Year 1679 - Part 3

TW/CW: Death, Death Mention, Teen Pregnancy

After being Vivienne was given her options by her mother, Giovanni Cesare returned upstairs briefly to speak with her and was informed of the pregnancy. They had no plans and very little money. This was not the life Giovanni Cesare had dreamed of when he first set sail a year ago.

The pair spoke to each other very little for the next few days leading up to when a decision had to be made. Despite it being something neither of them wanted, Giovanni Cesare decided that it was for the best of his child to marry Vivienne so he convinced her that they would make it work and with permission to marry from her mother, arrangements were made. On December 13th the pair were wed.

Back in Tartosa, three days after Giovanni Cesare and Vivienne married, Antea delivered her and Cristofolo's child, a daughter they named Camilla.

Ashley had been feeling off for a while leading up to the holidays but had been keeping it to herself to not worry her family. But on December 23, she collapsed to the ground and by the time the physician was brought from town she had already passed.

The family rushed to have her buried before the holiday and she was buried by her eldest son's side the very next day.

Back at the Bailey household, Giovanni Cesare celebrated his eighteenth birthday in muted silence amidst the news of his dear sister-in-law's passing and his much unwanted marriage.

Giulia worried for the future of her family in the coming year as on December 30th, Cristofolo died from sudden illness from the water and the famine showed no signs of stopping anytime soon.

Given the tragedies throughout the year, Marcello and his betrothed decided that once the mourning period was over they would marry at least to bring some more joy back to the family even though both of them had lost through out the year.

Vivienne had been restricted in the home so as to not shame her mother's family but aside from that her disownment hadn't shown much difference in her life other than the sudden loss of her social life as she still lived in the home just the other members would scorn her except for her brother when they were in private. Giovanni Cesare didn't seem to care for her as he did before and ultimately regret she felt made her heart feel heavy. She wondered if there was anyway to fix the mess she had made.

Year 1679 - Part 2

TW/CW: Teen Pregnancy

Literally the next day after getting caught by Vivienne, the young lady and her mother fought and Giovanni Cesare decided to try to cheer her up though at first she wasn't too interested she couldn't help but laugh at his attempts to dance which ended up being over dramatic leaps and as she vented about her mother wanting to marry her off to some stuffy gentleman he joked about how courting seemed all big and dramatic as well as ridiculous.

Taking advantage of how ridiculous the courting expectations were and the blossoming feelings in her heart, Vivienne decided to just go for it and kissed the young man. Giovanni Cesare could hardly process what had just happened as her lips met his.

But when the shock wore off much to Vivienne's dismay the young man was mad. Giovanni Cesare felt flutters at being the object of affection of a lovely young lady as a young person tends to with their first experience being seen romantically but logic won over in his head as she pulled away from the kiss, she was the daughter of his employer. Their chatting was already toeing the line and now a kiss, he could be whipped for the mere thought of that happening between them crossing her parents minds and now that she had done it... it was stupid and it scared him since he had finally gotten to the land he wanted he didn't want to make a poor name for himself right away and said as much to her as he yelled.

Of course, Vivienne wasn't one to simply leave it at that and was quick to remind him that he had been following her for months now and hadn't gotten caught until he went with her brother and he wasn't the only one risking their future. Which made him say that made even less sense to do anything further and the pair should just ignore the events of the night but Vivienne just shouted in exasperation saying that if he cared so much about his employers it was her family and left for her room leaving him to wonder what had happened and what to do.

And yet the very next night or rather the morning of the next night, Giovanni Cesare apologized to Vivienne in hopes of making her happy and she said she'd forgive him if he'd be hers. As much as he felt it was a horrid idea, the gravity of the retribution of his employers and the fact that despite being a child of the family she was still one of them, meant that he didn't see how he could say no to her advances without putting himself into jeopardy. The whipping could be dealt with but the social backlash would be crippling on such a close knit island.

But while Giovanni Cesare was facing issues inside the home, walking back one day he noticed a familiar face near the Bailey home and as he came closer it was Orelia! Apparently following Francois' death, she took that as a sign to leave and do what she wanted since her daughter was older and her niece was handed off to her and so she had joined up with a crew and recently landed on the island shores since her captain and crew mates had family be it lovers or wives and children on the islands. The pair caught up and since his sister would be around regularly though perhaps not frequently, they promised to see more of each other while she was nearby.

In Tartosa, Iseppo grew into a sweet boy taking quite a bit after his mother. Alessandro wondered if Marina was going to be the only one of his children to take anything after him.

As the months went by, more of each night was spent with Vivienne sneaking into the servants quarters to spend quality time with her love.

Early October at the Collari household brought with it the birth of twins and on the 9th of the month, Sabina and Salvator Collari were born healthy.

But eventually, as Autumn turned to Winter and the year drew closer to an end, sneaking around led to the young couple in Sulani getting caught as they slipped up.

