Kastro Daskalió

A visit to Kastro Daskalió will be a visit to remember! This is a build made for my Early Civilization save, but can easily be adapted to more modern times if you are not stuck in the past like me 😁.

The shape was inspired by the pyramid shaped ancient Daskalió, a small islet west of Keros in Greece. It's has really fascinating history, going back almost 5000 years, and the archaeologists are still excavating. Read more here.

I built this on the Chieftain's Villa lot in Sulani, but you can place it wherever you want. It's CC heavy, and will not look good without it. As always I've included a list with links for all items used.

Aegean Set

This mini set is inspired by the story of Ariadne, the Cretan princess who helps Theseus to slay her half-brother, the minotaur Asterion. Which the hero repays her, of course, by abandoning her on an island somewhere in the Aegean… but, according to some versions of the story, all ends well for her. She is found soon after by the young god Dionysus, who falls deeply in love with her. The two marry, and he places her crown, which he had gifted to her at their wedding, among the stars, ascending her to godhood. Her sister Phaedra, however, marries Theseus. Poor Phaedra. Let’s just say things do not end as well for her.

Anyways, this set contains two hairs, both Minoan inspired, for females, with an additional package containing recolors for the headbands. The hairs are a mashup of a few of my favorite @tekri hairs and EA meshes. There also is a grape crown, fashioned for Dionysus, with Spring and Autumn variations.

Pasiphae’s Dress

Named after the mythical queen of Minoan Crete. Pasiphae was the wife of King Minos and the mother of the minotaur, Asterion. According to some traditions, she was a goddess of the moon and sorcery.

The dress is based off a ceramic vessel in the shape of a woman’s dress found at the site of Knossos. The skirt depicts crocus flowers near its base.

Prayers for Anna Apostolaki (Άννα Αποστολάκη), who was the first Greek woman to pursue a professional career in archeology. In 1926, she oversaw the reconstruction of ancient Minoan costumes as part of a three day festival held at the Panathenaic Stadium, among which included this beautiful dress.
