it’s been said before and it will be said again but i’m begging you all nicely to restrain yourselves from being so casually aggressive and rude and obnoxious in the tags & reblogs of a complete stranger’s posts. no one wants to know that you hate [tv show that op giffed]. no one wants to know that you hate [character that op drew]. no one wants to hear you being ugly and negative for no reason. say what you want to say in your own post. don’t hit the reblog button. blacklist relevant tags. unfollow or block relevant accounts. log out. shut down. get help.

The purest form of love is consideration. When someone thinks about how things would make you feel. Pays attention to detail. Holds you in regard when making decisions that could affect you. In any bond, how much they care about you can be found in how much they consider you

Damn, sometimes I really hate this fandom. Some of these people are just straight up nasty if things don’t go their way. God forbid an author take any personal time. Your favorite story is not worth the price of the author’s mental health.
I’m just so exited for POV to return!

Ok ok ok...
It's been almost 18 years since it aired, but who cares I'm talking about it anyway.
I've seen a lot of people hating on Cyberwoman. And yeah, I understand why. That costume choice was, er, quite something. But it's still my favourite episode and yk why? The build up. The plotline. And most of all the acting. Oh my god the acting. My favourite scene has got to be the tourist office, because oh my days have you seen the way Gareth David Lloyd plays Ianto? It gives me chills. After watching it, I rewatched Everything Changes and Ghost Machine because I never actually noticed Ianto in them, unless he's speaking. The only time you ever see him is when he intentionally draws attention to himself, which he rarely does. I watched them again, specifically focusing on Ianto. He's barely in them. He's one of the main 5 characters, but in the first three episodes he has one of the most minor roles. Like, you see him let Gwen into the Hub, delete the stuff she typed to make herself remember and see him introduced. That's it for episode one. And yes, everyone has a minor role in that, but you never actually see him as part of the team. He works alone, always.
Episode three really highlights that for me. He appears every so often with a funny comment. He has less screen time than Rhys. If it wasn't for the fact that I was actively thinking about him, I would have completely forgotten that he was there. One of his rare appearances really got to me - the ending. Jack gives him the ghost machine to put in the secure archives. That's normal, the archives are his area.
Except Jack doesn't even look at him. He just holds it out, like Ianto is a servant, not someone with years of experience dealing with aliens. Ianto worked at Torchwood One. He was the most qualified of anyone on that team when each of them joined. Owen was medically trained, but no experience with aliens. Tosh was a genius, but she had only experienced aliens through wrong blueprints of their technology, plus a charge of treason. Gwen had police training, nothing more. She got a job by being stubborn, and in the right place at the right time. Jack was reckless, dangerous, and did not want to join Torchwood. He only did it because he needed to do something in the 100+ years that he would be waiting for the Doctor.
Ianto had everything taken from him all at once, and nobody bothered to check on him. He looked fine, so they didn't give it any more thought. They of all people should know that that's not how it works. Ianto was repressing his grief, exhausting himself with the amount he worked both at his job and caring for Lisa. He never had any desire to cause anyone any harm. He was blinded by overwhelming grief. When humans experience loss, the automatic reaction is to cling to what you have. For most people, that means reaching out to friends and family, creating a support system. Ianto lost all his friends, all at once. We don't hear about his family until S3 (goddamn S3), but it's implied that they aren't close. I haven't listened to any of the audios, so if there's more to it than that then I don't know it.
Ianto had nothing, except an echo pretending to be Lisa. He did the most natural thing in the world, clung to what he had. Or at least, what he thought he had. Don't blame Ianto for the events of Cyberwoman. His actions correlate with normal reactions to grief. Yes, his actions were extreme. But so was his grief.

Though I'm not on the autism spectrum, I deeply resonate with those sentiments. It's the same kind of trauma/PTSD that children who endured years of bullying at school and/or abuse at home often experience.
It's a lengthy journey to stop caring about others' opinions and simply be yourself. Your mind becomes tangled, shaping yourself into someone else's image just to fit in, fearing isolation and rejection. You constantly wonder why, even when there's no clear answer. The stress of trying to please others and hide your true self takes its toll, always wearing a mask for the sake of safety and sanity. It's easier to be part of the crowd than to stand out.
Even after you think you've overcome it, those feelings can resurface, like when starting a new job or attending social gatherings. You wonder if others see through your facade and laugh at your struggles. It's a tough battle.
"Not everyone is going to like you."
And look, I logically get that. Different personalities, different beliefs, views etc.
But the high masking autistic side of me deeply wants to know why and how I can change it because this outward personality has been carefully crafted over decades of successful scripts, reading books on body language, conversation studies and people watching.
I have carefully pruned back the parts of myself that others find distasteful, weird, off-putting...the "uncanny valley" effect that I give if not carefully schooling every single aspect of my outward appearance.
So, when that's rejected, there is a part of me that needs to know why. What needs to be pruned? What needs to be further detailed like a sports car so that I'm running correctly and I'm appeasing to everyone?
And also... This is an aspect I'm trying hard to unlearn. I was diagnosed late so my whole personality was built upon these rules and laws of interaction. Unlearning that and trying to accept that being me, authentically, is okay...that shit is difficult.