While Giovanni Cesare was sent immediately downstairs to the servant's quarters, Vivienne's mother laid into her about her inappropriate behavior with him especially as she noticed what her young daughter did not about her tightening dress. She told her that since she was with child she had two options, either by week's end she would be sent to the convent or she would marry the servant boy but either way she would be disowned either by the time she arrived at the convent or when she married. Vivienne was sickened as her intentions for a brief romance before being married to someone of her station had led to her predicament.

Year 1679 - Part 1

The year began with the Collari family officially confirming a new future addition to the family. While at the Ludovici home, Katharine was starting to worry about not having conceived since the birth of her son, when he was younger it was a relief to only have one young child to care for but as she and Leonardo tried, no luck was had. Though as days turned to weeks of little rain, maybe it was for the best...

In a way of distracting herself, Katharine was happy to treat her cousin and cousin's mother-in-law to new outfits though nothing too fancy since they didn't wish to impose too much.

February brought with it news that the young Collari boy had passed from unclean water. Ashley felt for the loss the family was feeling having lost her eldest but it just made her more grateful for her healthy children.

After weeks drawn into months by storms and poor weather, Giovanni Cesare finally reached the shores of the islands he had been dreaming of. It was a new start for him enough so that the moment he arrived he decided to simply go by Giovanni. He never vocalized the feelings but he always knew that his name was only his because his late older brother died before he grew up and on the islands at least, Giovanni Cesare had no legacy to continue or live up to. It was just him in a new part of the world his family could hardly dream of. He was quickly sent off to work for a wealthy family, the Bailey's to serve them which was a surprise to Giovanni Cesare as he had expected more physically demanding work but he was not going to complain about having easy work.

It was April when Cristofolo went to visit his love and when he saw her she was deep in thought looking troubled. He worried for her and questioned her only to find that their youthful passions had let to Antea being with child. With the words spoken aloud neither really knew what to do as neither had expected a child.

For Antea, telling her aunt about her child with Cristofolo was difficult as she knew her reaction would be poor but after the initial anger and shock, Gabriella told her that the young couple should at the very least wed before the birth of child to preserve what little was left of her niece's reputation for both her and her unborn child's sake.

Given the illegitimate status of Cristofolo regardless of his adoption and the fact that he had an older brother and Jolene's pregnancy, Bianca had little argument over the young couple marrying and like Gabriella, pushed for it to happen sooner than later so as to not have a bastard for a great-grandchild. While it wasn't the romantic circumstances the young pair would have liked for the promise of spending their lives together, they were excited to marry and so before April came to an end they were wed.

The good feelings following the wedding of Cristofolo and Antea came to an end in May when Alessandro's father died from the lack of water brought on by the famine and the loss of one of the Laurent boys didn't make Alessandra's fears for her own child ease in the slightest when June came and labor struck her. Despite that on June 18th, the Rossi family welcomed a son they named Iseppo. Though July brought with it news that the late Osana's husband passed in some sort of accident and his widow was more than happy to leave young Juliette in the care of her aunt, Orelia.

The work Giovanni Cesare had wasn't difficult like he had first assumed though his employers were often rude to him and treated him with little respect. Most of his work consisted of fixing things the lady of the house or her eldest broke in one of their constant fights or cooking meals. He tried to keep his head down as best he could but the fights were hard to ignore when they got loud.

He did feel for the younger lady of the house Vivienne as some of what they argued about seemed to be her future since her step-father was eager to have the child of his wife's first marriage out of the home and sadly the girl's mother was also of the same mind. It wasn't his place to interject but he'd watch to make sure that the young lady was safe when she'd walk down to the beach late at night after fighting with her mother.

As the summer progressed, Landon and Jolene repaired their relationship especially in the wake of the loss of their young son and the anticipation of their newborn.

Sadly it wasn't meant to be as August took Landon into the Watcher's embrace following a bout of sudden but severe illness and sadly the famine showed no signs of stopping.

One night after a particularly nasty fight between the lady of the house and her daughter, while Giovanni Cesare was following her down to the water he was joined by her younger brother who also felt the same and the pair were caught by Vivienne. At first Vivienne was shocked to learn that she had been followed by them both yet she was flattered that her young brother was checking in on her and while she didn't say it aloud near her brother, the fact the handsome young servant cared for her safety made her heart flutter.

And so even after the young boy left, having been caught Giovanni Cesare realized that there was no more point hiding that he wanted to make sure she was okay. The pair spent a good portion of the night chatting and making sculptures on the beach to cheer up Vivienne. Giovanni was glad to see the young woman perk up though Vivienne was seeing the young man in a new light not as a mere servant but as a young man who while still beneath her was now worth her attentions.

