request -> “something frenemies to lovers with k with one of my favourite clichés "mom and dad are fighting". I can definitely see one of the younger ones saying this rendering both reader and k speechless hehe” for anon <3

you and k were frenemies. there was no doubt in that.

well, you weren’t exactly enemies, you could have a conversation with him without arguing a couple of times, but most of the time you two would have a disagreement on the most random things you could possibly argue about.

“k do you even know the amount of salt your suppose to put in that?”

“yeah i do, because unlike you i know how to cook.”

“you fucki-“ “do they always argue like this?” yuma asked nicholas, who was on his phone. “yeah, it never ends when it comes to them so you’ll have to get used to it.” nicholas responded.

since then, nobody really questioned whatever you had going on with k. though, everybody thought you two would be a cute old married couple couple, especially the younger members.

you had gone out with k & the younger members to eat, you loved hanging out with them, the only thing that was stopping you from having fun was k’s dumb remarks that he totally didn’t make up on the spot.

“ahh im so full! i can’t eat anymore.” maki dramatically said as taki dropped his chopsticks on his plate. “can i take a box of this home with us? it’s too good!” taki said. k nodded.

“im gonna go to the bathroom really quick!” harua said as he got up and walked to the bathroom. you guys spoke before the waiter came towards your table, “are you guys ready to pay?” the waiter asked as you and k nodded, pulling out your wallets.

“why did you take your wallet out?” “because i’m gonna pay? what else would i take my wallet out for?” “im paying.” “no your not.” “yes i am.” “just let me pay.” “yn shut up i’m paying.” “no your not.”

taki and maki looked at each other and the waiter as the table was filled with bickering between you and k. taki grabbed his wallet and took out his card, silently giving it to the waiter, who looked scared out of his mind.

“just go.” taki mouthed to the waiter as he walked away, harua came back from the bathroom, confused on why you and k were arguing.. again..

you and k finally stopped bickering, looking at taki and maki, who had the most disappointed looks plastered on their faces. harua didn’t know what was going on, so he just sat there confused. “where did the waiter go?”

“here you guys go! have a fantastic day?” the waiter quickly said, giving taki his card back and walking away. you and k were shocked to say the least. “taki did you—“ “yes i did! because two very grown adults wouldn’t stop arguing over who’s paying!” taki sarcastically said as maki stifled a laugh.

“oh.” you said, slowly putting your card back in your wallet. k scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment. “at this point you guys are my parents.” maki jokingly said as harua agreed, “not even- they are like a old married couple.” harua said as maki and taki laughed.

your face had been hot as k put his head down in embarrassment. how could you and k, two grown adults start acting like children and then get humbled by taki?

eventually you all had left that restaurant (that you will probably never return back to) as the younger ones returned to their respective rooms, you were about to leave before k stopped you. “yn.” “yeah?” “you talk too much.” you rolled your eyes at that comment.

“shut up k.” “im just messing with you yn, you do understand that.. i never hated you, right?” k asked you, his hands in his windbreaker’s pockets. “i mean yeah.. i never hated you either k, you just started taunting me so i did it back to you.” you responded.

“i guess that’s my fault, to be honest i don’t want to be like this forever, i genuinely want to get to be close with you without arguing all the time.” k admitted. you looked at him, trying to see if he was lying, but there was no lying coming from his aura, he genuinely meant what he said.

“same.” you two were in complete silence for a couple of seconds before k spoke up. “how about this- i’ll take you out and we can start growing together, you know?” you choked on your saliva.

“like a date?“ “if you wanna call it that, then yeah, like a date.”

who would’ve known you’d start going out with the same guy you’d argue with about everything.

“Five, six, seven, eight, left, hop, turn around, no! Y/n you’re doing it wrong,” the dance instructor scolded. 

“Sorry Mrs. Yang,” Y/n bowed her head. She glanced around to see that all the other trainees were watching her intently, causing her to flush unintentionally. 

Mrs. Yang sighed deeply. “If you want to debut, you’ll work on the choreography twelve hours a day! Do you hear me?” She crossed her arms.

