it's not wip wednesday, but i made major progress on the cyberpunk/smasher-esque ghost front. a little unedited snippet.

cw: violence, gore

There’s no hesitation. No mercy. Ghost steps into the man’s descent, both arms outstretched. One hand catches and clamps around the man’s throat, the other balls into a fist. He swings it even as the man’s blades spear blindly, stabbing at the exposed joints of his shoulders.

Once.

Twice.

The third blow lands with a sickening crack. The man’s cheek caves, mask and bone splitting in tandem. Gore spatters the alley wall. Teeth scatter like loose coins. Between the strikes, you catch an awful progression—his face folding in on itself, skin going slack and strange. His features ripple, as if the flesh no longer knows where to hold. Like land buckling just before it vanishes into a sinkhole.

You wince with every hit. Ghost doesn’t stop until the body in his grasp stops twitching. Not until it’s an unrecognizable, pulpy mess.

Syyy! I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the works you’ve put out here and on AO3. I still read your fics from time to time, but I’m absolutely hooked on The Warren! Like—omg, John! You’re a bad, bad man!

I know it’s wrong of me to like him like that, but the way you write him—so villainous and unhinged—how can I resist?? But at the same time, I just want to hug the reader and shield her from him because clearly, she needs peace and comfort and space.

Yup. I am conflicted. Which is exactly why your writing is… absolutely riveting!

Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and say how much I love your writing 💖. Please don’t ever stop—but if you need a rest, I hope you take all the time you need.

ahhh hello! thank you, this is so kind. i’m happy you’re digging the warren! i am taking a very short break from it at the moment to focus on two other projects, but it’s rolling around my head at all hours.

price in the warren is one of my favorites, and yes, reader deserves some peace. if/how she achieves that…we’ll see!

EXPAND ON SIMON AND THE MOUTHGUARD (pls)

@/bonnibelspot got it in one lmao. under the cut, since i've been told several times now how gross nasty those last couple of posts were.

ghost breaks into your locker at the gym. rifles through your bag, steals your jockstrap, and leaves that mess in your mouthguard. this only happens when you've done something to set him off—but as price's second in command and acting disciplinarian at the gym, that's pretty easy to do.

now. for a more severe infraction (either completely blown out of proportion or only existing in ghost's head), he shoves that guard into your mouth so you're tasting him the entire time you're training. 😔

I just wanted to say I love your writing (the pieces I've read at least) and I also love your aesthetic posts!!! I followed your aesthetic blog p much as soon as I saw your post about it bc I love how you manage to always put together colours and images that just...compliment each other so perfectly. we have very different aesthetics but the way you put your posts together I feel so inexplicably happy

hey, hello, thank you! collecting + organizing images scratches a part of my brain in a way that's complementary to writing, so my aesthetic blog and pinterest account see a lot of use on the daily. i'm actually atrocious at discerning shades of color, so it sometimes takes me ages to put even the simplest lil moodboards together. :') glad you like them!
