No one cares, but here’s how I felt Folklores story was (I know it’s not actually, I’m just saying how I felt the story went before we knew what we do now.)

The One- An added POV for August, “it would’ve been fun if you would’ve been the one.”

For the rest of the songs:

TLGAD - Obviously about Rebecca. The song says a long about “men and bad habits” and also talks about how they partied a lot. So I began to group (just in my mind) that Rebeccas husband was cheating on her. I also felt this song set up the story for us.

Illicit Affairs- POV of the “other woman” who was sleeping with Rebeccas husband.

Mad Woman- Rebecca finds out about the affair, she is pissed. “Good wives always know.”

Exile- Rebeccas husband tries to gaslight her into feeling bad. They plan to divorce.

This Is Me Trying- Rebeccas husband is contemplating ending his life, he goes home. “I didn’t know if you’d care if I came back”.

My Tears Ricochet- Rebecca and her husband begin to end things, he passed away. She is still angry “crossing out the good years” “drunk on this pain” “cursing my name” - the song would be the POV of her husband (as a ghost I guess. lol)

Mirrorball- the “other woman” is trying to recover from the loss of her secret lover, and tried to find love again.

Finally got to watch Miss Americana.

So many thoughts/emotions.

1. @taylorswift feeling like she “loves for approval/applause.” I 100% feel that. As a singer/songwriter I get the same feeling. I want people to like me, I want to be viewed as a “good girl” and not make anyone angry/uncomfortable.

2. THAT PART when she’s crying.... I started to cry too. 😭

3. Joe and Taylor’s relationship is so cute, I’m glad it’s private. I’m glad we got to see a small snippet into her personal life like that, and see how happy she is.

4. The “Taylor Swift is over party” was seriously terrible. I’m honestly still so upset that ever happened and that people in our society think it’s ok to do that to someone.

5. Taylor arguing with someone off camera and then BAM! We see it’s her father? Iconic. I’m so glad she posted her political views. I love momma swifts support.

6. The assault trial.... As someone whose been there.... they really do make you, as a victim, feel at fault. I’m sorry you went through it. I’ve been there- it’s awful.

7. ME! Suddenly means 100000X more to me now. Seeing how happy it made her/ why she wrote it. YES.

I have so many other thoughts, but I’ll have to watch it again... and again... and probably make more posts.

Bottom line- I love you Taylor! You have been and always will be an inspiration.

Afterglow made me immediately apologize to a guy I like, because I am afraid to lose him. I quoted some of the lyrics. Lol. I sincerely hope he realizes I am sorry 😫

afterglow is such a good song because that’s what an apology should be: simple and sincere. not to make yourself feel better, but to actually apologize to the person. you admit that you did something wrong, and you say sorry for hurting someone, not ‘sorry because you felt hurt.’ and you would do all that with no hesitation because you don’t want to lose them.
