Forever obsessed with Tim Schafer calling Oleander a "really-strange-looking creature" when presented with this memory vault slide. I mean he's absolutely right
Tumblr media
Look at this guy. He's ABSOLUTELY creaturelike

Pleaseeee tell us more about your TC lore :3c it's been a delight to see old mc art in this day and age and the middleschooler in me is having a blast
cracks my knuckles . chat ur in for a long one and this is just basics
TC lore okay basics . world works like if minecraft and real life were combined . game things yknow . think mcsm .
World is split up into three sections, the main lands (occupied by players), the oceans (occupied by various aquatic races), and the farlands (occupied by elves), as seen here,
Tumblr media
Elves are quite uncommon in the main lands ! Most fled to the farlands when notch ascended to godhood or whatnot
TC's story mainly takes place in the main lands !
got that cool okay now for actual tc things
TC is a sort of special group sent on various missions to keep the main lands safe. Sometimes they are in battles and sometimes theyre just off to go meet some king or smth
For a majority of the story, several aquatic nations are at war with many land kingdoms. The war started right after a major virus outbreak (zombie infection if you will, taken from Endstone and the older Truemu stories)
Okay time for the actual team in . Almost oldest to youngest order (Except for ssun and husky)
Ssun is the 'leader' of tc, being the second eldest and the one with the most combat knowledge. He's pretty against anyone else going on combat missions, this guy is a boydad . Unfortunately his eyes are sensitive to light, so hes rockin shades all the time to help
Tumblr media
Husky is the healer, being the eldest he prefers to be out of direct combat. They're the glue that keeps the team from falling apart, being the one that has the braincell .
Tumblr media
Mitch is the best up front fighter for the team! He's literally coded to be a fighter, and good lord does he get even better once he gets his fancy sword (as seen in the Warzone music video). He is the one token straight, and is very brutal with his words
Tumblr media
Jerome is the second best fighter ! He is a heavy hitter, switching between an axe and a mace for fights ! hes the family dog and weighted blanket /j
Tumblr media
Sky is the second team 'leader', despite his lack of braincells, hes pretty good at quick thinking! They keep the morale up and often is the "face man" ! this guy just fucking rocks shades for no reason . adhd central pt 1 over here
Tumblr media
Ty is. well . hes there. Hes there to look good and to chew gum and hes all out of gum /j (Ty and sky are a package deal)
Tumblr media
Jason ! He's the mechanic (and the dj)! Fuckin guy made his own spacesuit and weapons ! Everyone else out here using swords and bows this guy is using literal guns ! His suit doubles as mobility aids (Specifically his lower half, his boots / leg pads have support and compression sleeves built in :]) adhd central pt 2
Tumblr media
Seto ! this guy is the youngest of the team, often put outside of combat both because hes not built for it and Ssun will not let a kid fight. He uses his magic to help defend and distract the enemy! this fuckin guy is autistic as hell, but thats okay his spinterest in magic and elven history helps alot
Tumblr media
okay time for out of context fun facts that i may expand on more later someone remind me to do that
there are two types of players, born and spawned (Age is based on body age, not how long one has been conscious), all mobs and elves are born, but not all players are spawned (or human)
Jason, sky, ty and seto are all under the trans umbrella ! Trans rights and wrongs
Jason was trapped in space for 4 going on 5 years . its where he taught himself how to build suits (Even with many failure)
Ty is somehow the most mentally stable team member
no one here is fully human. the one closest to being fully human is like . Jason i think
They r one big happy family chat trust me

Reading This Week
I am back home and reading like my life depends on it! I'm going to start working through articles I have saved to my computer bookmarks and such
Abandoned:
Pregnant Butch by A.K. Summers i tried! i've been meaning to try reading this for ages! but i got turned off by goodreads reviews saying theres a transphobic screed in the middle, and then just not clicking with the storytelling style.... oh well...
Finished:
The Secret to Superhuman Strength by Alison Bechdel (colored by Holly Rae Taylor) I kinda stayed up later than I technically meant to finish reading this. Bechdel really is a fantastic memoirist
Started & Finished:
As Yet Unsent by Tamsyn Muir tbh, kinda wish i'd read this before Nona so that I would have a tad more context for like the connections between the other House characters. but this was pretty great as a quick read, and really enlightening for the inner life of a character that I never really cared about before
"I wrote a story for a friend" by Julian Gough this is the personal essay by the guy that wrote the Minecraft End Poem about the trouble surrounding its creation and copyright. I find it kinda funny when he's like "the capitalism game makes me sad bc it gets in the way of the art game and the friendship game.... but there's nothing inherently wrong with the capitalism game!" he's got the spirit but ain't quite there yet yknow? anywho. one day I will actually beat Minecraft and read the story in its proper context!
What Did You Eat Yesterday? Vol. 1-5 by Fumi Yoshinaga, translated by Maya Rosewood (1-3) and Yoshito Hinton (4-5) now I did not intend for reading this manga to be a christmas season read, but somewhere in the beginning of vol 2 or 3 it was just christmas season within the manga itself!! anyway this is a pretty chill slice of life manga, half cooking/recipes, half daily life for a middle aged gay couple in 2000s Tokyo, and it's been a fun easy read
Nectar edited by Tab Kimpton & Harry-Anne Bentley most thoughts remain in my private journal for this one, but I can say that kinda like the last one only like 2 or 3 of the stories within actually like. worked for me on an artistic style level. still delighted that this exists
Ouran High School Host Club, Vol. 2-3 by Bisco Hatori, translated by Kenichiro Yagi while i'm enjoying the nostalgia of reading the manga version of a childhood anime, i find the panels of this really difficult to read? also this is the last volume available through my library so i probably won't read more for a while
Decolonizing Queer Games and Play from First Person Scholar, edited by Khee Hoon Chan:
Editorial by Khee Hoon Chan A Boy is a Gun: Weaponizing Black Gender in Video Games by Oluwatayo Adewole Unmaking and Undoing: A Trans* Reading of Katamari Damacy by Julie Fukunaga Interviw with Caro Asercion by Olivia Popp
working my way through articles that i've saved to my bookmarks bar! i absolutely want to check out more stuff like this
Masters in this Hall by K.J. Charles now THIS is a deliberate Christmas read for me, as it's the surprise un-advertised Christmas novella from one of my favorite romance authors! it was fun and funnily enough, most of took place in the days following Christmas. it was fun to see Jerry again (this time as a side character), and kinda made me want to go reread Any Old Diamonds since it's been a couple years now
Started:
Secrets Typed in Blood by Stephen Spotswood YES YES YES i am only a few chapters in at time of writing, but i am so happy to be back with my delightful butch private detective duo. i've been waiting for this inpatiently ever since i finished the second book in the series and i'm so glad to be back to get my historical mystery fix
Hen Fever by Olivia Waite
this is another surprise christmas novella from a favorite histrom author and the cover is absolutely Delightful. i'm gonna try and savor it but i make no promises

