So i was looking past the really inaccurate british slang, the author was obviously not british thats fine, HOWEVER.... the character made a cup of tea by filling a mug with lukewarm tap water FROM THE TAP then putting a teabag just.. in it. Idk what the fuck sort of tea theyve ever drank but I genuinely recoiled, i have no words. Romance and fanfic tropes can really piss me off, the whole "everyone knows theyre dating except them" trope or just any trope where others assume or insist that the main two are dating or in love, or especially where one of them is waiting for the other to "realise" theyre dating already piss me off and make me stop reading like nothing else, i'm too autistic for that shit. I can't imagine ever being so rude as to assume someones relationship or insist its other than what they say, and I would NEVER give a prospective partner shit for "not realising we're basically together" if I had never once told them my feelings or asked them theirs or spoke at length on what we wanted out of a relationship, it's fucking gross?? Miscommunication can very easily be frustrating but this isnt miscommunication its just being a bad person for no reason?? "Oh the character was a fool they looked at them with lovesick looks the whole time" bro idk what a lovesick look looks like on someones face???? Not everyone knows what emotions look like OR shows them in an expected way on their own face
