I can't lately, sorry! I don't post any Xenk art anymore tbh; I realized the low interaction I got started to make me heavily dislike my drawings, or wondering what was wrong with them (the answer being: notes shouldn't matter.)

I do have a months-old draft for a bard xenk though! Got all the classes but artificer, in varying states of complete.

How I feel about this character:

Current blorbo!!!! In the salad spinner 24/7. Blending with too many thoughts. I love him

All the people I ship romantically with this character:

Because I'm an absolute fool: primarily Ilmater. Then because I'm the most foolish of fools: Kaz Brekker (this one is pure crack). And then: Edgin Darvis. The only character who actually shares a movie with him comes third; that's the current state of affairs. Everything is fine (no)

My non-romantic OTP for this character:

Xenk & Zia. I want him to help her with protective hairstyles. I want her to sleep against his back during a long ride. It doesn't matter if Edgin and Xenk aren't together, but I'd love if Edgin kind of looks at them and feels at peace.

My unpopular opinion about this character:

No idea what popular opinions are, but I suspect I'm at opposite ends with fandom takes concerning xedgin and how Xenk fits into that dynamic, especially considering how fandom generally handles BIPOCs with White characters.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

Although I tend to prefer Paladins who follow no deities, I'd love it if Xenk had been introduced as a paladin of Ilmater or the Triad.

a headcanon fact:

Actually I have three that spark a lot of joy:

1: The xenk+ilmater stuff i posted depicts Ilmater in his most commonly accepted form, with pale white hands and grayish nails, but for most of my unposted Xenk/Ilmater art I have Oscar Isaac as my faceclaim/reference for Ilmater;

2: Dancing was a major pillar of the Thayan subculture Xenk grew up in! He's often worried of spooking strangers who know he's Thayan by moving too abruptly. However: plate armor is as bad for stealth as it is for dancing;

3: After the death of his parents his main parental figure was a Dragonborn who taught him to love the world even when the world doesn't love you back. I kind of like to imagine it's also why he lingers with the Dragonborn in the movie (besides genuine kindness); this person and his guardian are different, with nothing in common but their species, but he misses them a lot and acknowledges his grief for a moment.