Carlisle Update

So I made a post a few weeks ago about how I got a new computer and it's nice and runs things better. That is still true except after I transferred my saves and stuff from my old laptop I kinda just left it at that cause it took forever and I wanted to get in game and play but this computer is better and can do more. All this to say I got more period appropriate cc for my Carlisles after I saw some being posted and reblogged. So everyone is gonna be all redressed in the new clothes. I'm doing my best to make sure every sim in the save is dressed up in period appropriate wear now that I have it... I don't think I'll keep it up for the nonhousehold sims all the time so the kids and below will age up into silly randomized outfits I choose to ignore as usual but for a brief time everyone will be dressed appropriately or at least more appropriately.

Year 1678

TW/CW: Death Mention, Miscarriage

The began with the Ludovici family making preparations for Benetta's thirteenth birthday in October but with that also came talks of future matches though through talks with the Collari family between Leonardo and Alessandra it was agreed that Benetta would marry Jolene's son from her first marriage since he had a noble background but no titles for his own. Alessandra was the one who broke the news to Benetta who admitted that the match was a good one for them and the Collari family who wished to strengthen their ties with their family even if the bond would be indirect with the young man marrying into the Ludovici family.

By February the youngest Morosini boys were roaming the home chasing after their older siblings to the family's joy.

April brought with it Jolene's oldest son turning thirteen as he grew into a rather studious young man.

With Tala gone for nearly a year, Alessandro was once again pushed to marry though given his track record with his wives, he worried but he knew his children needed a mother and his own simply couldn't keep up with three children while he hand his father worked. So he discussed his plight with his daughter hoping for her blessing to remarry though he secretly hoped that she would refuse so that he wouldn't risk the loss of a third wife but Marina hoped her father would find a more permanent happiness and gave her approval.

In late July, Alessandro married Alessandra both of which had little illusions of the practicality of their union. For Alessandro, a wife would be good help for his children and the land and her high status background meant that her connections could lead to his children finding better matches in the future. While Alessandra married lower than her status to remove herself from succession since she had a reasonable claim to her household just like her young niece but she wished to leave that to the one who wanted it and not be a threat going forward besides, her actual lover was already married so it made sense that she should marry as well.

Taking heavily after the Carlisle side of the family more each day, Luisa celebrated her thirteenth birthday in Newcrest as her little sister grew into a little girl.

Sadly, Ashley was gripped with pains one day in early August only to find that she had lost a pregnancy before she had even known about it.

But despite the loss, the family was happy to celebrate Bastiano and Borthola turning six. Both children grew into traits that didn't necessarily suit their farm life as Bastiano had a love for the arts and Borthola was enamored with books and now that she was old enough to do things on her own she spent most of her time reading when she could.

While the older children could not get along when they were younger, the twins were practically attached at the hip all the time.

Back at the Rossi home, Alessandra learned that she was with child as September came though she was confident that the child was Alessandro's given the fact her love was elsewhere for the past weeks, she was disappointed that her child was not her lover's despite the fact that problems would arise for both of them since they were both married to other people. Still, it was more practical that her child was Alessandro's since she had nothing against the man.

At the Collari home, Cristofolo celebrated his thirteenth birthday as well. Though the puppy love he shared with a village girl had secretly bloomed into a silent romance as after the celebrations with his family he snuck out to see her. His love, Antea.

Still, in a way Cristofolo was also grateful to his little cousin since while he was more ambitious than his brother, Cristofolo being third-in-line to the head of house position was more than happy to hand it off if it meant that he could marry for himself.

Giulia was saddened by the news of Orion's passing in Newcrest shortly before Cristofolo's birthday though news didn't reach Tartosa until October.

At the Ludovici household, Benetta celebrated her thirteenth birthday with her brother, his wife and their son.

Borthola lamented that there was no way she'd be able to do much studying in the future when she grew up when Giovanni Cesare made an offhand comment specifying unless with the church. But the comment when he spoke it felt like a light had been raised in Borthola's mind towards the future. Giovanni Cesare could see the visible shift in his niece at his words when her mind registered his statement and went to his brother to tell him his thoughts. It seemed that Giovanni Cesare's slip of the tongue wasn't a foreign thought when Giuliano mentioned it to his wife and after a brief discussion that Ashley relayed to Borthola they decided that if this love for study persisted then perhaps in a few years down the line she would join the church and live in the nearby convent.

Late October, Giovanni Cesare ran home from his work in a hurry a foreign ship was taking servants to the colonies and had room for a few willing participants. With Marcello having to wait to even get the chance to go and even then might take years, Giovanni Cesare knew that this opportunity might not come again and so he spoke to the man in charge and signed up for a few years of labor once he got there but in a week's time he'd be headed to a new land with new people. Giulia was not pleased with her son's course of action, ships wrecked often and the labor he had signed himself into was long and had little reward but the deed was already done. As much as she wished to fight, she chose instead to spend her last moments with her son cherishing him and using what money she had set aside on new clothes and as a gift for his journey so he could start a life when his service was done with.

After his family went to sleep Giovanni Cesare spent his nights just walking through Tartosa, he'd miss it but he couldn't help but feel excited for his new life. November came with Giovanni Cesare's departure on the boat and for the next several weeks through the end of the year, the boat was his home.

