I have been busy with school work, teaching and service this semester, but I received wonderful news yesterday. I am extremely honored and humbled to be a recipient of the Design Incubation's Creative Works Award. This award is a testament to the support of my colleagues, friends, and family, who have encouraged and inspired me throughout my career. Special thank you to the stellar jury. They are all highly regarded in Visual Communication Design. Receiving an award means not only recognizing the work but also encouraging the recipient to continue striving for excellence and inspiring others to do the same. The Society of Typographic Arts (STA) honors the 100 best typographic artwork produced each year around the globe. I am extremely honored and humbled that 4 of my entries have been selected for this year's STA 100. Especially 3D printed type embosser is won a judges choice award and honorable mention and is also included as one of the top 4 best designs among approx 240 outstanding submissions. Thank you to the stellar judges, the competition chair, @vidasacic and STA @typographic_arts hosting this year’s event. I hope experimental and unconventional typographic work that involves new technologies and alternative design solutions will continue to be recognized. Artist-In-Residence!! I have always wanted to have this opportunity. I will build a ceramic 3D printer from scratch. The whole process will be documented and shared with people. The process includes: Assembling a ceramic 3D printer. Calibrating a delta-style printer. Making an extruder. 3D printing wet clay. and more. Thanks to @internetarchive for the opportunity. It was great visiting MCA Chicago before leaving the city after the exhibition last weekend. It has been years since I visited MCA and the exhibitions are great. Bubbly jelly B! First time making jelly, but it turned out great. It smells really good. I have not tasted it yet, though. Extension of Climate Continuum (2020) collaborative project with @organprinter and @brian.barr . I made some test plaster molds with 3D printed designs last summer. A visualization of the climate data became a ceramic piece 🔥 It is not as decent as @hammerlyceramics ‘s awesome mold casting. Thank you so very much for the warm welcoming and interest in my talk, Tangible Type – 3D printing for Graphic Design. People I met made my trip worth traveling to the other side of the globe and getting back in less than a week. Again, thank you @ithra .
