something very interesting i noticed about the newest side order trailer......

Okay so, I've made a personal vow to not drown my blog in Splatoon stuff, despite how much I've been tempted to, but I do have one thing I noticed about the side order trailer which I found quite, quite, interesting

In the trailer's upgrade menu, we see an upgrade labeled 'Run Speed Up', and it's description describes increasing movement in Inkling or Octoling form. ..................... inkling form????????????????

okay so. the trailer seems to set up the idea that its eight and pearl, and the usage of the name 'agent 8' means the events of octo expansion must've happened before this... being labeled subject 10008 by tartar and yadda yadda, i dont think people have brought up the idea that its a prequel or whatever, if so i haven't seen it, but this probably means the events of OE are gonna be atleast touched upon. so theres atleast the fact that pearl knows eight, and if you could choose to be an inkling that'd probably mess up atleast the start of the expansion. maybe im desperate for some sort of agent 4 play ability in this, who knows, but either way. food for thought. there is also the fact that the text appears to be taken directly from the text for the run speed up ability ingame, but ive gone back and forth on this as i feel like. why not just take the part about inklings out?? food for thought and a side order of fries with that

recently, ever since I watched the dogman movie (and as such became lowkey hyperfixated on it) and really got a look into petey and dogman's character and, well... started crushing on the two of them, I've just had this urge to scream at the top of my lungs how much I love them

like damn I already relate to their struggles and shit, but like... they're bringing me a lot of comfort rn, especially with this existential crisis I'm experiencing rn ahaha

uh anyway uh I love dogman and petey so much!!! sorry for being a loser but I'm a goofy lovestruck loser for them!

god I wish I could just gush about them to mutuals/people but alas... major anxiety and being worried that people don't wanna hear my stupid rambling anyway so oops

I saw some posts of them saying like “if you ship Yelena with x or y yo owe me $50 dollars” or whatever and “I’m gonna straight up murder people if they keep shipping Yelena Belova she’s ACE” and my absolute favorite was a tag that looked a bit like “#🤺🤺 stay away allos away! 🤺🤺” like…

Are they really that out of touch with how the real world works that they’ve resorted to “protecting” this one fictional character from the “evil allos” as a form of activism or something? Go outside, touch some grass.

Them: "The 'allos' (derogatory) are [insert made up -phobic word here] for *checks notes* not agreeing with me on my opinion of a fictional character."

Also them, on any given Tuesday, cuz the wind blew too hard: "THE GAYS THINK WITH THEIR GENITALS", "THE GAYS ARE EVIL AND ABUSIVE", "I DONT WANT THE GAYS NEAR ME!", "THE GAYS ONLY THINK ABOUT SEX AND ITS DISGUSTING", "IM GOING TO MURDER THE GAYS HAHA LOL" (as if that doesn't have horrible real-life connotations, as if that doesn't actually happen to us every day)

Like...the irony of them throwing around "-phobics" when they say not-so-thinly-veiled horrendously homophobic and lesbophobic shit the vast majority of the time is................interesting to me. Truly. But for real, let's just leave it. If they want to give themselves ulcers over this then they can do it by themselves. We've been having a ball here thus far. We can and are going to keep doing that. They're certainly not going to stop me or change anything that I've been doing. I hope they don't affect anyone else.
