No hate but I think he actually did try to initiate a hug with Lisanna but edolas Lucy cut him off. With the action lines it looks like Natsu and Happy are leaping towards Lisanna as if trying to tackle her into a hug when she is caught off guard. She didn’t realise Natsu was there but however Natsu doesn’t get to give Lisanna a hug because edolas Lucy stops him, and then he is seen tearing up and the story goes on etc.

Then later this comes full circle as this time Natsu is the one caught off guard as he didn’t realise Lisanna had come back with him. This time she is the one to initiate the hug with him. I think it’s kind of supposed to represent them mirroring each other, and their hug came full circle. Although Natsu never fully got to initiate the hug with Lisanna I think the intention is there. Technically yes he has never initiated a successful hug with Lisanna considering he was cut off, but I do think the idea he has never initiated a hug with her period is false.

This made me realise what might it be that makes Jax unforgivable according to gooseworx. Maybe he is the reason his friend abstracted, he might have been hurting and lashed out causing his friend to abstract. He was so hurt he starts taking his anger out on everyone else. Now ragatha sees Pomni getting close to Jax and she is filled with worry. She knows what Jax did. She knows it was probably an accident but that doesn’t stop her from putting him into the box of unforgivable. She wants desperately for Pomni not to go down that same path, and the stress of no one being on her side for this is why she may have glitched in the episode. Potential abstraction?

Maybe thats why Jax showed Pomni the “thing in the hall” which was his old friends door. Maybe a part of him was hoping Pomni would recognise it, even though he knows it’s not his old friend. He’s unconsciously projecting that image of his friend onto Pomni. And Pomni doesn’t realise it

Graylu headcanons!

Lucy never really realised how much Gray meant to her until he was gone for a year in the time skip. She never really realised how she felt about him, as she was too dense to see her crush on him. But seeing him with Juvia made her realise she had to put her feelings on the back burner, thinking he wouldn’t feel the same.

Juvia sees Lucy as a love rival because she knows Gray loves Lucy. Juvia does her best to try and copy Lucy but unfortunately she just can never seem to embody what Lucy has that Gray liked about her. Which is Lucy being herself. Juvia is trying too hard.

Gray has liked Lucy since day one of her joining the guild. He always thought she was cute so he decided to stick around her, he’s tried to make the occasional move on her like telling her the dragoncry outfit suits her or when he complimented her maid outfit but he doesn’t force his feelings onto Lucy.

Gray thinks Natsu doesn’t deserve Lucy. He thinks hes too much of a reckless idiot to be able to handle her properly. He wants to be the one she relies on but unfortunately Lucy seems to always look to Natsu first.

Cana knows that Gray likes Lucy, and she often tries to set them up. Cana hates Gruvia, she has known Gray the longest in the guild out of everyone and she knows Juvia is not good for Gray. She wants him to see that too but he is too blinded by his own guilt and believes he owes her himself as the price to pay for her sacrificing her life in alvarez.

Gray still secretly does love Lucy, but after Juvia’s sacrifice he feels indebted to Juvia and feels like he owes his life to her now. He feels like he can’t reject Juvia anymore and that it’s his fault a fellow friend got hurt like that.

Lucy has never bothered to pay attention to how badly Juvia treats Gray. Lucy is a dense romantic so she doesn’t know what a healthy relationship is supposed to look like, she assumes that that’s just a normal relationship and that Juvia is just a little clingy. But if she paid some more attention she would realise it’s the opposite of that. As Lucy matures she will realise that Juvia is not good for Gray and maybe one day finally stand up to Juvia.

Whenever Lucy and Gray are alone around each other they can’t help but feel a little bit shy. They don’t understand why they feel that way.

Gray keeps an eye on Lucy whenever he senses shes in trouble. Like when he followed her home when he assumed she had a stalker. He is very protective of Lucy.

Lucy won’t admit it but she secretly thinks Gray is really good looking. But getting her to admit it will be impossible at the moment.

Whenever Lucy sees the colour blue she thinks about Gray.

