The rule was officially being changed that afternoon. It was an old one anyway. A throwback from so long ago to greet a visiting dignitary with a firm handshake or, for the opposite sex, a kiss on either cheek for luck. Some little tradition that had come along from the first visitors and which had stuck. 

And of course it was her - the same poor soul from the beach the day before. A victim of a heavy wave and a flimsy bathing suit string. (Not to mention cold water.) Hope shook his head, willing that particular image away. He still cringed a little when he replayed the events in his mind, trying to cover his eyes with one hand while still offering her assistance, leaving him to stumble about with an arm outwards like some blind creature going for a grope. Not very Director-ly, to say the least.

“Welcome to Academia,” he forced himself to say, cheeks straining from a polite smile as he pressed a quick kiss to either side of her face, before guiding her towards the rest of the building. Okay - so maybe it won’t be too terrible...

“Through here we have our bikini-terior.”

... oh, damn it all.

38. What kind of weather does your character like? Cloudy skies, rainy days, sunshine, etc?

X: Accepting

It’s very, very rare he gets to really enjoy weather patterns anymore, but he knows that when things are clear and fine there’s less hiccups. Storms equal slowing down in dig sites, or airships having to postpone travel routes. Heavy snow means being cut off from certain areas. It’s all relative, but nothing that affects him personally.

02. What is one of your character’s biggest insecurities? Are they able to hide it easily or can others easily exploit this weakness?

X: Accepting

That would definitely be a feeling of powerlessness or helplessness. Throughout his trials as a L’Cie he had enough times when he almost pulled his hair out from anxiety or dread. By the time he’s grown, even when he’s climbed the ranks of the Academy he still feels more secure by keeping his boomerang close by. It can’t do terribly much than stagger someone, but it’s a comfort. Take it away and he’d probably narrow his eyes and try not to let his annoyance show.

13. What are your character’s sleeping habits? Heavy or light sleeper? Blanket stealer? One that always rolls onto the floor? Pushes their lover onto the floor? Sleep talker or walker?

X: Accepting

Generally by the time Hope crawls across his bed for the evening he’s asleep once his head hits the pillow, and a heavy one at that. It’s as much a needed rest as it is the only break he gets from his work duties. He might mumble on occasion in his sleep, but there’s never anyone there to hear or tell. (Unless it’s a verse that’s been built up the lad is consistently a workaholic virgin.)
