    she nodded, twisting her fingers a little. “i’ll talk to him. i will.” she promised softly.

    “he came here just for me.” she said softly, watching clary’s hands. “we’d talked on the app for a while and i mentioned coming and he came to see me and decided to stay. he is genuine in his care.”

she sighed a little. ‘ i believe he cares about you and really likes you, sarabeth. ’ she said gently. ‘ i just believe that those are selfish, he doesn’t want to deal with you being sick or having a complicated life. but i’d like him to change and put you first as a human being and that does mean that he should care about being kind to your family. ’

    she turned her hands over and squeezed her twins’ lightly, sighing softly. “i know, i know. i appreciate that, i really do. i just - i wish you three could all get along.”

‘ when i see him being genuine and not selfish about you, then i’ll get along with him, currently all auden and i have been shown is you going to hospital under his care, him immediately trying to get you off your diet plan to go to disneyland and day drinking and starting fights. ’

    she turned her hands over and squeezed her twins’ lightly, sighing softly. “i know, i know. i appreciate that, i really do. i just - i wish you three could all get along.”

    “i will, i will, i promise.” she said, rubbing her cheeks anxiously.

she took her hands and gently placed them on her own lap. ‘ you’re okay, i’m trying to be supportive. ’

    she sighed, grimacing. “i’ll talk to him.” she promised. “you know i’d never choose a boy over you and auden.”

‘ then possibly let him know that he didn’t get one over on your ugly step sisters and he has nothing to gloat over, we support your happiness even if it’s not with someone we like. because i’m getting really sick of him causing fights with everyone. first me, then my boyfriend, then auden - then me again.  ’

‘ i was sitting in the lounge and he was infront of me loudly chatting to someone bragging about how happy he is with you, knowing i don’t approve of him. ’ she said. ‘ and like, it’s a joke because as if you’d choose him over us, but we want you to be happy and have a boyfriend and have someone you love - but i think it’d be nice if he showed a little more humility and respect to auden and i. ’

    she blinks, blue eyes widening. “what?”

    “you’re too sweet.”

He pulls her close. “I love you Sarabeth.”

“My sugar baby is the cutest I am prepared to fight you.”

    “they don’t. they’re just mad.” she promises. “i mean - alone you might worry. but the two of them together are a force to be reckoned with.” she reaches over and touches his hand. “i’d really like it if you three could at least try to get along. you’re three of the most important people in my life.”

He sighs. “You know she hates me right? But I’ll do anything for you so we’ll take her.”

    sarabeth nibbled at her food slowly, peering up when auden entered. she nodded, peeking into the bag, then grimaced a little - she was nowhere near ready to wear a bikini, but a sisters’ day at the beach sounded nice, so she nodded. “sounds fun. i’ll text kylen and let him know too.”

Auden had planned a special day for her sisters. They’d had a stressful month and needed to spend time together. She walked to Clary’s room where Sarabeth was eating. She had bags in her hand and smiled as she walked in. “Hey babies! After Sarabeth eats I figured we could spend the day at the beach? Just us three. I brought presents!” Inside were new bikinis and beach towels with sunscreen and everything they needed for a beach day. “In my Jeep i have our surfboards and everything. What do you say?”

    she shakes her head. “she doesn’t hate you. she’s just.. protective. we’ve always been really protective of each other.”

He sighs. “You know she hates me right? But I’ll do anything for you so we’ll take her.”

    “once, when clary and i were ten. and.. i want her to be included. i want her to come too. she’s my twin, we’ve always done everything together, it only feels right that we go somewhere so special again together, too.”

“When you get out of here we’re going to Disneyland. You can face time with your sister while you eat so she can watch you.”

    she nods, rubbing her eyes. “i haven’t even met your boyfriend yet.”

    she sniffed lightly, leaning over and resting her cheek to clarissa’s shoulder. “i love you.”

‘ i love you too - we’ve spent a lot of time dancing around this and you being in denial - i hope now we can really change things now you’re aware how serious this is. ’ she said. ‘ but if you miss one of our dates to eat, i will bring us home - and you’ll have made me lose my boyfriend too - okay? so there is responsibility on you too to look after yourself. ’

    “disneyland??” she peers up at him, blue eyes wide. “i dunno. i love disney, and i’d love to go, but.. i wanna earn it. i want it to - to be a reward.”

“When you get out of here we’re going to Disneyland. You can face time with your sister while you eat so she can watch you.”

    she leans against him and smiles a little, nodding. “i appreciate that more than i can say.” she hums softly.

    she shrugs a little, sniffing quietly. “it was easy to fall into. i had so many brothers and sisters at home that more often than not any meal was first come first served, so i let myself fall behind.” she nods, rubbing her eyes. “i appreciate that.”

“With me you’ll be front and center okay? You eat first. Your sisters and I will make sure of that okay?” He pulls her close. “I don’t want anything to hurt you ever again. You’re my cupcake.”
