(Happy August \o/ Today is the official release day of Hakuouki - Chronicles of Wind and Blossom. Hopefully your copies arrive swiftly!)

The original thought behind his picture: does Hijikata's snack set from Otomate Garden have watermelon because it's triangular like onigiri?

Would Chizuru make that joke? I'd like to believe she would. Kind of wanted to create a picture similar to the fullbody yukata images Okita and Saitou got for Tsukikage and Ginsei, but didn't quite make it there.

Also inspired by Yuugiroku 2 (which you should definitely play if you understand some Japanese because it's amazing).

Towards new days

I drew this based on one of the HakuMyu photos that were posted on Twitter. I really love that photo, and I wanted to do something with it. The shot, and the lines spoken in that scene, reminded me a lot of the ending of the second film.

The title is a nod to the Happy End bgm track in the original game's soundtrack.

The release for Hakuouki - Chronicles of Wind and Blossom is set for August 1st !

After no precise information about the release of their announced newly translated Switch Port of Hakuouki Shinkai Fuukaden, East Asia Soft has announced today that the game will release on August 1st! 🌸🌸🌸

A new theatre (Theatre H) opened in Tokyo today, and to celebrate they invited a different range of 2.5D actors.

HakuMyu sent Kubota Hidetoshi (Hijikata), Higuchi Yuuta (Heisuke) and Sasaki Yoshide (Kazama). By the sound of it, they talked a little about the franchise Hakuouki, as well as HakuMyu (recent Hijikata hen), and did a little performance of Setsufuuka and the new opening for Hijikata hen after.

By lack of a Chizuru... the other Oni stepped up.

We also have an official title for the opening song of Hijikata hen: 春夏秋冬 (Shunkashuutou), meaning "Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter." The lyrics link the rise and fall of the Shinsengumi, and their dream, to the four seasons.

"I just want you to live"

I started drawing this for kiss day (23/05) on the day itself, so I'm a little late. I debated drawing a happy kiss, but I just really wanted to draw the sunset scenery from the movie.

Next time, I'll draw something that does not involve Hijikata drinking blood.

Shieikan training ⚔

Ever since they released the preview of the training song, I've wanted to draw the scene where Hijikata and Souji bump shoulders for a second. I couldn't see Hijikata's face very well in Kobe, but the smirk plastered on his face in the 19/04 Tokyo show was great.

His expression is different in the archive recording, so I kinda hope it's in the extras. That's one of the reasons it's always more fun to watch in the theatre, it's always different. I just wish Japan wasn't so far, or else I'd be a regular at the theatre.

Also, Shinkai Hijikata Toshizou hen was great and I really enjoyed it. Wish I could see it again in person.