ok here we go. here is my list of top 20 taylor swift songs
20. our song (self-titled) - honestly what a classic i heard this song when i was nine years old and it became a part of my dna
19. the lakes (folklore) - i want to watch the wisteria grow over my bare feet cause i haven’t moved in years................
18. marjorie (evermore) - made me cry the first time i heard it and i love the refrain of “what die didn’t stay dead” as being both horribly sad and hugely uplifting
17. lover (lover) - one of my favorite videos on the internet is country singer keith urban doing an impromptu cover of this at a state fair because he loved it so much and that kind of speaks to what i think is so amazing about this song? it’s just like. it’s about loving someone and wanting a life with them forever. love that
16. last kiss (speak now) - so iiiiii watch your life in pictures like i used to watch you sleep and iiiiiii feel you forget me like i used to feel you breathe... like legitimately this is ranked so high just because i love the bridge
15. long live (speak now) - makes me want to fight a dragon or go to a walmart at 1am, either way wearing a giant flannel and surrounded by friends. that’s the mood
14. gold rush (evermore) - i just love the production on the song. it’s so glittery and strange and good. i love it so much that i will forgive the frankly very bad line “your hair falling into place like dominos”
13. cornelia street (lover) - falls into one of my favorite genres of love song, which is “everything is so precarious but that doesn’t mean it’s not good right now” and i think so often about “hope i never lose you hope it never ends”
12. the 1 (folklore) - but we were something don’t you think so... just like a really good song and ALSO the best possible opening track for this album? i’m not considering most of these in the context of The Albums They’re On but i distinctly remember hitting play on folklore and being like. oh!! oh this is the vibe? this is the vibe!! and that’s impressive
11. no body, no crime (evermore) - if i’ve said it once i’ve said it a thousand times. i will do a blood sacrifice for a country taylor album in 2022
10. cardigan (folklore) - the production is so good the bridge is so good the last chorus is so good it’s just like. a great fucking song dude
9. blank space (1989) - genuinely just like a good fucking song. campy and fun and so slick and good to listen to
8. out of the woods (1989) - the production is GORGEOUS i love the drums? like when i think of this song i think of drums and also “when the sun came up i was looking at you / you were looking at me”
7. the archer (lover) - ALL THE KING’S HORSES ALL THE KING’S MEN COULDN’T PUT ME TOGETHER AGAIN CAUSE ALL OF MY ENEMIES STARTED OUT FRIENDS HELP ME HOLD ONTO YOU
6. new year’s day (reputation) - first of all i love the imagery here? the idea of like. i want your midnights but i’ll be cleaning up bottles with you on new year’s day. is just so simple and sweet and good. and second of all i think so often about the line “please don’t ever become a stranger whose laugh i could recognize anywhere” like. oof. thank you
5. new romantics (1989) - you know those songs that make you want to have a teen movie montage where you’re jumping on your bed singing into a hairbrush? that’s what this song is for me
4. state of grace (red) - these are the hands of fate... you’re my achilles heel... this is the golden age of something good and right and real... (another one that is a VERY GOOD opening track)
3. delicate (reputation) - this song went from one i did not care about at all to one i just ADORE like the vocal effects are good i like the chorus a lot and i kinda just like. relate. yknow?
2. clean (1989) - a really good closing track (not counting bonus tracks) like the simple idea of renewal... of finally feeling like yourself again... just really nice
1. cruel summer (lover) - pop anthem, PERIOD. for whatever it’s worth i love you ain’t that the worst thing you’ve ever heard..............
(also last bonus fact: this list has songs from every taylor swift album except for fearless, her second album. but my favorite song off of fearless is you’re not sorry)