Gray likes to read the stories Lucy writes. He gives her feedback and is pretty supportive of her hobby, although Lucy feels embarrassed about it.

Whenever Lucy hasn’t come to the guild in a while Gray will stop by her house to check in on her. One time he stopped by while she was sick so he stayed and helped her feel better with some medicine.

At the moment Lucy is convinced she would pick Natsu over Gray, she feels quietly loyal to Natsu. But Natsu has no romantic feelings towards Lucy. She is just a friend to him and Lucy’s love Is unrequited. Lucy puts Natsu on a pedestal in her mind, she glorifies him and has an idealised version of him in her head. However Natsu thinks Lucy is just Lucy, he doesn’t see her as anything but his teammate. Once Lucy realises this, she will begin to realise Gray is the one she really loves.

They like to prank eachother. Everytime Natsu tries to prank or tease Lisanna she always turns the tables on him, if you think Natsu is a pro at pranking than he pales in comparison to Lisanna. She can always keep up with his silly side and often she teases him a lot. Unlike Lucy who always gets mad at him for it, Lisanna is able to match Natsu’s pace. However sometimes Lisanna may get grumpy about it if shes in a bad mood.

Natsu avoids Lisanna not because he doesn’t like her but because he likes her too much. He’s afraid of losing her again. That fear makes him feel weak. So he does his best to have as little time around her as possible. He still enjoys being around her but he won’t stay for too long, he is emotionally unavailable when it comes to Lisanna. This is something Lisanna noticed and she has convinced herself he doesn’t care about her that much anymore, so she gently put her feelings aside. Although that isn’t the case at all, Natsu genuinely loves Lisanna he just needs a wake up call to realise he doesn’t have his whole life to wait on those feelings.

They both love cats, Natsu and Lisanna bond over their shared joy of cute things. Although Natsu is more embarrassed over liking cute things Lisanna encourages him not to be embarrassed and that every strong person has their soft side too, just like Mira does!

Lisanna sometimes checks up on natsu to see how he’s doing. She can tell when he’s feeling down, because he so often hides it most of his down days go un noticed. She’ll often approach him and be subtle about her checking in on him knowing he likes to hide his emotions and instead will try to offer him a drink or an encouraging comment.

Natsu always stands close to Lisanna whenever they are in the same room. He won’t realise he’s doing it but he’ll purposefully walk by her or sit at a table next to her, or if shes in a group conversation he will butt in trying to act cool with one of his quips. He finds it easier to talk to Lisanna in group settings as there is less pressure for him to realise how he feels about her. He can just focus on antagonising gray or something or teasing elfman.

Lisanna always keeps an eye on Natsu whenever he’s pushing himself. She’ll sit by him while he’s healing up, or just stay close so she can help him out. She knows she isn’t strong like him but it doesn’t stop her from trying to help him.

Lucy had thought Natsu and Lisanna were an item when she first joined the guild. Saying something about “so natsu has a special little girlfriend huh?” But ever since Lisanna came back she’d noticed they’d been distant with eachother. She’d silently hoped they had drifted apart and she often tells herself Natsu and Lisanna aren’t like that anymore. She blocks out their interactions because Lucy has a crush on Natsu, even though she’s in denial about it. She won’t realise the way she writes Lisanna out of her books, or the way she doesn’t really acknowledge lisanna. A part of Lucy feels really insecure about Lisanna.

Natsu feels like he isn’t good enough to be around Lisanna anymore. He remembers not being able to protect her and the guilt he feels causes him to distance himself, he believes he wouldn’t be able to protect her and the guilt crushes him. He feels like he failed her deep down, and thats why he backs off to let her spend time with her family. After all he thinks “why would she wanna waste her time with me? I couldn’t protect her im not good enough to waste her time.”

Lisanna doesn’t see Natsu that way though. She is proud of how strong he’s grown and she knew he’d always flourish into a strong man. Although a part of her senses he’s not okay beneath the surface. She wants to get closer to him but every time she tries he’s suddenly disappearing again off on a new mission or whatnot.

