Cold Calling – A Lost Art?
The more and more we talk to salesmen, specifically stock brokers, the more I hear “cold calling doesn’t work… the do not call list and cell phones preclude it.” FALSE!
This has been good news for me, however. Every day more and more people are giving up on cold calling and are resorting to, what they think is, less labor intensive marketing tactics such as pay per click and networking (notworking hahah)... All this means to me is less people are getting cold called. Also, a lot of people are resorting to auto dialing with a machine and having people click 1 or some other random number to be connected to a representative.
Personally me, I love cold calling. If I dial for an hour, I pretty much guarantee myself an appointment. I am a stock broker and I call business owners on their business phone for their personal business. This circumvents the do not call list! After all, the DNC does not apply to businesses. I get my B2B leads from Synthetic Ideas for three reasons: 1. The price is marginal, 2. The leads are updated daily, and 3. Synthetic Ideas makes its fast and simple.
