discord isn't letting me dm you so I'm screaming here you can delete this if you want, it just wouldn't leave my brain if I don't tell you!!
one of k'in's colours is gold. it shows that they are very valuable and worthy. or something, it has meaning but it doesn't mean much here.
so anyway, gold is a easily manipulated. Once it's pure it is easy to bend—to make what you want. So if we go down the route of Astra making K'in so obsessively in love with him; he dresses them in gold. Showcases their value to him but it also speaks about how easily they fell into his hands.
Tumblr media
“Gold is a beautiful material. Noble in its composition and atoms, but sensitive to fire, bendable, manipulable. A material of value only for the one who can perceive it. Covet but not easy to work with either. Rare but common. Still precious.”
He extended his fingers, gently stroking their chin.
“Just like you, kitten.”

K'in, 1, 5, 21, 25, for that character ask game?
1. Why do you like or dislike this character?
K'in isn't my favorite but I still love him. I love the Jerk with a heart of gold trope and he fits it to a T. Yes, he's an asshole, arrogant and generally unsympathetic but he's also a scared teenager despite his abrasive attitude who did not sign up for this shit and just wants to go home, except there's no home to return to. And he does care about his friends, he's a pretty forgiving all things considered, and one of the most self-sacrificing people in the show. And honestly a big part of why I like his character is his relationship with Yun. They're a package deal, can't talk about one without mentioning the other. I already loved them before but after Sofia's recent tweets about season 2 I'm ill about them.
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
I don't know any songs 😔
21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character?
Not a fic writer
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
"Man this guy's an asshole, but at least he's funny"
I loved the twins the moment they were introduced because they felt like such a breath of fresh air with their antics. K'in ended up not being as much of a comedy relief as I thought, being the one who caused drama most of the time (and tbh there's not much comedy in the show in the first place). And also more anxious and codependent than I expected.