Gildarts is one of the few who sees Natsu and Lisannas dynamic. He is a little disappointed the two aren’t as close as they used to be but he believes they just need time. He thinks young love always has its ups and downs. Although he now wonders about Lucy and whether or not she plays a part in the rift.

Natsu feels more comfortable around Lucy because he was able to protect her. He feels strong around her, like he can pretend to be the man he wants to be seen as. He never lets Lucy see his weak side. He doesn’t cry in front of her. He wants to be seen as someone she can rely on. A part of him is fulfilling his failure towards Lisanna by fulfilling it through Lucy. And since there is no trauma with her its easy to just project onto Lucy. Although because of this Natsu doesn’t really treat Lucy with much respect. Natsu however doesn’t let himself be vulnerable with Lucy. He always tries to be strong. Lucy thinks that she knows Natsu in and out and that he has nothing to hide but she is completely wrong, Natsu is hiding a lot from her and theres a lot beneath the surface she really doesn’t know about him.

hi! i previously asked a question in regards to your opinions on juvia. Honestly i feel that Juvia's character was completely watered down and wasted!! She was so badass in the earlier seasons and was extremely powerful but was kind of dumbed down to become gray obsessed. Her powers themselves could be SOOOO OP but i feel that mashima kind of forgot about the true potential of her character and made her hyper focused on gray.

Also, i personally don't like gruvia because i feel that it's toxic!! Juvia is obsessed with this man for YEARS and Gray doesn't or hardly reciprocates until they have to fight each other to the death and she chooses to kill herself on his behalf? Yes it was a good sacrifice but it just seems so toxic to me. He never reciprocated and when he finally does, i feel like he does it out of guilt and in attempts to try and make it up to juvia.

Frankly, i feel that if Juvia ended up with Lyon it would be a much better relationship and would make more sense too!!😭😭

Oh girl me too! I ship Lyvia HARD. I really want Juvia to learn to love herself first and to find a man that loves her for her. Juvia has changed into many different versions of herself throughout the show in an effort to win over Gray’s affection. You can see how she slowly starts catering to what she believes he loves instead of what she wants to be. She begins wearing brown boots like Lucy because she believes Lucy is his type (which she is, confirmed by Gemini). By the end of the main series Juvia is a completely different version of herself looks wise. Her short spiky hair has grown out into wavy locks. Her narrow sharp eyes have mellowed out into larger bigger eyes.

Lyon however loved Juvia the moment he saw her. She didn’t need to change and she didn’t need to love him back for him to love her. Lyon loved Juvia as she is and that is why I love the ship. He loved her so much as to ship her with Gray because he knew it would make her happy. Juvia doesn’t need or deserve to be with Gray, she should give Lyon a chance.

Juvia also does not deserve to be with Gray. Juvia has guilt tripped him beyond belief, not giving him a second of space. It’s a wonder Gray hasn’t gone insane yet (technically he has if you consider him trying to kill Natsu as his breaking point). Gray can’t even grieve his own father in peace without Juvia barging in and making it about herself. Declaring “i don’t have the right to love you” instead of “I’m sorry for your loss, it must be hard.” Gray’s fathers death WAS NEVER about Juvia and her love for him but she found a way to twist it into being all about her.

Even when Gray was mourning the anniversary of Ur, his masters death. Juvia decides to butt in and make the day all about herself by forcing him to accept her scarf, guilt tripping him with her sadness instead of letting him grieve in silence. Gray being the kind hearted boy he is never tries to get mad at Juvia. Yes he tried to assert boundaries but Juvia never listens and it never goes beyond failed attempts at agency due to the fact Gray can’t muster up the courage to force his boundaries on juvia. He doesn’t have the heart to raise his voice at her.

