Hello, friendly geologist here to report on some obsidian samples!

Here we have snowflake and mahogany obsidian. Obsidian is an igneous mineral which is basically nature’s violent glass. The color infused with the obsidian here is a product of other minerals cooling with the obsidian. The red you see can either be Haematite or Magnetite, and the white snowflake patterns here are Cristobalite.

It’s been a busy year. I’m currently at University studying a plethora of rocks and minerals. I’ll have to show you the campus’s collection sometime. :)
