That is a very interesting question. One that I myself do not have the most solid of answers to...

I'm not entirely sure why I decided to appear in front of Takumi that night out of all the members of the SDU, but... there was something about him in particular that almost called out to me.

Once I started speaking to him, I knew he was someone I could trust. Someone who's heart was filled with good intentions, even if his mind might sometimes be misguided. He is a good person and I am happy to call him my friend.

It’s interesting how Takumi is punished for taking the violent option first and foremost. Shion doesn’t want to let him live cost free if he takes to killing an infant at the end after everything he had already done. If Takumi decides against this, it’s a sign of redemption.

Honestly, this scene is the epitome of why I struggle to not empathise with Eito. Sirei views him in an ableist regard, despite him being behind Eito’s condition that made him begin to hate humanity. Ontop of the fact Eito hadn’t done anything wrong at this point yet.

Shion showing up at the end of the Fish Comedy route to be like, "You need to quip Takumi!" and leaving made the entire route worthwhile. I love these two idiots together.

It’s kind of cute how Shion’s pleas to Takumi to allow him to join the others is another part of why Takumi returned back to 0, to try again, and find a future that allows the ones he cares about to be happy.

Takumi and Shion’s dynamic across Route 0 is wholesome to me because whilst Takumi initially doesn’t understand him. He ends up finding comfort in his presence, even before understanding one another. He was a constant force in his life despite everything else being unstable.
