this may be my pettiest rory take but even putting all of his nasty misogyny aside, i truly do find it laughable that so many fans believe eleven loved amy and rory equally. eleven would light rory on fire to keep amy warm!!!!!!!!

#in eleven’s eyes rory’s function is to keep amy in check when he’s not there to do it #i mean eleven’s whole thing is that he’s selfish lol he’s ‘the one who forgets’#& it’s not til like…god complex that eleven takes responsibility (inadequately lol) for the fact that he’s destroying amy’s life #irrevocably! and he had an inkling this was the case even then #because if it wasn’t dire he would never have left her #and that’s where rory comes in. because if eleven can’t have her it’s rory’s job to keep her out of trouble #and it’s rory’s job to distract her from the things she really wants #it’s rory’s job to MAKE her want what she’s ‘supposed’ to want #so eleven can move on without guilt #BOTH of them use her. BOTH of them routinely swap ownership of her as if she’s an object #but absolutely emphatically rory only matters to the doctor in relation to amy #this has always been the case
