Do you ever think about how Tarn/Damus died thinking nobody would mourn him and that he had no one alive who would care that he died. Meanwhile even in the timeline where Megatron does get executed, depite many people hating him Megatron gets to die knowing there were still people who would mourn him/miss him and cared about him and didn’t want him to die even after he is gone.

And how the reason why no one would care about Tarn/Damus was directly caused by Megatron’s corruption of his life. Like being assigned leader of the DJD probably meant you were hated by both Autobots and Decepticons because you're literally the boogeyman who hunts down members of your own side making any possibility of connections with members of your faction already difficult. Like Tarn is the last to die among the DJD members so even if his team cared for him they are already gone. And by the time Megatron kills Tarn he is alone from his pov. And I’m pretty sure Megatron killed him last among the DJD on purpose cause he is the kind of person who is that cruelly calculated. And how to add insult to injury the last words Megatron tells Tarn is that everything he did was for nothing even though it was Megatron who manipulated him on that path just to get back at Optimus. I know Nickel did miss him and the DJD afterwards, but from Tarn's pov her and Deathsaurus retreated (understandably) and he died thinking he is alone with no one left by his side.

Something about the person who made sure no one would mourn/love you gets to die knowing he was cared about/loved by others when the main reason you probably followed him was because the one thing you wanted most in the world was to belong and be loved. On top of that you find out any affection and care he might have given you beforehand was just a lie to get back at someone else and you as a person were barely an afterthought in all of it. You ever think about how it probably confirmed a deep insecurity since his time as a social pariah as an empurata victim, that the fear that he was unlovable was true. But the truth was that no one is unlovable, but he dies thinking he is. It just saddens me and is so tragic. Like if I think about Tarn/Damus’ life for more than five minutes I just get really sad cause it’s just one tragedy after another.