Year 1677

TW/CW: Death

Giuliano adored his young children but being as Bastiano would likely inherit their family home and farm he made certain to teach him in the garden just like his father did though they did frequently get distracted.

In February, there was thankfully little bad news to share in fact Giulia was delighted to receive a letter from Orelia saying that Antonio's wife had delivered a little girl though at the time of the letter Sarah and Orion were still bickering over what to name her. Still the news was welcome.

Marcello made more frequent visits to the Morosini home especially as his young cousin was growing up well since it made him all the more certain that there would be no issue with him leaving once he was an adult and married.

Antonio's youngest grew into an admittedly intense little one as the seasons prepared to change from Spring to Summer.

Tala enjoyed the house being so full of children after so long alone. She only hoped that in the future it would always remain like that.

Whenever Ashley needed a break from her family she'd come to the Rossi Carlisle home to spend time with her little cousin. She loved the excitement the Morosini always bustled with but after growing up in a relatively small household, it was frequently too much now that there were four small children. Thankfully the older two wouldn't be that little for much longer.

Sadly it was getting late into the night during one of Ashley's visits that on her way back home she noticed Tala collapsed in the garden and her shocked yell alerted Marina. Age had finally come for Tala as on July 1st she was confirmed to have passed away.

The burial and subsequent mourning put a damper on the fact that young Nicola had grown out of his infancy and into a little boy. The changes in the household didn't end there as now that there was no woman in the household, Gabriella insisted that it was improper to have her niece be in the home when she was getting close to marrying age so Alessandro made arrangements that she would move out by the end of the year and into her aunt's home.

The year progressed as the family grieved the loss of the matriarch that had supported them through the years but in October, Orelia was happy to share that Antonio's youngest son had grown into a young boy big enough to play with her daughter and his brother.

As the year came to a close though, the newness of Newcrest had officially faded and she thought once more about traveling but she also thought about how close together the losses of the recent years had been and decided not to take action in fear of acting from grief but also because her daughter was so young and her niece had little support without her.

Year 1676

TW/CW: Death

The year began with Shayna going into labor in the quiet hours of the night in early January. While Shayna labored with the help of Tala and Gianna, Alessandro waited outside with the children as the two of them took the opportunity of a new family member to avoid sleep. But sleep came to them anyways and by the time Shayna had delivered the baby midday on January 11th, Alessandro was the first one to greet his son named Nicola after his wife's late grandfather.

The birth had taken a lot from Shayna but it was mostly manageable as she loved to dote on her little son but as she started to feel more confident that nothing had gone wrong she felt a brief flash of pain while getting some air and when she didn't return her sister, Antea, found her and there was nothing to be done. She died on March 15th and was buried a few days later.

Nicola grew to be a darling baby who much to Alessandro's deep sorrow looked just like his mother. Thankfully, Marina was delighted to be a sister and he was conflicted about what to do with his wife's younger sister. Gabriella was happy to take in her niece following Shayna's death despite having her own young infant to care for but Antea was also the aunt of Alessandro's son so he didn't quite know what to do but since he was grateful for the help the girl gave in the wake of their shared loss, he was happy to have her for the time being anyways.

In Newcrest, things had been faring nicely for the family as April had brought with it the birth of another healthy son for Antonio and Sarah but sadly that's where the joy ended as Antonio was sad to announce that he had been called upon to fight in the war they had been lucky to avoid so far.

But after Antonio died in the war on the sixth of May, Ashley was taking the loss of her cousin even harder especially as she was stressed about her pregnancy that had gone mostly hidden until around the time her cousin passed. Giovanni Cesare was happy to cheer her up though Ashley felt a little odd being cheered up by her husband's kid brother as she felt she shouldn't be such a mess around someone so young.

But time heals and as the days passed into weeks, it became easier to bear.

Marcello celebrated his thirteenth birthday surrounded by his family though his enthusiasm was dampened by overhearing talks of his grandmother and uncle looking for a match for him. Much like his mother he was well aware of what was expected of him in the future and he had no problems with marrying for the sake of his family but he hoped that if he didn't raise a fuss, they wouldn't raise a fuss when he eventually went to leave for the islands in the future.

Marina also had her birthday growing into a lovely young lady who seemed to be a fairly decent blend of her parents to the joy of her father and extended family. While her grandparents and father fussed over her little brother, she and Antea were happy to play until dark.

As Antonio's youngest grew into larger baby, Sarah was concerned to learn that before Antonio had passed they were going to have another child but now it would be her mostly alone with their three young children and Luisa.

Late August came and with it, Gianna arrived at the Morosini home to help Ashley deliver her baby which turned out to be twin boys who were born in the late afternoon of August 27th. The boys were named Rustico and Ricciardi.

While the family in Tartosa fussed over the new babies, Osana's daughter, Juliette, grew into a darling girl though the festivities over her milestone with her paternal family was quickly overshadowed by the betrothal of her sister to a foreign noble who after some piecing together through notes was revealed to be Marcello and her brother's betrothal to a local young lady.