The issue with Ramesses wasn't actually about the screentime (I mean it didn't really help) but rather how she responded to the matter. "Be thankful he's alive" and switching to blaming fans who wanted to romance him when she's the one who offered to open the branch based on fan interest was a bit condescending and hurtful tbh.
Hi Anon, thanks for reaching out!
I totally get where you're coming from. My focus was on addressing the comments and "confessions" about Rame's screen time and fewer "romantic options" in Season 2. But hey, you don’t have to be a Remy fan to enjoy her stories.
I'm the kind of person who like to separate matters when it’s required. As with JK Rowling and the Harry Potter universe, for example. I was absolutely never a fan of Rowling, but that didn’t stop me from fancying the universe that was part of my childhood.
Remy might not be everyone's cup of tea, but as long as her character doesn’t mess with the storytelling, there's not much to complain about. You can just ignore the author (like I do) and enjoy her stories on Romance Club. ☺️

Amidst the recent buzz surrounding SOTCN and Ramesses as a Love Interest, some concerns have cropped up among fans, prompting me to chime in after digging into the matter.
First off, it's worth clarifying that Ramesses IS indeed a genuine ending LI. Remy simply mentioned that, being a later addition due to fan demand, his route might have slightly less screen time – which makes sense.
Now, there's been chatter about Livius hogging the spotlight in Season 2, leaving fans of other LIs like Amen, Agnia, Ramesses, or even Set feeling a bit overlooked. But let's break it down logically:
Given Eva's current priorities of survival, settling her debt to Set, and unravelling the mystery of Isman, it's only natural for her to interact more with Set and Livius, her available allies. This isn't about Remy playing favourites; it's just the storyline unfolding organically.
With Amen posing a significant threat to Eva's safety (antagonist of the story, let me remind you), it's understandable that she's focused on dealing with him rather than indulging in romance.
As for Ramesses, his absence in Season 2 stems from his need to flee danger both from the Hunters and his brother Renmao. It's a waiting game until Eva can reunite with him as promised (and I romance him too, I know how excruciating this waiting can be).
I don’t have anything concrete to say about Agnia because, no offence to her followers, but I think her role in the story is a bit shallow and serves no purpose except being the LGBTQ+ LI (like Lima in KCOD, which is truly sad…). However, Agnia's role may seem limited at first glance, but recent developments reveal her as a formidable adversary to Eva. Her storyline mirrors Amen's, with Eva needing to tackle immediate challenges before considering romance.
As for Remy's reputation, while she may be a controversial figure, her storytelling prowess is undeniable. Her stories are always complete, with choices that truly matter. All routes a player can take thoughtfully lead to a specific outcome. I remember being so impressed reading Kali and finding out how many freaking endings there were not only based on your LI but also the path you were on, whether it was Loyalty/Independence BUT ALSO Rage/Kindness of Goddess as well as Respect. All your stats count in Remy's stories, and that's what makes her works so popular, so can we please give her some leeway here? You don't have to like the person she is, but at least her commitment to crafting immersive stories deserves some recognition.
Apologies for the long-winded explanation, and thanks for sticking with me till the end 🫶🏻.
@sonofenki After reading your recent Asks (which I totally resonate with) and the recent confessions of @romanceclub-confessionss, I felt compelled to share my thoughts. As both a reader/player of the app and a writer myself, it's disheartening to see that some people fail to grasp that a story cannot solely cater to their personal desires. Whether it's Song of the Crimson Nile, Kali, or Astrea's Broken Heart, these narratives follow a specific storyline guided by the author's vision, all crafted to entertain readers. It's essential to recognise that these stories encompass more than just romance or characters' screen time. Unfortunately, it seems that this aspect is often overlooked, overshadowed by fleeting teenage whims. Take, for instance, the persistent requests for DR on Facebook comments, despite the known release schedule, or the complaints about only one chapter being available for a favourite story in an update. Do people realise that authors have lives outside of fulfilling their immediate desires? Not to mention the considerable effort required in storytelling, artwork, coding, and more. 😑
Apologies for the sudden venting. I'll refrain from further ramblings now! 😅

😑😑😑
Seriously, can we please drop the whole incest discussion already? Firstly, it's fiction, mates! These characters are made-up (sort of, since some are based on real individuals). Secondly, they're cousins, which, let's be real, isn't even the worst thing that's happened historically. Are we going to pretend like this wasn't common back in the day, especially in the era DALS is set? Are people really going to act like royalty and even common folk didn't marry their own siblings sometimes? Come on...

Confession:
