This is hilarious. I asked my cousin (who has never seen the show, BTW. I doubt she's even heard ot it because I never mentioned it to her.) But I asked if she wanted to take her kid to this little waterpark this weekend since we'll both be off and haven't gotten to see each other in ages.

Girl looked me dead in my face and went "I would rather chew off my own foot." Which, absolutely valid because yeah, running after a toddler is exhausting. But the fact that she said the line word for word had me cracking up.

I normally don't go for 8bit graphics games (think old Pokemon) but I had a dream and now I'm thinking things.

How cute would it be to have a game like that but with favorite bands instead? And the whole time you play, it's a collection of their songs in 8bit mode as the soundtrack. You run around and meet characters like Gerard Way, Andy Hurley, Vessel, artists like that and the whole point of the game is to save music from some evil entity that hates music.

I just think it would be fun.

If anyone wants vindication for their feelings on S4, I highly suggest going and watching Amanda The Jedi's reaction videos to the Umbrella Academy. They're wonderful and her reaction to S4 just makes me laugh every time I watch it.

Also like the first two videos are her going feral for Eliot so that's really fun to watch as well.

Anytime that someone gets the whole age thing wrong with Five, I picture Klaus going "Bzzt! Wrong answer. But try again." And eventually it becomes kinda like family fued with the others. Five is just there suffering his family's antics with coffee in both hands and a scowl.

tip for girls. if you're self conscious about your face you can wear a face mask if you want. wearing a mask is helpful for disease prevention. and also for hiding stubble if you didn't have the energy to shave. or any other reason you might want to cover your face. and!! you can get them in a color that matches your outfits. you can get ones with a kitty face or a cute design. it's good to do. and feels nice!

Diego was intended to be the joke of the entire season and it pissed me off in ways I cannot describe. The fat shaming, trying to make him out to be a bad dad (the fight at the restaurant, the fight at the birthday party, etc.)

All of it was intended in the direction to make him out to be a bad option in order to have Lila ask for the break and so that the whole Homewrecker Duo thing wouldn't technically be considered as bad. (At least that's what the crazy people thought.) Obviously they were wrong. That's what I stand on at least.

the umbrella academy already loved to treat diego with very limited dignity but i think the thing that single handedly contributed to s4’s downfall is when they decided that he did not know how to spell screw. “did you s-k-r-e-w my wife” will forever live in infamy bc he literally completed the same rigorous courses (academic and otherwise) as the rest of his siblings growing up there is no logical explanation to him fucking that up other than the writers just straight up nerfing him

So, my brain does this thing of where it will get quiet and start thinking sad stuff which tends to make me very uncomfortable and I start to overtime alot of stuff. And this will often collide with my interests depending on what characters are involved in the media that I'm thinking of at the time. And, Five Hargreeves....you poor man.

One thing that always hurts my heart so much is thinking about the fact that he spent over 30 years in the Apocalypse. A little, in-over-his-head, barely begun puberty, precious boy who then had absolutely nobody around him. His house was a pile of rubble so he didn't even have the ability to grab things from his room that might have helped him feel the tiniest bit better.

Then you think about his survival. He was raised to be logical and think ahead. Attempting to eat anything fresh and save the non-perishables for later. And I stand with that man, Twinkies are one of the fucking nastiest things ever created. I've had one my entire life and said never again. Taking clothes from some places still standing, living in the dirt and ash and having to do everything himself. That includes medical too.

Suffering for years but still working so hard to try to return to his family. Eating bugs and drinking expired wine. No sound except his own voice and eventually you have to stop talking because it takes energy. Energy he didn't have to spare.

Sometimes I wish we had gotten to see more of Five's time in the Apocalypse and then I remember that my heart is a dandelion. One more gust of wind and I'm down.

can i just say that the disconnect between the published author community and the fanfic community is both the most entertaining shit i pay attention to and the most hilarious/depressing clusterfuck?

we're specifically talking about the romance author community here, obviously. as an avid reader of both published books and fanfic, as well as a fanfic author, i have a toe dipped in both worlds, though i will always e more loyal to the fanfic community than the romance community. (i trust this needs no elaboration as to why). honestly, at this point, a large part of the reason i even pay attention to the published romance authors is the sheer drama and entertainment.

it's like---there are fanfics getting published, right? i feel like every week i wake up and hear news of some new dramonie fic getting a facelift. i'm sure y'all here with me get what i mean, lol. they're popping up faster than pimples before a school dance.

now the published authors all act like fanfic is lower, right? they think fanfic doesn't count as real fiction, they view it as a copying of the original material, all that shit. us in the fanfic community unfortunately are well aware of the idiotic misconceptions. that we're just plagarizers, that it's little more than child's play, that we only have porn on ao3, shit like that. literally the most blatant misunderstanding of what fanfic stands for, so much so that it's honestly amazing how widely believed all that shit is.

then there's the added drama of the divides within the published author community regarding the dramonie itself. some stand against JKR, others don't, the usual.

now here comes the funny part---when an author publishes their dramonie fic and allows it to be branded as such, ANNOUNCES it to the community, there comes a divide. the other authors who either think, "you're validating JKR by publishing this" and the ones that don't care about it being JKR but care about it being fanfiction. as such, the options are literally "against JKR", "against fanfiction", and "doesn't give a shit". and the author community likes to think they're all high and mighty for this, when in reality us REAL fanfiction writers know:

the harry potter fic writers are divided into "support JKR" and "don't support JKR". the former are hated by the community at large, the community that is made up by a majority of queer people. the latter would never publish their fanfic and brand it as dramonie. as such, any author that does this is not a REAL fanfiction writer---so group two of the jugemental authors (the ones that are like "this is fanfiction. disgusting" are completely irrelevant. that's not a fanfiction author, y'all can have them. we don't want them any more. we probably should have been tipped off by the fact that they wrote a straight, cis, toxic ship anyway . . . "

lmfao it's just hilarious because the published authors are like "we've got to defend our honor. that person right there *points to dramonie author* writes FANFIC"

and meanwhile any real fanfic author knows: no one who writes dramonie with enough righteousness and confidence to PUBLISH IT is not a fanfiction writer in the first place. that's a type of bull-headedness that belongs SOLELY to y'all published authors, thank you very much. also, if you support JKR enough to brand your "book" as dramonie, then you were ejected from the community, not rasied to the higher title of "published authors"

This goes out to anybody who can do more than draw stick figures cause that's kinda my limit but I thought you might like the idea. Basically our wonderful TUA family (and others) dressed up in MCR era outfits. And yes, Five is gonna be in the suit from the Helena music video. I don't make the rules here.