”Yes, Mrs. Yang. I was busy, I-“

”Your excuses mean nothing to me,” she scoffed. “You either debut with Hybe or you don’t debut at all. I doubt any other entertainment company would train you. You’re not even worth the time.” 

“I’m sorry,” she closed her eyes tightly and bowed her head. She couldn’t even bring herself to look up. “I promise to work harder.”

”You best do so,” she sighed angrily. 

Just then, the clock chimed. It was break time.

”I suppose I’ll see you all tomorrow for your monthly evaluation along with Mr. Won. You’re dismissed,” she said, gesturing them all to leave. 

All of the girls picked up their duffel bags and exited. But Y/n was stopped.

”Y/n,” Mrs. Yang called.

Y/n squeezed her eyes shut before turning around. “Yes?” 

“Start eating less. Your gaining weight, I can see it in your face,” she frowned. “Minyeon and Jinri never had trouble with their diets.”

Oh how Y/n hated being compared to the other girls. Especially regarding weight.

”Yes Mrs. Yang,” she whispered, tears stinging her eyes.

K smiled to himself when break time came. As a part of the pre-debut group &TEAM, he had a lot on his plate. Breaks were lovely. But he also did a little happy dance on the inside at the thought of seeing his crush, Y/n. The two had known each other for two years, ever since Y/n was street casted. They weren't exactly friends though. Heck, they never really did anything but acknowledge each other's existence. But he saw her around enough to develop feelings for her. She was the brightest, kindest, cutest person he knew. How was he to admit it? Maybe soon. But not just yet.

 "Y/n!" EJ waved Y/n over to sit with his members. 

She shyly brought her lunch over, which consisted of spicy ramen, and sat between EJ and Yuma, the only two she really knew in the group.

 "I should introduce you all. Guys, this is L/n Y/n," Yuma announced, and they all greeted her warmly. "Y/n, this is Fuma, Harua, Jo, Taki, Maki, Yihsiang, and K," he explained.

 "Hi," she waved. 

 "Nice to meet you Y/n. I hope we can be friends," Taki smiled.

The rest of the members said kind things to Y/n, yet K remained silent. In truth, he wanted to officially meet her on his own, not with Yuma's help. It would be a terrible first impression on his crush, at least in his mind.

The clock chimed yet again, signaling it was vocal and rap practice time.

 "See you later," Maki waved at her as he and the guys left to their respective rooms.

Y/n collapsed on her bed in her apartment room and sighed. Her back ached terribly as she stretched. It had been a long day. Sitting up, she glanced at the mirror on the wall. She played with the strands of her messy hair and squished her cheeks, seeing how chubby they really were. And they weren't, at all. It was simply Mrs. Yang scolding Y/n every chance she got. And while Y/n didn't understand her reasons, she had grown used to it by now. Used to being humiliated in front of her trainees. And while known of these rude comments and scoldings were true, they got to her head. "What am I doing wrong," she whispered to herself before breaking down in tears.

It was another night of listening to depressing music as tears streamed down her cheeks.

~~The Next Day~~

 "Bro just tell her! I'm sick of seeing you give her puppy eyes 24/7 and not saying anything!" EJ frowned. "And I'd bet she likes you back. I mean who wouldn't? Look at you," he teased.

 "I'm not completely sure. I really want to tell her. I just don't know how," K admitted.

 "It's not like you're getting down on one knee with a diamond ring for heaven's sake! Just find a time when you're both alone with an hour or more to spare," EJ suggested.

 "Okay. Thanks EJ," K fist bumped him before going up to his room. 

 He immediately began surfing the internet using key words: confessing to my crush. And after an hour, he had a long list.

"Okay. Be expressive, be confident, compliment her, and don't bore her. Get straight to the point," he spoke just above a whisper as he kept reading the short list over and over.

It all seemed like a good idea until the time actually came. He stood at the door to Y/n's practice room, unable to open the door.

"Just do it!" EJ shouted from around the corner.

 "I'll kill you if you mess this up for me!" K seethed.