In the Carlisle-Rossi family, the relationship between all the members was only growing stronger though despite his family's insistence Alessandro was hesitant to remarry once more. Tala felt for the young man's plight after losing both of his wives and being left with the children he couldn't care for himself, she was happy to tell him that as long as she lived she would help out with the kids though she also knew that she was getting older, the relief Alessandro felt at the lack of necessity to remarry was visible.

Ashley and Giuliano's twins seemed to grow in a flash into strong young boys which made the whole household breathe a sigh of relief. Though for their parent's sleep was a thing of the past, they were happy that their four young children were all quite well at the year ended.

Year 1675

Thankfully as the year began the youngests of the Morosini home seemed to be getting on better than they had before though that was also partly because the adults were quicker about breaking up whatever conflicts the two were having.

Now that Giovanni Cesare was a bit older and his brother's marriage was more established in the home and the children were getting older, he and Ashley started to really get along more to Giuliano's delight.

At the Carlisle-Rossi home, Shayna was getting used to married life with her new husband and little sister. Alessandro doted on his daughter which warmed Shayna's heart but she couldn't help but feel a little left out from the pair and once she started to suspect she was with child, she could only hope that her child would be as loved as Marina but at least her sister was around to keep her company.

Clement grew into a sweet young boy who took quite a bit after his father as he grew up to Antonio's delight.

And right behind him, little Orsetta also became a little girl who took heavily after her mother though Orelia was concerned that her little one was always quite cold to the touch at least compared to Clement.

With age, much like his sister, Giovanni Cesare longed to leave Tartosa and from his nephew Marcello's books and tales about the islands it made the both of them promise to go together when they were older though that bit they kept to themselves. Giovanni was always talking about what he had heard from lingering by the docks and the books to anyone who'd listen. But it was Giuliano that mentioned the obvious that if he liked the sea so much maybe he should look into getting a job at the port since they always needed hands.

When Giovanni Cesare brought up the idea of working at the docks to Giulia she was immediately against it as the sailor types were a dangerous and unpredictable lot, not even mentioning the hazards of the work itself and sailing. Giovanni Cesare tried to set his mother's mind at ease by saying that he wouldn't be leaving with the ships just helping with cargo and the like though that didn't settle her much but she thought of her two daughters who had left and how similar he was to them and figured that if she stopped him he'd just do something more drastic than what he wanted at the moment and so she agreed but even after he left to the ports her words of approval left a bitter taste in her mouth.

But while Giovanni Cesare was coming home each day exhausted from the labor intensive work, news came in from Newcrest that Antonio and his wife were expecting a new child.

As the year progressed further, Ashley was happy that her little ones were truly getting along better to her relief. It gave her more time to enjoy motherhood now that she was better rested and the kids weren't constantly at odds anymore.

While Giuliano loved both of his children, Borthola proved to favor her father though Giovanni Cesare teased that it was more because of the lights he showed her with his magic since she was happy to spend time with the all the older members of the household too though maybe that was because everyone except Ashley could make the lights they liked so much.

Year 1674 - Part 2

TW/CW: Miscarriage

Sometime between the loss of Baldissere and Tess, Ashley began to show with her pregnancy but she didn't care too much as she tried to adjust to her life without her son in it.

Ashley and Giuliano felt bogged down with their grief and yet they did their best to push through it and support their surviving children as they were to young to fully understand what they had all lost though they couldn't help but be slightly jealous at the naivete of youth their children had.

But as the month changed from November to December it was getting easier to deal with their emotions and Ashley made sure to acknowledge the fact that Giulia had had her birthday.

Ashley's mother also shared the news that she was expecting with her new husband though she mostly worried about her age as she wasn't exactly a young mother anymore.

With Gabriella mentioning her own age, Giulia couldn't help but feel a bit despite being only a few years apart in age.

Orelia was glad for the peaceful village of Henford that she could walk around freely with her daughter away from the house that brought her bad memories but the fact was that each day she felt less and less attached to Henford.

Orelia and Orion did discuss their feelings about Henford and perhaps since they both were foreigners who came for family rather than the place, both weren't exactly tied to the land.

As his mother, Orion was the one to bring up the subject of moving to Antonio and after the loss of now three of his children and two of his wives in the town, he was thinking of moving as well though he had little idea of where he wished to go except not there but since Orelia had her lone niece in Newcrest, Orion thought that maybe Newcrest could be good for them and bring the family back close together.

With no real argument against the idea, Antonio broached the subject with his wife who didn't want to move with their baby but she also could read the room in that everyone else in the household already had one foot out the door so she begrudgingly accepted the idea.

Orelia had mixed feelings about leaving Henford now that it was really happening since it was the place where both of her daughters were born and where her eldest died but she was excited to leave and live near the waters of Newcrest. Meeting her niece was also something that excited her. Staying in Henford any longer just felt like it would bring bad news.

