel accidentally becoming her emotional support bed-mate 🫠

It's interesting when people are like "Saw is the only real rebel because the rest just want to restore the republic". Like um, so does he! Saw Gerrera in R1 and later Andor basically re-asserts his commitment to reforming the Republic. He says it before he dies. Which isn't too strange when you remember that he originated as a guy fighting to re-instate a KING

In the past month I have watched an unreal amount of Andor cast and crew interviews and I have to say it does make the Tony Gilroy haterism on here look weirder. Not necessarily the haterism itself (go with god) but the persona they've constructed in their head about this man.

I gotta say of all the Andor/R1 "inconsistencies" that people point out the one that really grinds my gears is the "well he says he's never been imprisoned!" one.
Some inconsistencies or retcons I don't give a shit about or I think is fine because it serves a better story. This one though? Why is this your nitpick? In addition to the "he's a spy and doesn't know these people" angle the man carries lock picking tools in his boot. Please.

Anyway, thinking about Bix again.
Also spent too much time reading a reddit thread of unpopular show opinions and uh some were really unhinged both in the typical ways (as seen On Here) and new and unexpected ways. Lots were boring tho ("I didn't like the time skips!")

I was really here like "well I mean the star wars movies are also very human-centric. Apart from Chewie what alien do we get that's that relevant to the story"
Reader, I forgot about Yoda.

Like idk if Blevin transferred months prior to the start of season 2 it's not so weird that there isn't a line about it. That said, it is an empty space that is felt since he's Dedra's rival in season 1.
I think also they found it interesting to have a Dedra 2.0 (Heert) play her like she does Blevin. We already saw a hint of that in season 1 so the scramble to fill the space and get promoted made sense.
:(
:( :(
I wish we had at least one more season man. Actually what I really wish for is a magical time chamber and infinite money+resources where you put the cast and crew in for awhile as they make 5 glorious seasons of television and then pop out as if no time passed in the real world. Sure it's a prison to them maybe. Yeah it would be kinda fucked to be sequestered away in a world where they can't age but they spend years of their life simply working with no escape. But. I'd be happy and have my TV show so idk

Actually, I don’t think I’m ever going to stop being pissy about the fact that we never learned what happened to Blevin. He’s built up in Season 1 as Dedra’s main foil within the ISB; a guy whose competent complacency has been rewarded with six sectors; a guy who follows the rules not because it’s the right thing to do, but because 1. It’s easier than breaking them to solve problems that could otherwise be ignored or passed down to someone of lesser rank, and 2. It’ll get him promoted. He’s close to Dedra’s age, but a big deal is made about her youth while Blevin’s “climbed higher” in comparison and he’s not much older. He’s irritating, and he’s arrogant, and most if not all of his attendants seem to be women which does make me raise my eyebrows, but. He was a central component of the Imperial plot in Season 1, and he’s a massive, unresolved question mark in Season 2.
We don’t see him have a Ferrix-scale failure at the end of the first season, so it’s not likely he was demoted. Yet, he’s not there a year later. Was he promoted out of Partagaz’ office? How would that work, considering Lagret seems of high rank and still reports to Partagaz? Did Blevin transfer to a different sector? Did he quit? Did he die? We don’t know. All we know is that Heert’s sitting in his chair, and while I understand the narrative juiciness of pitting Dedra against her former assistant, it’s sad, to me, that Blevin doesn’t even get a line of dialogue to explain where he went. He has some of the best lines in the show, but he vanishes without a word.
Might be a weird thing to say, but Blevin deserved better. Or… maybe not better, but he deserved something, at least.