Gray is constantly shrinking his own wants needs and desires for Juvia. It’s unhealthy and it’s no wonder he is depressed. He can’t get a moment to himself. Juvia is the opposite of what Gray needs. If anything Gray needs a restraining order against her. I’m glad to see there is other people like you who see Gruvia for what it is instead of “couple goals.” :)

Yesss! I ship literally any other Lucy ship besides Nalu. Graylu is the main one I ship her with though, it just makes the most sense. In my eyes their the most compatible with each other, their both reserved romantically and need time to open up in that aspect and they both know how to nurture and be patient with one another. Natsu is a fiery spark that will burn fast and hard but tire Lucy out. She’s not made to keep up with him. He keeps her angry, she’s always yelling at him. She needs someone who can nurture her soft side and allow her to have quiet calm moments during her high energy rowdy chaotic life. Gray is that person. He’s quiet and understanding, he doesn’t rush in recklessly, and he’s someone Lucy already cares about.

And yes I do believe Gruvia is terrible. If there’s anyone I wouldn’t ship Gray with it’s Juvia. Juvia in my eyes does not even care about Gray as a person, she seems him as a challenge. An object to break down into a trophy of a man she wants to display in her room, like she already does with the many plushies she has of him. Juvia sees Gray like a shiny toy to buy. She thinks the more she chips at his resolve the more he’ll realise his “love” for her. That’s not love. It’s abusive manipulation. Gray is a man with a big heart he deeply cares about the women in his life and with no one there to tell him he is not in the wrong for rejecting Juvia he starts to slowly believe he is wrong for rejecting her advances. Gray is a man who blames himself for a lot of things so it makes sense he’d neglect his own happiness wants and desires for the sake of Juvia’s eventually.

Lucy imo is what Gray needs. Someone who doesn’t try to break him. Lucy cares about Gray, as a friend. And maybe that friendship could grow into something romantic if they are patient with each other.

It’s always okay to ask me. Trash talking is genuinely so therapeutic for me.

I don’t like Lucy because I think she’s annoying and weak. I think her character development came much too late. She’s whiny and hardly ever does anything for herself until the final arc or so. I wish she’d gotten her star dresses over the course of the series rather than literally just give her all of them in the final season. Like. What was that? We could’ve seen her growth over the course of the series and come into her skills as a celestial wizard. She doesn’t do a whole lot on her own, compared to Yukino for example, who knows how to fight hand to hand as well as use her spirits. Everything Lucy does for the majority of the series is her keys, or they’re spells someone else gave her. She didn’t really have to work for anything and didn’t grow as a character on her own.

As for Nalu: their friendship is fine, I actually like them as friends, but Natsu never looked at Lucy in a romantic light. His heart (imo) has always been with Lisanna. Adding uncomfortable fan service of Natsu accidentally feeling up Lucy doesn’t condone romance. It’s just.. comedic service at most. The two of them didn’t have deep chemistry with one another. Especially on Natsu’s side- he never was interested in Lucy as more than a friend. He never treated her uniquely special compared to the other guild members.

If you’re asking me, Natsu had the best (only) chemistry with Lisanna (and he treated her differently than all the other girls)c and Lucy had chemistry with Loke and Cana. Especially Cana, I think Lucy’s strongest arc, where she grew the most as a character, was Tenrou Island. Lucy and Cana had great chemistry and worked well together and Lucy had a chance to really stand up and fight for someone else.

Hey like why are people so fucking pissed at Natsu for leaving? The guy loses his FATHER watches him get MURDERED right in front of his own fucking eyes. After years of denying that Igneel is gone and searching for him (for basically over half of his life). Natsu's character has never been the most concrete because of the horrible writing but Igneel is one of the people Natsu's character never changed towards. He's still in awe of his father he still loves him. And the entire fandom looking a man who just lost his fucking father and saying: well he left Lucy! And that's wrong! No it's not wrong because Natsu like everyone else was fucking grieving and just went through an entire fucking war LIKE EVERYONE. This one of the times I'm completely enraged with the fandom because seriously? Natsu lost his dad & everyone's going " But Lucy! " No fuck that! Lucy is not comparable to Igneel in Natsu's mind. Sure she's important but she's not his fucking DAD.