As the year came to a close the news that her brother's wife Ashley had lost their pregnancy only proved Orelia's fears right. Ashley was devastated to lose her oldest and her unborn child with the span of a few short months.

The year ended with Giovanni Cesare's thirteenth birthday as the family celebrated his good health and milestone, they all hoped that the year to come would be kinder.

Year 1674 - Part 1

TW/CW: Child Death

The start of the year was largely uneventful until Sarah went into labor and delivered a healthy son on January 22nd who was named Clement, much to his parent's relief.

Just a few days shy of her 26th birthday on February 10th, Orelia delivered her daughter who she named Orsetta after her late twin.

Back in Tartosa things were going well for the Morosini triplets as they outgrew infancy and became delightful little children. Baldissere was a charming child who loved being social when he and his family would stroll through town while Bastiano tried to be independent though there was little he could do much to his displeasure since he was still a small child. Borthola preferred to stay by her parents side as she was a rather shy child now that she her intense moods had softened.

Clement grew fast definitely taking quite a bit after his father though it was still unclear if that was just for his infancy.

Orsetta also grew into a sweet girl and it was such a relief for Orelia that her daughter was growing better than Pasqueta had.

Still, with the little one's health doing well, Orelia was starting to feel stifled in Henford as she contemplated what would come next in her life.

On his parent's recommendation, Alessandro decided to remarry and given the close ties his late wife's family had with the Taroni family he decided that he would marry Gabriella's ward and niece, Shayna. Shayna knew that an offer to marry a wealthy merchant like Alessandro would not come around for her often being that she was an illegitimate child which was reason enough to take up the marriage offer but also, raising her status from illegitimate to a merchant's wife would also be beneficial for her younger sister so by early June the two were wed. That said Alba and Marina weren't too interested in what the adults were doing and spent most of their time together chatting about far more important things like toys and games.

Later that June on the 17th, Salvador Ludovici was born a healthy child.

The Morosini children started to drift apart as they grew older, for whatever reason toddlerhood made it so that Bastiano and Borthola could hardly get along with each other becoming more difficult to manage by the day but at least both of them were on wonderful terms with their older triplet brother.

With the little ones old enough to cause mischief, it was hard for Giovanni Cesare to get much attention but Giulia did her best to make time for her young son especially as his thirteenth birthday approached. She couldn't believe how fast time was flying by when she was reminded that her brother had turned thirty-five that July.

Of course, while the Morosini couple had hoped to avoid another child so soon, by September Ashley was quite certain that there would be a new addition to the family soon. Ashley did admit that she was nervous about having four young children so close together especially as her younger two currently did not get along but Giulia did her best to comfort her that they would manage it.

Sadly with no warning on October 7th, Baldissere went down for his nap and simply never awakened.

Ashley took the loss hard as she felt that her complaining about having four young children had triggered the Watcher's wrath and took her oldest.

Giovanni Cesare and Giulia decided to focus their grief into Giovanni Cesare's lessons and he was happy to distract his niece and nephew so that his brother and sister-in-law could grieve with the knowledge he gained. While Giulia's 53rd birthday was a milestone that November, she made no fuss about it given the loss of her grandson and sadly news came in that Antonio's oldest daughter, Tess, passed away from a snow storm on November 27th.

1300 - Day 1

Meet the Norwood family..... they live on a small farm in the outskirts of Windenbug, a fief of Lord Gilbert de Clare.

William inherited this farm from his father when he passed while William was just a child. He never had any siblings but found a responsible wife in Eva. She's happy when she is surrounded by people while her husband is the exact opposite.

Together they had 3 children who help out around the farm.

The youngest is Evan who is responsible for the chickens, even though his big brother keeps a watchful eye out... He knows that his little brother likes to cause mischief.

Evan turned 7 not too long ago and has developed some other interests.... He takes to archery quite well

Tara is the middle child of the family. She helps out with planting and harvesting in the garden but most of her time she spends out in the forest... The family doesn't really understands what draws her to it but Eva is always thankful for the supplies she brings home.

Finnian, the eldest son, mostly manages the crops and goes out hunting with his father when the pantry need filling. He has a really good relationship with his sister.

The year 1300 catches them a little bit off guard. They used up most of their supplies in the last winter and William goes out to hunt almost every day. Eva is worried that they will run short in a few days.

"Finnian, do you think you could run an errand down at the Bishops? I asked him to set aside some fish for storing and I just want to know if he has had any luck catching some.... I would do it myself but I'm feeling faint today."

"Of course mother, you should rest today. Don't worry, I wanted to talk to Emma anyway. We wanted to go to curch together before Easter."

When Finnian leaves, she lies done immeadiatly. She isn't feeling good lately, there were even a few fainting spells... If it doesn't get better she knows she need to go to the village doctor.

Finnian meanwhile has walked over to their neighbours, the Bishops. He's anxious about his mothers illness but happy that he can see his childhood friend, Emma.