With a newfound confidence, he knocked on the door. But when it opened, a crying Y/n brushed past him and went down the hall. He stood there, confused, dropping his list on accident as well. He decided to follow her for about a minute. And just when he was about to give up, he heard sniffling in his own vocal practice room. He opened the door and saw her, curled up into a ball, leaning against the same wall K had always used for physical support on the bad days. He quietly closed the door behind him and knelt beside her. 

"Hey, you okay?" He asked softly.

 "I'll never be good enough K," she suddenly spoke. "I don't even deserve to be here."

 His gaze softened. "What? Of course you do! You're so talented Y/n."

 "Mrs. Yang she... she," she choked on her own words.

"She what Y/n?" K became curious. 

 "She told me to leave the company, and that I'm not good enough to follow my dreams," she explained.

K could tell she was hiding something still. "What else? Just tell me the truth Y/n, it won't hurt you."

 "She got angry with me so she... hit me. She pushed me to the ground and my wrist is most likely fractured," she cried. 

"What?!" He exclaimed, quickly getting up and running to the other side of the room. He opened a cabinet and brought out a shoulder sling. "Here," he helped her put it on, clasping it behind her back. "Try not to move too much, okay? I need to speak to Mr. Kim."

She nodded in response as he quickly exited the room.

 "Mr. Kim?" K knocked on his studio door.

 "Yes K?" He looked up from his desk with a smile.

 "Mrs. Yang needs to be fired. She pushed one of your trainees, Y/n to the ground and told her to leave the company," he explained, breathing heavily. "She's no good for the company."

 "I'm sorry that has happened. I'll deal with it as soon as I can. Thank you for telling me K," he smiled again before going back to his work.

~~The Next Day~~

Y/n loved having Mrs. Yang gone. She felt much more free. And her replacement, Mrs. Kwon, was an angel. Strict enough to be a good dance instructor, but as sweet and understanding as they come. But she had someone to thank for it.

"K?" Y/n knocked on his apartment door. It soon opened and she smiled at the occupant. "Hey."

 "Hey umm, would you like to come in?" He gestured to his couch area, and she accepted with a nod and a simple "thank you". 

They both took seats next to each other before she spoke. "I just wanted to thank you for yesterday. You have no idea how grateful I am that she's gone now."

"You're welcome. Nobody deserves to be treated the way you were."

"Yeah," she smiled, before falling into silence. It looked like she still had something she wanted to say, and K read her mind.

 "You're probably wondering why I showed up at your practice room yesterday, so I might as well get straight to the point," he took a deep breath. "I think you're cute and I uh... I've had a crush on you for like a year now. I was wondering if you wanted to go out?"

 "Wow, I was going to ask you first," Y/n laughed.

"You were?"

 "Yeah, I guess you were oblivious to my obvious stares in the past year."

 "I guess I was," he chuckled.

Had K not had the bravery to confess, he wouldn't have been where he was right now. Sitting on top of his car, watching the sunset, with his girlfriend's head on his shoulder. "To think, today would've been our second anniversary if I said something right when I knew I liked you," K sighed.

 "At least we have each other now. Better late than never I say," Y/n picked her head up off his shoulder to see his eyes. "And I for one, wouldn't have it any other way."

 "Make it two," he smiled, before planting a short and sweet kiss on her lips.

He sat on the floor, knees against his stomach, sad teary eyes looking at the window.  His mind was blank but soon the memories of you came back. He try not to cry about you but it was hard for him. You were his first real love but when he caught with that other person...it broke his heart. He covered his face with both of his hands and met all the tears out again. He hit the back of his head against the wall behind him out of anger. " how could you do this to me!" He cried out loud.

He sat on the couch with a blank face. It seems that tears no longer are able to come out of his pretty eyes. He drank the small glass of alcohol he had in hand. " liar....." he whispered as he clutched his fist tightly. " I don't ever want to see you again..." he clenched his teeth tightly together as he try to control himself from not crying.

The stuff that were on his table weren't no longer there as they all were hit against the floor by a quick and hard swing of his arm. He grip onto his hair and walk back and forth around his room. He is still in shock after everything he seen in your apartment. " what a fucking liar! She said she loved me and that I was the only one!" He stopped walking and stand there with wide red eyes as his hands were shaking. " How could she do this to me..." he sat on the bed and just stay there as he replay the memories of what he saw in your apartment.

