eight HAS to be famous in universe like. off the hook are so famous they're doing a world tour. marina's dev diaries are written like blog posts, and they're attached to her username - "DJ_Hyperfresh" - so it looks like they're definitely public??? and marina talks about eight on there SO MUCH. there's even AT LEAST one picture of them (last diary dev entry), even if it doesn't show their face. like. if nothing else there have got to be HORDES of off the hook fans out there desperate to know who this "eight" is and how they somehow became off the hook's closest friend

Agent 8 hero gear concept (and some lazy notes below the cut)

8 didn't want to join the squidbeak splatoon but felt like they owed agent 3 for saving their life, so they mostly "work" there because of a moral obligation and as an excuse to hangout with 4

The color of her tentacle tips is the ink type she actually fires, their roots are always pink for unknown reasons (☝️🤓 erm but this doesnt make sense considering side order- shut up thats a simulation so it doesnt matter)

San’s never used anything other than their hero shot. They’re unstoppable with it, but it’s made them a bit co dependent of the weapon- specifically their hero shot, which they won’t replace despite it being VERY old