"Sorry, but my father is out fishing today, he didn't catch much the last few days. I'll be happy to come by and bring some if he catches any."

"My mother is really worried, I think I'll just go there and ask him myself... or... We could go down to the river and try to catch some?"

"Sure, we can try... but don't be disappointed when we don't catch anything."

They don't catch anything but at least they had time to talk. For some time now Finnian is drawn to Emma's company but he can't quite put together why.... They decide to go to church together next week to pray for a good harvest at least.

But Finnian didn't need to worry. When Emmas father returns shortly after they get home, he shares a bountiful catch with him.

Emma watches him leave with a smile on her face. She's happy that he feels a bit calmer now.

When he comes home that evening, he's happy to see that his mother recovered somewhat she sits together with the neighbours who brought over some food so share.

"Look, Finnian, the neighbours brought some pheasants they hunted today, I can prepare it for tomorrow."

"That's nice, mother. The Bishops also had some fish to share. Are you feeling better?"

"Yes, love, thank you. Let me take those to the pantry."

The neighbours look at their exchange fondly.

"Well, Finnian, you've grown up to be quite the responsible young man. Eva, would you like me to bring over my daughter sometime? He should start to think about marriage soon."

Finnian smiles awkwardly and looks away. Emma's smiling face shows up in his mind.

Dear readers, It's with great joy and enthusiasm that I make my first post in this space.

My name is Ellie, a young girl of twenty-one years who is passionate about the universe of The Sims; if I had one last wish, it would be to spend hours upon hours creating stories with my Sims. My passion in the game is the Decades Challenge, so I decided to create my own challenge and share my story here.

I must confess that I am new to the simblr world; I have never had a simblr, and I have never managed one. This is my first (I am so excited)! Therefore, I am still learning how everything works here. Additionally, English is not my first language, and I fiercely struggle with English grammar. So, there may be some strange words and errors; please bear with me <3.

I have a very interesting and exciting story to share. I can't wait for you to meet the characters. I have spent countless hours dedicated to each member of the founding family, shaping their personalities, exploring their fears, dreams, and ambitions. Each character is unique, with their own journey and contribution to the story that I am eager to share with you.

Year 1673

While the losses in Tartosa were weighing heavily on the family's mind, in Henford the Carlisle home was a bustle of activity. Sadly everyone there could relate to the losses felt but with the support, Orelia was doing as well as she could given the circumstances.

Gianna and Roberto were more than happy to help their son and granddaughter following their loss though it was hard to think of such a young lady being taken from the family like that they did their best. It was hard though since little Marina was only two when her mother passed. She didn't quite understand beyond that Orsa was gone now. As Spring came again, Roberto was already suggesting that Alessandro remarry as his daughter did need a mother in her life and while they would support him, it wasn't as if they were getting any younger.

It had been months since the loss of his sister but slowly but surely, Giovanni Cesare started to feel more normal as he got back to playing.

In Henford, Sarah was happy to share that she and Antonio were expecting once again and while both of them were fearful remembering the loss of their first son, they were hopeful that this time would be different and they weren't alone as not only were they expecting but so was Orelia.

Now that the losses weren't so fresh, Giulia did her best to cheer up for her sons that were still with her especially Giovanni Cesare as he was young enough to still need her help and support more than her oldest who she supported more by helping with the triplets.

With the triplets getting older and each day growing more independent, Ashley felt more confident in her skills as a mother though she feared another pregnancy as three was a handful already and the idea of a fourth or fifth or a dreaded sixth made her head spin. Giuliano was more than happy to try and avoid another pregnancy but more because he was eager to get back to having time to themselves as a couple, something the pair rarely did with three little ones always wanting attention.

Still as the year came to a close and the triplets were all sleeping though the night, albeit inconsistently, the young couple was happy to rest and reconnect together as they gossiped about how it wouldn't be long now until their kids were old enough to play not only with Marina but Katharine and Leonardo were expecting their first as was the Collari couple even with their issues, so the pair were already anticipating their free time in the next few years and celebrated the fact that they had three healthy children.

Year 1672 - Part 2

Olimpia was buried near her family shortly before the month ended.

As bright as the year had begun, the entire family was blown away at how quickly devastation had hit them. Ashley feared for what the future was to bring while Giulia couldn't help but wonder if she was destined to outlive all her family as of the ten children she had throughout her life, only three made it past that November.

While the family worried still about the future, the triplets grew out of the fragility of newness and grew into themselves. Baldissere inherited his grandmother's purple eyes while Bastiano was the only one to carry the magic of the Carlisle line within him. Borthola inherited her father's black hair and while they were far too young to tell which parent they took the most after, it was clear that each had their own distinct personality with the eldest being a sunny little boy, Bastiano was always on the move despite being too young to actually do much moving and Borthola was a very intense child where her moods were always very clear.

Giovanni's ghost visited at the end of the year with good tidings that the famine would not continue to last and he was glad to learn of the birth of his latest grandchildren.