He walk inside his home in such a slow space as if his soul came out of his body. He look tired and sad. He sat on the couch and crouch down a little as he look down the floor. Soon tears run down his cheeks and small sniffs could be heard coming from his nose. He rubbed his hands together slowly trying not to cry hard. He didn't say anything he just cried quietly and his mind was filling with thoughts of you.

He deleted everything and anything that has to do with you. He deleted your phone number, your photos, unfollow and blocked you in every social media. He was angry. Very angry. His big eyes were red because of how much he cried earlier now he feels sad and mad and just wants to erase you from his life and his mind. " not letting you fool me again..." he whispered quietly as he threw the teddy bear you gave him out of his window with so much hate.

You were his first love. And he loved you even more because of that reason. You made him feel so special but after discovering what you did, the band of his eyes fell off to see your true self and he hates it. He wishes he never met you. He was playing basketball by himself and although he was moving around his mind was filled with memories of you. He kept missing each shot. He got tired and sat on the ground. He stay quietly as he watch the sunny sky turned gray. That reminded him of how he used to see you and how he sees you now. His tears run down his face and he quickly wipe the off. " forget her Jo," he told himself playing with ball again.

He stay in class during lunch time. His head was buried inside his arms for a while. The teacher saw him and walk towards him. " Harua? Are you alright? Why are you crying?" She asked. Harua sat up and look up at her with teary eyes. His nose was stuffed. " it's nothing....I just don't feel good..." he look down at his desk and saw a message from you on his phone "I'm sorry" it said. The teacher notice that and she immediately thought you did something that made him sad. " Harua, whatever it is that made you sad, it's going to go away if you chose to forget it and soon...you'll be okay" She smiled and walk out of class. Harua nodded and grinned to himself. He answered you back. " don't talk to me again, you and I are done".

He couldn't concentrate on his homework because he only kept thinking about you. " but why did she did that tho?" He kept asking himself as he furrowed his eyebrows down together hitting his pencil against the book. He stand up and look out the widow and saw your house from far away. " your sick YN.....I honestly do not want to hear from you anymore..." he clenched his fists tightly and try to hold up his tears. He hit his head with both of his hands. " now focus!" He told himself.

He laid on his bed letting all his tears out. His entire face was red and puffy. He felt so upset and hurt by you that he did not know how to deal with it. " I loved you.....why did you do this to me..." he slightly punch his pillow. He felt so heart broken. He immediately grab his phone and deleted your pictures, block your phone number and block you on social media.  " Not letting you get close to me ever." He said.

you close the door of k's house with a bang. you flinch at the loud sound it makes. k looks back as well, a little confused.

"are you alright?" he asks, stopping in the hallway.

you weren't quite alright, homework, hobbies and the pressure of doing well in school were weighing heavily on you.

k didn't know a lot about this pressure you felt, but he knew there was something up. he figured if you wanted to talk about it you eventually would.

"i am so exhausted," you mumble, "sorry for slamming the door."

"let's go inside and sit down, you look like you're about to fall apart any moment now." he half-jokes. he pulls the door open and waits for you to enter the living room before closing the door behind you.

"sit down," he tells you, "i will make some tea."

you plop down on the couch, your head resting on a pillow. k likes having you over to hang out and rest. k knew it was the only way for you to get a break from everything.

"everything okay?" he shouts from the kitchen, checking up on you.

"if you don't hug me right now i might fall apart," you reply with a chuckle.

"i'll make the tea as fast as i can!" you laugh at his remark and sink into the couch. all your worries seem to fade away when you enter this house.

"tea is done! i'm here to hug you so you don't fall apart," he says. two mugs of tea are in his hands as he quickly jogs over to you.

with a clink he sets the mugs on the table and he immediately sits down next to you.

you hold up your arms, waiting for his hug. k's arms wrap around your waist and you wrap your hands around his. the embrace warms you up and you feel light, like all the pressure has been lifted up by k.

"better?"

"better."
