So to make a long lore short: Lian Mei and Destined One at one point in the story get very close (I'd say post chapter 4) to the point of being comfortable with sleeping next to eachother.

Lian at times is haunted by nightmares and all Destined One can do at the moment is embrace her as she drifts off to sleep. Little does she know that, despite being friends and very close companions, he secretly kisses her forehead.... Knowing that he, just like in his past, fell for her, and hard.

Game Science CEO Yocar made a post on weibo why they decided to announce a new game instead of DLC

Text in is in Chinese, a redditor used a mix of ChatGTP and DeepL to translate the post

The TL;DR is they started working on the DLC, were not feeling the passion and interest and meeting fans expectation, decided to work on a new game for now

It's unclear whether a DLC is completely shelved or not, although the official BM Zhong Kui website says the westward journey won't end here:

Looks like no DLC for now, but the closing comments did say, “the westward journey won’t end here either.” The new game’s main character, Zhong Kui, is not from the Journey to the West novels, so that line could still hint at DLC being in the works. BM Zhong Kui trademark was filed back in 2020 along with another black myth title iirc. But according to the website it's still in the very early development stage with no release date and they're still outlining the story

As for the DLC, at the art exhibition opening this year it was confirmed it's in development but they also don't know when it will be released. They are aiming for the same quality as the main game

It showed concept art of unused locations so wouldn't be surprised if all those assets will be reworked into the DLC 🐒

I'm still playing BMW, just started chapter 5. I decided to retouch my old drawing - I think it's one of the best art I've ever made LOL nothing is gonna top this. The design is based on the gameplay trailer that dropped back in 2020, when they let him walk around with his chest out. I think they nerfed it for the final release, I don't think the armor he started out with had that deep of a cleavage. Petition to let the Destined One walk with his chest out. It's what Wukong would have wanted.

aaaaah thank you for your kind message!!!! I too grew up with JTTW as part of my childhood and Black Myth Wukong left such a lasting impression on me, I am soaking up every lore details and analysis I can find of the game

AND YES I wish Game Science had a global distributor for releasing the journals in English world wide, so far they are only available in China (and in Chinese) as printed versions. I am sucker for collectibles so I had to make my own

I can't wait to see what Game Science will announce at gamescon this week, hopefully DLC soon!!

I couldn't find information on which studio is working on the figurines, but given that Game Science has been working with INART + Queen's Studio to bring the figures alive, wouldn't be surprised if they are also working on the 1/4 figures

also some photos were shown at cons in China where INART showed prototypes for Stone Monkey / Azure Dome figure (pending license approval?), so fingers crossed that we will get Stone Monkey figures soon too

Been thinking if i should post this not since its mostly just for fun. Id say this is the "happiest" they've been lol. Decided to have cheap life hua be related to Meilin just cause its funny and i love him.

So in scissor 7 au i thought I'd give wukong a mother, immediately thought of the mandrill chief from black myth. Im still trying to make the design work so if its not the best then excuse me 😆 She's supposed to be the long armed gibbon. GIBBON. But i drew a mandrill. 💔 Maybe ill do another sketch but using gibbons as reference this time...

Honestly. With the way im having alot of fun drawing this wukong, i might as well add another design for journey to the west lol. Would be nice to draw something outside of scissor 7 sometime today!! My designing skills are very bad though :p