The news that the famine would end soon was a relief that let the family finally release the breath they hadn't quite known they had been holding. But with that relief came the safety to finally allow the grief from their losses to hit them as the year drew to an end.

Year 1672 - Part 1

TW/CW: Death, Child Death

Marina grew into a curious little girl after outgrowing her infancy while age became all the clearer in Tala.

Now that Marina was bigger and required less constant attention, Orsa and Alessandro were able to give each other more of their time though their daughter was also happy to join in on cuddles from her Mama and Papa.

Despite living in the same home, the Morosini family were living two mostly separate lives as the newlyweds spent most of their time together in their own bubble of marital bliss before their baby was to arrive and Giulia was happy to watch her two youngest children grow into themselves.

But as the spring came without rains, Orsa was the first to vocalize the fears of another famine especially as San Sequoia had been hit with one for years now... she feared that it was now their turn.

Of course, the younger children were shielded from the worries the adults faced by making them study at least until anything could be officially confirmed.

In a small ceremony, Leonardo and Katharine married that March. Growing the Ludovici family in an official sense.

Now that Marcello was older, he was getting an education since it seemed that despite Landon's marriage, it may not result in children meaning he might actually be in the running for head of the household after his uncle but he had no interest in that. While Orsolina did want the security the head of household could bring them, she wasn't keen on making her son do anything he didn't want to but in a lot of ways he reminded her of Orelia who couldn't stay in Tartosa because of her personality. She wanted her son to find his own path and so despite not wanting to deal with succession issues she hoped that Landon and Jolene would work through whatever they had and produce an heir to lift the burden off her son's shoulders.

Juliette grew into a little girl who loved to play and laugh. While her father and stepmother could seemingly careless about her especially as they prepared for a new child of their own, her older siblings particularly her brother were actually quite eager to welcome her now that she was old enough to play with.

The fears of famine reaching the shores of Tartosa were true though as the Morosini crops died off. Luckily the family had plenty of stored foods so it was fine for them but the fears of an extended famine were lingering in the back of their minds. That said, the newlyweds had a youthful sense of optimism and support for each other. Giulia however couldn't help but remember the loss of her sister, Osana. Worse yet, war had broken out and while thankfully there weren't too many people enlisted, Giulia was saddened to hear that her former brother-in-law, the head of the Ludovici family had died that May shortly after his birthday.

Ashley's pregnancy was progressing nicely albeit she was much larger than anticipated but when the midwife revealed that there was certainly more than one in there, that explained it. With Ashley growing larger she was glad for Giulia's expertise with pregnancy and given that Giulia had delivered two sets of twins she was all too familiar with the oversized nature of multiples. In a way though it was a stroke of luck that the planting season had been blighted by the famine in that when the children were born likely near harvest time Giuliano would be around to help more what with having no plants to harvest.

July brought with it, Marina's paternal aunt also joining her as a little girl which was good since the Rossi family was incredibly close and now their girls could play together properly.

Unfortunately, Orsa had taken ill and any water she took in was quickly and violently expelled. She was drained all the time and it didn't help that the water they did have was mostly old and stagnant with the freshest water being given to her young daughter. The physician they saved up to hire couldn't really do much for her and on August 4th she went to bed to rest and never got up.

The losses didn't stop as Ashley learned of the passing of her two aunts to the famine which made her heart break especially for her cousins who she knew were now orphaned though only two of them were still pretty young.

Ashley went into labor late at night at the start of September and while the family had been expecting multiples early in the morning on the 2nd, the birth of triplets, Baldissere, Bastiano, and Borthola still left them unprepared.

Orsolina had long hid her own illness especially after the loss of her sister to keep spirits in the family as high as she could but even the water for the nobility wasn't the best quality and the same illness that had claimed her sister that August took her not two weeks after the birth of her brother's children on the 14th.

Marcello often spent time at the Morosini home following his mother's death. Cristofolo had always been closer to their paternal grandmother so both boys took comfort in the family that brought them peace as they processed the loss of their mother.

What should have been a happy time having welcomed three new infants into the family was soured not only by loss but by fear as young Olimpia also began to show signs of illness. She was often so weak and plagued by intense cramping and anything that went in was too often violently expelled.

But still, even among the worries the family made it work as they took shifts to care for not only the infants but Olimpia. Ashley was often asleep downstairs away from the crying infants when she wasn't needed to nurse them as she was constantly tired while Giuliano found that the time spent with his children kept him busy without the farm work.

But despite the constant care for the youngest of Giulia's children, on the 24th of October she slipped away after a long and drawn out battle.

Godwin is a childish but active and friendly man. In his village he was know as quite a womanizer and hopes of making many 'loves' in his new home.

While Alaric feels that family is the most important, he'll be lucky to find a woman that'll take him. He is a socially awkward man with intense paranoia. But if any woman takes the challenge he promises to cook her a great meal!
