“ i honestly don’t know why you agreed, but frankly i find it exceptionally rude that you insisted i come with you to this... mess. ” she’d tried a sip of the punch, darwinism hadn’t taken either of the greene siblings yet and they’d probably tried far worse cocktails, bridget had figured she was safe. it was decidedly one of the worst things she’d ever tried in her life, however. “ i mean i have coke, but you’re mistaken if you think i’m sharing it with you any time before you arrange for us to leave this godforsaken party. i heard it was being held by a scholarship holder so now we know why there’s nothing here for us. ”

“Well, this party’s exceptionally unremarkable. Remind me why I agreed to go again?” Vigo crossed his arms over his chest, a look of disgust evidently painted on his features. He has been in this party for roughly half an hour, and just about nothing sparked even a minuscule amount of amusement in him. “Music’s tacky, alcohol’s cheap, drugs are nowhere to be found, and nothing illegal’s happening. Jesus. Is this a children’s party or just what poor people do for fun?”

it wasn’t often that she met with alistair, they were friends mostly through hope, and then through their connections in the fashion industry, so, for the most part, she knew they would be classed as acquaintances. the titles hardly mattered though, she wasn’t here as his friend, she was here for advice, business advice. “ thank you for meeting me. i know you and your fiancée are likely in the midst of wedding planning. how have you been ? ”

hope luna.

               “ i don’t think i can do this, g. ” she’d been in bed all day, deciding that she wasn’t physically fit to take her classes today. “ i almost bumped into sabrina the other day. i didn’t even know my own cousin was here ! ” maybe that was the reason her grandparents chose oxford. “ w-what if i bump into him ? i don’t-i don’t think i could ever.. ” she trailed off, her heart aching at the thought. “ maybe,  maybe i could just convince my abuelos to allow me to transfer. ” @sybvrites

gaia climbed into bed alongside hope, she’d come over as soon as her last class ended knowing how her friend was feeling. “ of course you can do this. ” her words were spoken firmly, and with complete conviction. gaia had complete and absolute faith that she wouldn’t have been strong enough to fight through the health problems that her friend had, and hope was still here. she linked their hands together and squeezed tightly, “ i think you need to tell your friends and your cousin that you’re here. you can’t let them find out by seeing you leaving a class and feeling like they’ve lost their minds, it’s not fair to them. ”

ollivander greene.

             “ fair enough. ” a soft smile appeared on his face once he felt her warmth close to him. “ hm, you’re not throwing me out this time ? ” he leaned back, turning his head to place a kiss on her lips. it were these moments that he forgot he had a girlfriend he was going back to in the end of the day. “ if i didn’t know any better, i’d say i’m starting grow on you, huh ? ”

bridget shook her head, “ no, not today. ” she couldn’t name a reason why she wasn’t kicking him straight out her front door once he was done, but here she was, wrapping her arms around him, letting him press their lips together, letting herself forget he had a girlfriend. “ only because lia’s sick of me complaining about her lech of a brother. ”

henry parrish.

“As the internet would say, uh, ‘men are trash,’” he mused, momentarily raising his head from an assignment. “All of us are complete pigs, I apologize.” His brows furrowed for a bit before he cracked a smile. “Well, you could you know, go a, forward and direct, and straight up say you’re not interested; b, barrage him with a stream of lethal insults; or c, ignore him until he gets tired of bugging you.” Out of habit, the end of his pen drummed against his notebook on the table. “If that doesn’t work out, you could always go for d, pretending you’re dead,” a brief pause, “or at least, pretending you’re dating someone more, how do I say this, impassioned? Alluring?”

“ well, all men can’t be as wonderful as you, ” she knew that most reactions to her experience would be to say precisely what henry did, but perhaps her naïveté only made her feel bad for men who weren’t like her date. “ pretending i’m dead... ” gaia fought a smirk as she thought about someone she knew who’d done just that and now seemed to be paying the price for it. “ i’m certainly not dating someone more impassioned, nor alluring, but i could fake it. want to take a photo with me for my instagram ? i’m sure he’ll believe it with proof. ”

camille davis.

     “ that’s… gross. gaia, you need to give this man a piece of your mind. ” camille encouraged, brows furrowed out of frustration for her. having been on horrendous dates herself, she could relate to the feeling & felt gaia certainly didn’t need to be polite to him. “ you should text him, ‘ thanks, but no thanks. good luck ever finding someone if that’s the way you’re going to continue talking to women. next. ’ ” she didn’t think it was too harsh, but rather just enough to get her point across and prevent any further communication. 

“ i.. i suppose. ” she certainly wasn’t usually the type to actively speak out against people who have wronged her. she mostly needed camille’s help to make sure she wasn’t accidentally talked into a second date, but she was certainly planning on still maintaining a polite demeanour. “ i was thinking of saying, ‘ our dinner was very nice but i would rather not go out again. thank you for the experience, i wish you well in your future endeavours. ’ i just don’t think i could be callous even when he was awful company. ”

ophelia greene.

               « ah, don’t make that face, » the blonde all but  p o u t e d, practically tugging at the other’s sleeve. it was a friday evening, and much to her dismay, nothing exciting had happened yet. « we’re just gonna sneak up to the college roof to have a drink. what’s the worst that could happen ? come on —-  »  

“ lia, ” bridget whined. when she’d messaged the blonde saying she wanted to go out, sneaking up to the roof of one of the colleges to drink wine wasn’t what she had in mind. “ why can’t we go to a club ? i’ll buy some coke off of your brother and we’ll make a night of it. it’s cold up on the roof. ”

sabrina balfour.

            “ ugh, utterly revolting. some men really have an innate talent of repulsing women. ” her nose scrunched up as her anecdote ( a nightmare for a date ) came to an end. “ where’d you even meet this bloke ? rather, who introduced you to him ? darling, if you wanted an⏤at the very least⏤semi-decent date you should’ve come straight to me. ” she held out the palm of her hand, awaiting to receive her phone. “ that’s easy. hand it over, then. ”

“ he’s the cousin of an old friend. i cannot tell you how much i regretted saying yes as soon as he first opened his mouth, ” gaia could hardly believe how blunt she was being, it was never within her to be so callous, but this man... he inspired her. “ i wouldn’t oppose any options you may give me... i’ve hardly had any luck as of late. ” her papa always said she had so much love to give, the sentiment rang true now more than ever. she handed over the device without thinking, she knew her friend often walked the thin line between honesty and honeyed cruelty, but perhaps knowing who the text was meant to come from, it’d be better.

         “ didn’t i tell you i have a quiz in five hours ? ” he sat back down on her bed, notebook placed on his lap. “ i’m down to two hours after our little crash course on the human anatomy. which, by the way was tremendous help. ”

“ you might have mentioned it earlier but you didn’t say much about actually caring about it. ” she gravitated towards him as soon as he was back close to her, pressing her chest against his back and dropping a kiss on his neck. “ you’re welcome. i’m hungry, do you want to go and grab a bite and then i’ll quiz you on... whatever your test is on ? ”

katerina mendoza.

“oh uh… n-nevermind….” katerina all but squeaked out as she brushed some hair out of her face. “it was a stupid story anyway.” her cheeks warmed as she spoke.

lifting his head from his phone he watched the other woman as her cheeks flushed and she quickly forced out an answer. hugo could lie and say he wasn’t holding himself back from rolling his eyes at such behaviour, but he absolutely was. “ if you wish to carry on, please do. i’ll just carry on not caring. ”
