2025, Book 24: The Traitor Queen, Danielle L Jensen
We went all the way back to enemies after the events of The Bridge Kingdom. As Aren should have. His treatment still hurt my feeling hahah. This book was just as good as the first, if not better. I'm sad it's over.
"Forgive her. She loves you."
"She doesn't know what love is."
"That's why you should forgive her."

2025, Book 23: Claimed By Gods, Eva Chase
A fun little Reverse Harem with a Valkerie, Loki, Thor, Baldor, and Hod.
I love me anything Loki, especially if there is smut. 😏
It's a series that I'll finish later in the year.
"I’d like to tell you that I died in epic fashion, guns blazing in the middle of a vast street brawl, or at least something scandalously hot, like falling off a balcony during the most incredible sex of my life. The truth? My death was cringingly mundane."

2025, Book 22: The Bridge Kingdom, Danielle L. Jensen
I am already on book two (The Traiter Quee ), not even one minute after finishing book one. That is how good this series is. Laura, the FMC is a total bad ass. The plot, the world building, enemies to lovers *chefs kiss*. I would go to war for Aren. The longing and slow burn. This book is everything I love.

Books I have DNF for May. I had hope for Lightlark because of how popular it is.. but l could not get past the 4th chapter. The FMC for the Sun Queen just kept pissing me off.

2025, Book 21: Shield of Sparrows, Devney Perry
If I can convince you to read one book this year, let it be this one. Slow burn aside, it is the plot and monsters that make this book. Strong FMC, who is not afraid to ask questions... so many questions. More than one plot twist. I actually lost count.
This is my favorite book of 2025.
"Praise is for the bedroom, Cross. Not the training ring."

Halfway through Shield of Sparrows, and it may be my #1 read so far this year.

2025, Book 20: The Serpent and the Wings of Night, Carissa Broadbent
The slowest burn, but well worth the wait with all the plot twists at the end! I am so glad I gave it a chance. My emotions and shock were all over the place with the last 10 chapters. Even i felt betrayed. As always, I love me a baddie for an FMC. Cannot wait to start book two.

"A dead lover can never break your heart."

2025, Book 19: Under Your Scars, Ariel N. Anderson 🌶🌶🌶🌶😭😭😭
Spoilers:
This is NOT a HEA, and Ariel Anderson needs to pay for my therapy.
Holy shit I'm broken. I'll probably be in a reading slump after what I just went through.
I won't say much here, I want everyone to read this book and be gutted like I am. It started out with my favorite: masked stalker serial killer? Yes please 😏... but not even half way through the book... I was crying... and didn't stop crying. Even the damn Epilogue!

"I’ve fallen in love with the most unlovable, virulent, tragic parts of him. And I’ve decided I love the taste of poison."

2025, Book 18: The Games Gods Play, Abigail Owen
This was fun! I went with the audio book because work has been crazy and it kept my attention. It was like Hunger Games but with the Gods. I laughed, I cried, I devoured it in 2 days. I'm definitely picking up book two when it's released.
"The gods love to toy with us mere mortals. And every hundred years…we let them."

2025, Book 17: Two Twisted Crowns, Rachel Gillig
Even better than the first book. I absolutely loved Elm and Ione. The ending left me wanting a third book just so I could get more of them. I loved all the twists and reveals. I am going to miss the Shepherd King 🥺
"Here we are, my darling girl, he whispered to me. The end of all things. The last page of our story."

2025, Book 16: One Dark Window, Rachel Gillig
Gothic Romance/Fantasy 🤌
The Magic System 🤌
While there was not a lot of romance, the plot sucked me in. I would go to war for Ravyn and Elspeth.
The main villain reminded me of Jack fucking Barlow and filled me with rage.
I loved the nightmares commentary though the book. The ending was EVERYTHING and I am immediately starting book 2.

"He came for the girl... And got the monster instead."

2025, Book 15: The Ever King, LJ Andrews
I tried to like this. I really did. Unfortunately, the FMC was annoying the hell out of me the entire book. I pushed through, but I will not be picking up book 2.

2025, Book 14: Quicksilver, Callie Hart
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. The enemies to lovers. The banter. The bad ass FMC. Kingfisher is my new Xaden. There was not a main character in this book that I did not form an attachment to. It kept me guessing until Chapter 40. What I thought was going to happen went in a whole different direction. The ending was not a dramatic cliffhanger, thankfully. I'll be able to survive until book 2.
"Because she is moonlight. The mist that shrouds the mountains. The bite of electricity in the air before a storm. The smoke that rolls across a battlefield before the killing starts. You have no idea what she is. What she could be. You should call her Majesty."

2025, Book 13: Scythe & Sparrow, Brynne Weaver 🌶🌶🌶🌶
Like the previous books, the trigger warnings always leave me cracking up. Rose and Fionn are perfection. The smutt had me kicking my feet... though cotton candy might be ruined for me.
This one broke me out of my reading slump in the best ways.
"It wasn’t really by choice. But I’d take a raccoon to the face for you any day, Rose Evans."
